The Ascos Coral Beach Hotel offers a friendly vibe and is situated conveniently close to local attractions and beaches, a fact that guests often appreciate. However, while the pool and views are highlights, reviewers have called out the hotel for its outdated rooms and decor, and some have experienced issues with service responsiveness and maintenance. Despite the overall cleanliness, there are inconsistencies in housekeeping and some areas reportedly require refurbishment. Furthermore, the value proposition is questioned by many travelers, who cite additional charges and underwhelming food quality.

I will start with the positives to this hotel. The location of Ascos coral bay is ideal for access to coral bay beach and coral bay restaurants and bars. The room upon arrival was clean & tidy. The food in the hotel was surprisingly good with a small choice but considering previous all inclusive hotel food at other hotels hasn’t always been great, the desserts in particular were fantastic.

Our room was situated on the corner of the hotel with a fantastic view of the sea and the land which we were happy about considering we only booked a standard room. However, the smell arising from the bins outside our room was repulsive, to the point of almost knocking us sick when opening our balcony door or walking up the stairwell taking us up to the 2nd floor. The room charged €5 for a TV remote, bearing in mind the TV was 18” and I could just about see it from the bed. The drinks in the hotel were initially charged as we were half board, these drinks were either that strong with alcohol they were un drinkable, or warm without taste as ice wasn’t always available. We didn’t drink much in the hotel due to this, but luckily the hotel didn’t always check that we had wristbands and assumed we were all inclusive as the majority of guests were, so we got most of our drinks for free so I suppose that’s another plus. We were awoken at around 6am daily (4am UK time) due to staff banging the cleaning cupboard door outside of our room numerous times until we eventually woke up fully as sleeping was no longer an option. 5 out of 7 days at the hotel, plates or glasses were smashed by the staff due to them trying to carry way more than what was possible, this is probably down to the little training and unprofessionalism of the staff. The hotel entertainment was genuinely abysmal, either a singer you couldn’t hear or bingo on most nights, this is about as exciting as it gets.

So if your looking for a cheap hotel with nice food, noisy untrained staff, horrific smells if you’re on the east side of the hotel, entertainment that will send you walking out the front door, and drinks that are made with speed and agility, then this is the perfect hotel for you.

Just got back from a weeks all inclusive with 3 friends and we were all sceptical due to the amount of terrible reviews however we had a great time!

Yes the hotel could do with a freshen up but over all the food was great most of the time, they have different themed evenings so you get to try lots of different things. The food is all cooked fresh and homemade, downside to food is the afternoon snacks between 3-5.30 but even then it hits the spot if you’re a little peckish!

Staff were friendly, especially the pool bar staff, along with a woman from the restaurant (unsure of the name but she wears blue mascara and has short bleach blonde hair) she’s fab and entertainment for the hotel, Camille, who was great at getting everyone up and involved throughout the day for yoga, darts, volley ball and aerobics which kept the place lively and we missed this on his day off!

The hotels ‘beach’ isn’t a beach for laying on due to big rocks but there are beds on the grass area with a beach bar. We went down to watch the sunset which is the perfect spot for it! Highly recommend, even if you don’t venture down in the day.

Evening entertainment was basic but enjoyed enough.

We had two rooms between the 4 of us, room 135 was fine and had an amazing view! Room 172 had a terrible smell so if you get checked into a room with a bad smell, please note there are rooms that don’t, ask to change!

Perfect location, we walked into the ‘strip’ for dinner, drinks and karaoke a couple of the nights after the hotel’s entertainment.

I chose this hotel for my almost 14-day vacation because it is "almost" by the sea and offers a beautiful complex. It is currently used by many Eastern European families and couples, many Poles and Russians. English and Germans less so. The service staff (some of them Polish) are very nice and helpful. The food in the evening is very tasty, varied and diverse. Always with several salads and around 8 dishes. There is also a good buffet in the morning, but nothing special. With half board you pay for your own drinks in the evening and during the day. The pool is large, clean, with lots of loungers.
There is a path from the hotel to the beach a few hundred meters away, but it is an unkempt stone/pebble beach.
The hotel is really nice for relaxing, sometimes small, screaming children are annoying (even when eating) because the parents simply don't look after them while they eat.
A small fridge, kettle and safe in the room are very nice. The rooms are large, with a small balcony, I had booked a side sea view.
During the day there is always music playing by the pool. If you don't like that, bring earplugs and your own music.
There are many other restaurants in the area, but if you don't like it, don't worry. The food is good.
The rooms are very clean. I made a few other trips from here using a well-known travel app, where I was picked up near the hotel. You can take a public bus into Paphos.
The free WiFi in the hotel is relatively weak, you can book faster WiFi for an extra charge. (Expensive!)
The small TV in the room has one German channel - Arte.
In the evenings, the hotel also offers music entertainment.
All in all: recommended!

Our air conditioning wasn’t working so was unable to sleep for 3 days due to the heat, until someone finally came and fixed it. There is no WiFi connection and if it does work, it’s not for long. Food was very repetitive and horrendous so ate out most mornings/evenings which was ashame considering we had all inclusive that was quite clearly not worth it. Pool area was lovely, however, there was only one pool bar so queues were long at times and quite a distance depending where you are sitting around the pool. Be careful when getting in and out of the pool as the steps to get in and out aren’t securely fitted which is a hazard and lifeguard couldn’t care less to even notice. Indoor pool visitors weren’t able to use as the ceiling had collapsed and sauna room is out of use which was disappointing. Hotel is very outdated and needs refurbishment, there was awful smells coming from in and around the hotel. If you put the “please make up my room” sign on your door every morning, someone will come and clean your room as we done this and was pleased to see that this was done. Overall staff was very unhelpful and rude, especially some of the catering staff. Entertainment staff during the day was welcoming, friendly and eager to get visitors involved in daytime activities, however entertainment in the evenings was absolutely awful, it was either the same tone deaf singer or bingo and that’s as good as it got. Only positives was that we met some lovely people, there was good nightlife, variety of shops and restaurants only 10 mins walking distance from the hotel as well as coral bay beach (you can pay €7 for sun loungers to keep for the day until you’re ready to leave). The “beach” at the hotel isn’t even a beach, it’s a dumping ground so don’t bother. A holiday is what you make it, however, I would not come back to this hotel again! It is not worth the money and what you see online, is not what you get.

