As soon as we arrived and said we had a reservation, the landlord knew who we were.Well looked after by a young man called Ben and we met some lovely people there. top notch bitter.Good food but the curry was too creamy for my liking so not 5 stars. Otherwise, great visit in a splendid area.

Thanks for the review Geoff. Glad the Ale hit the spot even if the curry didn't quite do it for you.

Lovely food, lovely staff and lovely atmosphere. Everything you want in a pub when with friends. Good quality food with a great selection. Same with the beer, plenty of selection of local ales. Pub is busy but not over crowded or loud. Will be back more often.

Simon and Tracey gave us a very warm welcome on Friday night, we both enjoyed chatting to them in the bar after our arrival. The room that we stayed in was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each morning as...

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights with some old friends to have a short break and a good catch up. The rooms were clean and comfortable and appeared recently decorated. The landlord and staff were very friendly, the food was OK and there were three well kept real ales on tap, including a couple of...

~ A really warm reception from Tracey and Staff. Delicious food, served with a smile. The locally caught Trout was exceptionally tasty and beautifully presented ~~ If you are in the Marches area and are hungry ~ I suggest you call in! The real ale is kept with loving care and is highly quaffable!

David, On seeing the title "Wonderful Trout" I thought you were referring to Tracy. She is great but will be even more impressed to hear that you enjoyed your fish so much. Thanks again. Simon

We too were "Mortimer Trailers" and therefore had a one night stay midway along the trail. However, we knew before arriving that we had made a great discovery... I made the booking over the telephone with Simon one of the proprietors. Simon was genial and the last minute booking was effortless. Simon's demeanour did not alter when on a busy...

, I stayed one night while walking the Mortimer Trail (a.k.a. the Mortimer Bog, alas) in June. The room, in a former stable, had plenty of character from the old stones and beams, and a pleasingly bold color scheme. (Not a fan of beige.) Very comfortable bed; bath small but functional. The pub/restaurant was also attractive. The menu was imaginative...
