My family and I drove in for a three-night stay before my son and I did an 8-day rafting trip. The place is awesome and the people extraordinary. The ranch is passionately owned and expertly operated by a family and all the ranch hands act that way and welcomed my family into theirs for a few days. If you're thinking about staying, trust me, just book it. You won't regret it. Bar 10 Ranch is a pretty magical place.
We stayed an extra day prior to going on the Grand Canyon 3 day rafting trip. Excellent food, excellent staff - whoever is hiring the staff does an excellent job! They went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. ATV riding (multiple times), horseback riding, skeet shooting, great food, entertainment. Thanks to all of the staff! And did I forget the stars at night - awesome!
We decided to make the Bar 10 ranch our first stop of our Grand Canyon week. Unlike most people who fly into the ranch we rented a 4WD Chevy Suburban and drove to the ranch from Las Vegas. We were a party of 8. The drive into the ranch was part of the attraction for us. Once you get to St. George, Utah you take a dirt/gravel road 80 miles to the ranch. The first part of the road was slow going at 20mph, the middle was a little smoother at 40 mph and the last part was little more than a rocky trail at 15 mph. It took us about 4 hours from Vegas to get to the ranch. Once at the Ranch we were served lunch and got on the horses for about an hour trail ride thru the Valley. The horses were will mannered and took the ride slow and sure. We had some time after the horse ride to enjoy the multitude of activities, including tether ball, basketball, horseshoes, table tennis, Pickle ball, and others. After relaxing we shot Skeet at the range and also did some shooting with a lever action 22. Great fun for the family. Dinner was outstanding and after dinner there was ranch entertainment such as singing, trick roping and dancing. Watermelon was served after the entertainment. Later that night we enjoyed the stars and stayed in the covered wagons. The next morning was breakfast and we all got ready for the ATV ride to the canyon rim. This was a 3 hour ride, 10 miles to the rim. It was very dusty but actually rained on us on the way down. The view was spectacular. We stayed on the rim about 30/45 minutes and headed back up the trail to the ranch for lunch. We all showered and loaded up to head to our next stop. This was one of the top highlights of our Grand Canyon trip and would highly recommend. There is no cell service or WIFI at the ranch, which was a huge plus for us with teenage kids and young adults. We were able to get away from it all and just enjoy nature and each other.…
We had just completed an 8-day rafting trip in the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon with Wilderness River Adventures. To get out they arranged for helicopter rides to the Bar 10 Ranch to shower, change, have a buffet lunch ( in a very comfortable dining area). All the staff were very friendly and the place very clean and comfortable. Most importantly with A/C as the outside temperature was around 110 F. It appeared the accommodations were Conestoga wagons, possibly very hot at this time of year. They also had a landing strip and we were flown to Las Vegas, about 45 minutes flight.
Our family had a blast during our two night stay at Bar 10! They go to great effort to make every part of the experience memorable, educational and fun. Our family of five (3 teenagers) loved staying in the covered wagons, sitting around the campfire, horseback riding, eating with the staff, playing cornhole, riding ATVs, shooting, and just relaxing in the breeze. The food was top notch using beef from their very own cattle. All of the staff was fun and very hospitable. They have the perfect set up and have thought of everything!
