Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located right on the shore front. A great well kept caravan park in South Gippy. Used to come here all the time as a kid with family and friends, and it's just as good as I remember. Facilities are kept clean and well maintained. Have a playground, which is great for kids to burn off some steam. And a Kiosk to serve up some fresh hot chippies when you would like a treat. Overall a great little caravan park with reasonably sized powered and unpowered sites to enjoy!

Have loved going to walkerville since I was a child on the 80s. Started going again in 2022 after a 25 year absence. Loved it again and this last trip was my third. Great park managers always love having a chat and I wish them well with their next adventure. Walkerville mostly has happier memories of my childhood and early adult life. Life can get all kinds of stuff going on yet when I go to walkerville I am taken back to a time and feeling that I need. Rosella’s and honeyeaters, native bush rats and wombats. The sand dunes that I one loved as a kid and nearly killed myself by digging a tunnel that collapsed have long been replaced by ugly rocks by some enviro thinking the sea was rising (it didn’t). My gaze is normally on the rocks beach or ocean yet there has to be a better option that ugly boulders. All in all I love this place. Walk the beach or bush tracks. Immerse yourself in nature. I only go in off season times as it’s way more peaceful. Cheers M Deed

Booked 2 weeks for January via the map in an online ballot. The site I booked, 106, was apparently a large site to fit a caravan. Upon arriving at our site, it was not the case. After many attempts to navigate our small caravan onto this site, we called Gavin, the camp manager. He did assist us in getting our van on the site. This was done by unhooking our van 3 times and manually pushing it. Obviously due to the resizing of sites the map is clearly inaccurate and needs updating. Our site was also directly under a massive gumtree. Walkerville is a windy place…

Stayed for 1 night. Could/Should have stayed longer but other plans prevented. Wonderful location, spacious campsites and modern clean amenities. Friendly fellow campers and seemed to be popular with families. Will return.

Beautiful views, top place to get a hamburger, but the Sandy and Gavin management team leave so much to be desired. Rule rules and more rules, and so rude, shove the rule book the people’s faces. Not going back till they have gone

Beautiful spot, awesome views, but the place ruined by the current management, these people should work for an local government where they can shove rule books in peoples faces and get away with it, they do not belong running a camp ground, where people are trying to relax after a year of COVID

Make sure you read the terms and conditions. Booked and paid in full but couldn't make it on the booking date due to mechanical problems with caravan. Rang Gavin days before, asked to send email which I did. Low and behold asked for credit after staying for week for 2 days that I couldn't make it. 3 people staying in the entire park hardly booked out. Don't pay up front!!! Read the terms and condtiions. No good will here, will be back for the place not the management, such a shame.

The good: right next to the beach, grassy sites, good clean amenities, BYO plug, native birds galore, peaceful quiet, will return without doubt The bad: no return phone call, google maps not accurate, booking website suggested sites blocked out but no campers in reality

Well done Walkerville management on opening up the sites during December/January holidays to everyone on a first in best dressed basis. A much fairer system for the whole community. Beautiful camp sites on the beach with great amenities.

I’ve camped in Victoria for a few years now and this camping spot was a lovely surprise. Our campsite was located right next to the ocean. First time I’ve ever been able to sleep peacefully without earplugs. The families are so respectful of each other and yes there are a lot of kids riding around on their bikes. Hot showers there as well. All campsites are numbered, ours was a powered site. Sunsets and sunrises are lovely when it wasn’t cloudy. Just a short drive to Wilson’s prom for a day trip. A lot more of an intimate site compared to the masses at Wilson’s. You can grab drum n firewood for fire pits there too and little local store has ice and other supplies you’d need if short but not cheap. Brought enough food to last us the duration. Would def come back here again.
