We for 7 months of the year seeing different countries and decided to spend 3 months in Vietnam starting in the north and working our way to the south. So far we have stayed in some lovely hotels. We booked this after reading some of the great reviews on 14/01/2020. It’s difficult to book any further in advance as some areas we have stayed longer in that we intended to.

The Hotel

It’s a very new hotel which has very good curb appeal. Lots of bikes out the front that the hotel lets you use for free which are worth using as it’s mainly flat so it’s not going to kill you or barely get you in to a sweat.

Reception staff are excellent with a very good understanding of the English language and very pleasant.

Breakfast was good, there is not much variation from most of the other hotels we have stayed in Vietnam so far so we new what to expect.

Family Villa 109

The villas are new as shown in attached pictures. We had a few issues which in reading some of the other reviews came to light in this room. The shower is extremely temperamental and hot water would only come out at a trickle which would then suddenly turn scolding which was inconvenient to me but could be extremely dangerous to a child, we reported the issue to reception who have stated they would be dealing with the issue today 21/01/2020 so let’s hope they do.

The TV, you had to re-program when there is a power cut and what would also be helpful is a torch in the room as there seems to be no emergency lighting so you are left in complete darkness, luckily my phone had charged somewhat so we had light.

Besides that the villa was spacious and comfortable with an added bonus that they are at the back away from the road and away from the main building giving you more privacy.

Location

You really couldn’t get a better location than where it is, its a short walk into the centre where the bars, restaurants and night bus discos are, but just far enough away not to hear them from you Hotel.

All in all it’s a good hotel which needs a little tweaking and it will be a great one.

Staff went over and above what is expected. We had to change our booking from 2 nights to one on the day of check in and they were incredibly accomodating and waived the cancellation fee. Then they allowed early check in when we arrived, booked our train tickets for us with a discounted price, and were more than happy to answer all our questions!! Room was so spacious with a couch and a mountain view. Complimentary water bottles were appreciated greatly. Then on the day of check out the service didn't stop and we returned to the hotel lobby for breaks and there was a complimentary shower before we left for our late train. Bike rental is complimentary. James and David should be commended for their dedication to service. Our stay at ninh binh has been so much better thanks to all their he'll.

Very enthusiastic after our stay for 2 nights in Tam Coc Holiday Hotel.

The rooms are very nice, with A/C, quiet even though the hotel is few meters from the boat activities (less than 5 minutes by foot).

The hotel staff is very helpful : when you check in, they show you every place you can visit, they support to book taxi and they recommend places to go by bike.
On top we could borrow bicycles to go around and enjoy Hong Mua view point, Bich pagodes and the scenery in the marvelous country side.
Breakfast was good (pho, fresh fruits, various eggs, bread, …).

We booked 2 rooms for our daughter and ourselves and both were very nice ( beds and bathroom) with all the confort you could expect. Pictures were same as reality.

Thank you very much for the wonderful time we had in your hotel.

We would strongly recommend to stay in Tam Coc Holiday hotel if you come in Tam Coc.

Me and my five friends had an absolutely amazing stay at this nice hotel. After some busy and loud days in Hanoi, we were beyond pleased with the quiet and easygoing nights at Tam Coc Holiday. The hotel is situated far enough from a Nice road with lots of restaurants and bars that you do not hear any of the traffic, but still so close that you can walk over there in maybe three minutes or so.

At the hotel, we stayed in the small villas/cottages. Clean, air-conditioned rooms with a bedroom and a bathroom. The poolside area was crisp and clean with a lovely pool, lots of vegetation to provide shade and beautiful ambience and a small koi fish pond to add even more beauty to this pearl of a hotel.

We were provided service by excellent hotel staff. Especially a young man, Phuc was his name, was so, so good. The staff was always present to make us a drink from the bar, at an extremely reasonable price, or to help us carry luggage, or provide an extra towel, or anything really.

The included breakfast was also very good! You order, free of charge, a dish from a menu if you want one. Otherwise there is a buffet table with fruits, coffee, toast, jam, some baked goods and some warm options such as fried rice or bacon.

Another thing I want to commend is how easy it was to get from our hotel to different places we wanted to visit. It was a quick taxi ride from our hotel to Hang Mua, and not too far to the impressive Bai Dinh Pagoda.

We had a five star stay at this hotel. I cannot recommend it enough. Go here! Definitely suitable for people of all ages, and children would certainly enjoy it too.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is absolutely ideal, just steps away from Tam Coc boat dock with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and also at the beginning of the bike / walking path of Tam Coc. The rooms are quite clean and comfortable. Price is a great value.

