I was pretty nervous about picking a camp in Wadi Rum as I’d heard some horror stories from friends…however we got very lucky! I am so glad we picked this camp as it was a huge highlight of our trip around Israel and Jordan.

We were emailed instructions on where to park a few days in advance and called the hotel to let them know we were waiting. They operate a shuttle to the parking area as the camp itself needs an offroad vehicle to access. We waited about 15 minutes, then got a lift with out bags in back of an open top 4x4 (with seats in the back).
The hotel itself seems to be divided into two areas which feature the bubble hotel and the UFO hotel. We didn’t really look at the UFO rooms as we were staying in the bubble tents.

The bubble tents are incredible. They are spacious, private and have all mod cons including heating / air con, Showers, taps, seating area, a clear roof in the large bedroom. Even better on the decked area is a hot tub and hammock. It was pretty cold when we were there in December, but it was amazing to sit in the hot tub and watch satellites crossing the milky way.

The sky was clear on our visit and the views of the stars were incredible. They offer a star gazing tour in the evening, but we decided we had a good enough view from the hot tub and through the ceiling of the tent from the bed.

Included in the price of the room was a buffet dinner (drinks not included but reasonably priced – they even have local beer). I was concerned that my gluten free / coeliac wife would have problems but the chef took her round the buffet and advised what she could eat and there was quite a lot. The food was tasty and had a good variety. If you arrive when the buffet opens, the chefs took pride in showing how they cook the Bedouin style lamb underground and take everyone out the back of the tent to show how it is dug up….a few minutes later it is on the buffet!
Breakfast also had a good variety and selection.

Activities are all bookable from the main desk. We did a 4 hour jeep ride which was good (although a bit cold in the back of an open top 4x4. Perhaps this could be cleared on the website in advance as I couldn’t find much information before we got there.

This camp really is very very good and we were so relaxed in the bubble tent I am not sure I have done it justice in this review. There really is nothing like watching incredible stars from a hot tub. Highly recommended

The bubble luxotel is a truly unique place however the management need to make a lot of improvements to justify the current price charged.

We love to give honest feedback and felt the service and cleaniness of the place was 2 star level for 5 star plus prices.

Firstly jeeps from the pick up point to the resort look like they have never been cleaned.

The bubbles themselves look great from the outside but from the inside it is very clear that they are very dirty. The bed and towels were not as clean as they should be for a place that charges over 200 Jordanian Dinars per night.

The biggest disappointment was the food. We are not fussy eaters but we struggled to find anything remotely edible at breakfast or dinner. For you coffee lovers this is not your venue as the coffee is frankly the worst I have ever had.

We arrived mid afternoon and a little hungry. It felt like a real mission asking the kitchen staff to provide a small meal that we were happy to pay for. Even this when it finally arrived was over priced and not tasting all that great.

The fridges in the rooms do not work at all. This is not acceptable for such an expensive venue. The hotel charge over inflated prices for water. Approximately 5 dinars for a 1.5 litre bottle. This is just not a good way to take care of guests in a desert hot location.

We had a bubble quite close to the main building and the noise levels from the loud music are terrible until midnight. So if you want that peaceful desert experience at night this may not be the place for you.

Overall this resort can improve so much if it just improved it's food offering significantly and got rid of the over priced culture.

It was a fantastic stay in middle of such beautiful desert, very kindly stuff with 5 * service. Rooms are far away from each other, I didn't hear any neighbors, in same time by calling 0 the personal is ready to pick up you to the restaurant with very tasty food. Lot of good emotions which is hard to explain by words. RECOMENDED!!!!

I’m currently at the hotel and I am counting the minus until we leave considering it’s dark now.

Far from even resembling a 9.0 rating for a clean hotel, we walked into dirty rooms, filthy towels as shown in the pictures, steaming hot rooms as the ACs were not turned on upon check in.

I spoke to the manager to get this resolved, he ended up calling the cleaners and having me deal with the situation basically, what a joke.

The hotel staff is anything but accommodating, we waited for over 4 hours for one of the beds that we paid for to be set, the kids were exhausted, we were told it’ll be done at 7, they did it at 11pm!!!

We have a new born baby with us and asked for a cart to pick us up as the room was quiet the walk to the main area, they were rude and refused to help even though I explained the situation.

Honestly a horrible experience overall. I highly recommend that you look for some other alternative, totally not worth the $320 that we paid, total rip-off.

Stayed here a few days ago for 1 night. We were given a room where the hottub was not working. We were not told this on arrival and only found out when the buggy driver told us as he was escorting us to our room. I made it known to the front desk before we went on tour and when we came back 2.5hrs later it still wasn't sorted! They claimed they knew nothing about it.... We explained we could move into the ufohotel or pay the ufo rate.. which once again they inflated the price on even though it was clear on booking.com it was 50JOD cheaper than what they were quoting! The front desk told us they would get someone to have a look at the hottub and that they knew about it when previously though they said they didnt know the hottub wasnt working (contridicting what they said before when they said they had no idea). We had no correspondance till we went for dinner and we had to ask again. The bubble itself was fine.. the outside is smeared from the dust but you can see the stars at night. Breakfast and dinner again were fine but limited vegetarian hot options for dinner- somosas and potatos.

Effectively the hospitality was poor.. the attitude of the front desk was poor compared to other places we stayed at during our tour for half the price.

In the end we paid the UFO rate which honestly would have been fine if they had been upfront from the beginning. We went through so much hassle which really ruined our experience. They acted like they did us a favour by reducing the rate when really they tried to pull the woll over our eyes.