The breakfast buffet was a little weak but decent enough with a la carte options added. It will be an even better stay once all the construction is finished on the property and nearby.

I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back!

Initially I was attracted to book one of the small bungalow hotels in Tam Coc which looked lovely but on taking into account the low temperatures in northern Vietnam in winter I finally decided to book a bricks and mortar hotel as I thought it would offer more comfort if it was cold or wet. Turned out to be a sound decision. It was barely into double figures and quite windy during our three night stay. Being in the town suited us too, easy to reach shops and restaurants and the waterside. It would be lovely to stay there in a different season so that you can appreciate the swimming pool.

On arrival we were met by two receptionists, one of whom speaks good English, we were given a welcome drink and snacks, a map and explanation of the area and shown to our room which was on the top floor. Room 302 is spacious, well furnished with plenty of storage, equipped with kettle and tea tray, mini bar and armchairs. The bathroom is also spacious with new fittings. There’s constant hot water but you need to take care in the shower because the floor tiles are definitely NOT nonslip.
The balcony is tiny and the doors open outward so you have to squeeze through but we managed to sit out and enjoy a drink on our last day which was a bit milder. The view of the mountains is off to the right; directly in front is a yard full of construction rubble and the old bus that serves as a bar. It’s lit up at night but a bit ugly in daylight.
Our only issue was that the reversible a/c really didn’t heat the room and we found it chilly to sit around except on our last day. The staff tried their best to adjust it but I think it just isn’t adequate for rooms with high ceilings in cold weather. In fact throughout Tam Coc with most restaurants and bars open to the elements you can reckon on eating in your outerwear and/or sitting round a smoky fire pit.
The breakfast at the hotel was good with plenty of choice, fruit, breads and pastries, basic cereals on the buffet and hot selection cooked to order. The staff kindly made me fresh tea every day instead of from the vacuum flask. All staff were kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We asked reception to arrange taxis on two days to reach the places of interest and our transfer to Hanoi airport. Both worked out well.
What we hadn’t appreciated was that Tam Coc is very much on the gap year/ backpacker itinerary so if like us you are of an older demographic you might wish to avoid the bungalow resorts with their dorm rooms, pool tables, DJs and other noise inducing activities and opt for the quiet and comfort of this place.

Clean, tidy comfortable room. We were upgraded so had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Beautiful view from our room, but it was cold and raining when we were there so didn’t get to enjoy the balcony much. We stayed only one night, but I can say the room was quiet and comfortable, with a good shower. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was hotel typical for vietnam - selection of fresh fruit, pastries and bread, some cereal, juices, some Vietnamese dishes, and the ability to order eggs, omlette etc.. location was fantastic, very close to the boats that go up the river, and lots of bars and restaurants near by.

We spent 3 nights in beautiful Tam Coc, in the lovely Tam Coc Hotel Villa.

The location is very good, close to the lake and the "strip" of bars and restaurants. As we were there in October this was low season for Tam Coc so was very quiet, but still some decent places to eat and drink cheaply.

Also walking dsitance from Bich Dong and cycling distance (using the hotel bikes for free) from the Mua caves and viewpoint (which are stunning).

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the bed (in our room) was huge and comfortable, the pool area was really nice, as was the balcony.

Staff were lovely and provided recommendation for different trips.

We really enjoyed the "rowing boat tour" on the river.

Would certainly recommend the Tam Coc Hotel and Villa

I had a wonderful stay at Tam Coc Holiday Hotel! I was there for one night and would have loved to have stayed longer. The room was spacious and comfortable with a mountain view😍 my favourite area was the poolside equipped with loungers and umbrellas - perfect for a hot summers day. I had such a lovely and relaxing time there. The staff are also so helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for my stay. I will be back:)

Totally enjoyed our stay, Phuc and staff were a delight . Phuc was so attentive and very hard working, an inspiration to all. Great day trips organised for us at reception .The Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary was the reason we came to Tam Coc, but we discovered a relaxing Vietnamese village like atmosphere, that also catered for the younger generation at night. The hotel is more boutique and personal than the big hotels, clean and very comfortable. Great breakfast , free bikes and the town felt safe to bike around in , just not as traffic as some places. Thanks Phuc and staff for a memorable stay in your beautiful country . Jodie and Damien , Australia, Tasmania