On a side note the stargazing was great.

I would say if you expecting a 5 star hotel service for the price you have paid , then you will be disappointed.

hotel's front desk service skill needs improve , it is just below my expectation at least .
dinner service time window is too short , what will happen is at 7pm , a lots guest waiting outside the restaurant , it is just bit chaotic .

for the room itself , it was ok , apart from shower door was broken , hot water only availabel between 5am-11am or 5pm-11pm.

we have paid about 35JD extra for our kids when check in , as a normal hotel , they would give you extra towels for kids , right ? it is not a excess demand from guest , we haven't recieve extra towels.

another suggestion is : just put few cans of soft drink in the minibar as complimentay for guest. it just cost hotel few dollars , but will much improve the guest's expreience.

I sugget you can try 1 night at this hotel , no need to stay multiple nights , and book another camp in the protected area for 1 more night if possible .

We stayed for one night on the 1 June as a family and sadly we were very disappointed.

We had expected a luxurious experience however sadly our experience was far from that.

On our arrival there was a long delay at check in and we decided to have lunch, our lunch took over 45 minutes to arrive (the order had clearly been forgotten) and when our food arrived it was inedible and had to be returned.

On our arrival at our bubble, the air conditioning had not been switched on prior to arrival and the room was to hot to stay in, it transpired the air conditioning did not work and a member of staff was sent to fix it.
The air conditioning should be switched on prior to guests arrival to cool the bubble, otherwise the bubble is far to hot and unbearable.

Our fridge did not work, the furniture was damaged and tired with cupboard handles missing, there was a rip in the sheets which all of which were not of a satisfactory standard. The shower was stained.
A number of pieces of the decking were missing which was dangerous.

All in all we were incredibly disappointed with our stay which is very expensive for the quality provided.

We certainly would not recommend the hotel and sadly they have not responded to my two emails of complaint

We stayed at the Bubble Luxotel for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Apparently most people only come for 2 nights but that's not enough in our opinion. The Bubble Luxotel and UFO Luxotel use the same reception and restaurant in the middle so it's easy to move between the two properties if you can't get enough availability in either property.

The bubble rooms are awesome. The view is fantastic and so many comparisons to Mars are made. You can lie on the bed at night and watch the stars above. We saw 3 shooting stars. The French fortress can be seen from your bubble and the big rock about 7km in the distance (with the sparrow shaped rock in the middle on the top) just demands exploring. In Jordan, things don't always work perfectly and this place is very remote so you have to expect some issues. The staff were always very friendly and did their best to ensure we really enjoyed our stay.

Day 1: We arrived at 2pm and after checking in had lunch. After lunch we walked to the French Fortress (about 20 minutes each way). You can also take a camel. Dinner is a buffet and there is a good selection.

Day 2: After breakfast we booked through the hotel for a 10am start on a 3 hour jeep tour. The price is a very reasonable JOD 50 for 3 hours but we actually ended up getting 4 hours so we tipped an extra JOD 20. We saw the big sights in the southern Wadi Rum area and really enjoyed it. On return we had lunch in the restaurant again. After lunch we went for a walk past the UFO Luxotel and around the corner. The scenery is spectacular.

Day 3: After breakfast we walked straight ahead in the direction of the path from reception to the car park to the big rock in the distance with the sparrow rock on top (7km each way). In the evening we did the fun stargazing... Orions belt and shooting stars

Day 4: Hike of 25km to the 3 Rock bridges in the north west direction. Amazing scenery, just amazing.

Things we disliked: Bubble 201 is very near reception but you hear the evening music so we asked to move and they immediately moved us to Bubble 221 at the far end at the front so that was good.
The jacuzzi in Bubble 201 was nice and hot but Bubble 221 only got to 31 celsius which was a touch chilly in December (although that would be fine in summer)
There is no fruit salad available at breakfast but we quickly realised that bananas were available at the dinner buffet so we took these to breakfast the following morning

So, this place wasn't really our first choice. We planned to stay at Sun City Camp but our travel agency messed up and couldn't find a reservation in Sun City, so they booked this place for us.

On arrival, we were given a Bubble Dome in a corner in the back from where the only thing visible was other domes! I called reception and complained after which they moved us to a better location (from where we could see the desert).

Dinner and breakfast food quality was below average . (We had much better food on the Nile cruise!). Being vegetarians, we requested the chef to provide us atleast one good main course. He was least interested in doing this and just showed us all the Mezze items around in the buffet! Most 5-star hotels we stayed at, in Egypt and Jordan would go out of their way to please us. Not this place!

They had pasta in the buffet with arrabiata sauce (which was more like Harissa sauce!). We could hardly eat it.

Not the kind of experience I would recommend

Despite not being in the heart of the Wadi Rum desert, the Bubble Luxotel is located in a very scenic place. Excellent customer service, as the staff (1) managed to find us a spot just a couple of days before our stay, (2) satisfied our request of having the upfront bubble in the camp to enjoy an unspoiled view from the jacuzzi, and (3) allowed late check-out. Stargazing experience was incredible, special shout-out to Mr. Hadi for putting so much passion into it, he is a truly value added to the camp. Last but not least, we came in the period of falling stars, and watching them falling from the transparent bubble's ceiling was a priceless experience. Average dinner and breakfast.

Quite good. They had a huge variety of dishes. If you like vegetables, you’ll love the buffet. Desserts, however, were weak. But, everything else was great.