The "Ascos Coral Beach" hotel is a bit old, but the view from the balcony is impressive - a beautiful swimming pool and access to the beach - so it's for everyone who likes it. A swimming pool with a designated section for small children and a place to play volleyball. The food was very tasty and varied - everyone will find something for themselves, and the cakes served with dinner were simply delicious. The room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, cups, glasses, plates and hairdryer. The room was cleaned, towels changed daily, shampoo, liquid soap, coffee, tea, cream, sugar replenished daily. Pool towels are available at the reception - for a refundable deposit (they can be changed for fresh ones every day). Very nice staff, helpful and always smiling, especially the girls from Poland - Julia at the reception and Marta in the restaurant. Plenty of sun loungers. Live music in the evenings. Near the hotel, about a 15-minute walk, there is a beautiful beach called "Coral Bay", and a really large and very well-stocked supermarket called "Phillipos". Very close to the city of Paphos, where you can visit a lot - a must-see is the historic Nea Paphos with its beautiful mosaics.

This hotel is shabby and rundown ,corridor carpets and (pink sofas ) soft seating were visibly dirty.
The food and bar services is what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel .
Our bathroom was very compact ,in fact it was tiny and the shower was very difficult for anyone with mobility problems to access .
Our toilet seat was broken from our arrival as was one of the room lights. we were staying for 12 nights and although it states by their own rules that bedding and towels get changed every three days ours were only changed after 5 days when we had complained and were not changed for the rest of our stay. Our door lock broke and the maintenance man had to come and strip it down and repair it to allow us to access our room. On our first day we requested 2 extra pillows as the two small ones we had ,appeared to be filled with rags these were not forthcoming so we again requested them and they eventually arrived. However this was not the case with the bath non slip mat which never arrived.
On our first night we pulled the bedclothes back to get into bed and found a large dead insect between the sheets. Tea and coffee refreshments were never replaced at any time and all the surfaces were either sticky or dusty.
The hotel was closing for refurbishment on our last day but in reality it had started to close from the Saturday 28th October three days before our departure the hotel shop closed ,entertainment was virtually nil and was mostly music on a loop ,badly sung Karaoke or bingo. No programme of entertainment was offered during the daytime .The swimming pool was unheated and was icy cold.
Continental breakfast was not available and the beer tasted like it had been recycled from the drip tray.
The childrens play area/amusements were mostly broken .
Nobody took any responsibility for cleaning up broken glasses dropped in the entertainment seating area even though children often played there during the evenings.
It stated that check out on final day was 12.00 midday but we were bullied and harangued by the room cleaning supervisor from 10.30am to leave. I left my GHIC card in the room and when i returned to get the supervisor only reluctantly allowed me to re-enter but it was gone and i was shooed away like a stray dog.
Our transfer was at 12.55 but we left by taxi to get away almost two hours early.
There is no supervision or management here staff do whatever they want and appear to have little motivation to take responsibility for anything unless you complain nothing is done about it.

I’m going to be honest with you, this hotel is disgusting . The rooms DO NOT get cleaned there are about 4 options for each meal of the day e.g. breakfast, dinner, tea. We payed for all inclusive and they’ve tried to charge us each day for each meal after we have told them plenty of times and explained politely that we are all inclusive. They tried to charge us €40 for FREE WiFi we made sure it was free and they told us it was free. All staff leave at midnight so if anything goes wrong and you need help, it’s tough there’s no one here. I was ill all week probably due to the lack of food options and how discusting the food was so I didn’t eat all week other than English crisps and snacks we got from the shops. Water is NOT FREE, all I’ve needed all week is a bottle of water and no it’s €5 euros for a small bottle of water. Rooms don’t get cleaned, bed sheets don’t get changed, never got a refill of toilet roll or fresh towels. The whole hotel personally is unsanitary, do not eat the fruit, the fruit always has flies/bugs eating it like the rest of the food just left out. They reuse food e.g the fruit and chips absolutely vile. Staff are blatantly rude and just ignore you for example when having a meal I asked for a drink and one of the female members of staff was stood doing nothing and she just went “no wait” overall I do not recommend this hotel and please check reviews on all platforms before hand we only checked reviews on their website which was a big mistake as I’ve come on here and reviews are shocking. Do not come here for your own health and wellbeing!

I liked the view, the location and the guys at the bar who were smiling and polite.
Generally i didn't like anything about the hotel. I paid a 4 star hotel, this was not. The room was old, dirty sheets, the bathroom water was smelly, they never cleaned our room and the carpet outside the rooms was so dirty. The pool bar appearance was poor, the quality of the food was medium to bad and the staff behaviour was unbelievable. Everyone was wearing gloves for hours, i even saw a waiter going to the toilet and coming back with these gloves. They couldn't communicate with the clients, and they were not professionals on their jobs. For two nights i was eating dinner and i ended up getting my own drink from the bar and coming back to the restaurant because none was bothering to bring our drinks. Also, there are fake beach pictures to make you book it. They advertise the beach and the sunbeds where dont exist in the hotel beach side. The beach in front of the hotel is rocky and there is no way to enter it because its a cliff. You need to walk to the front of the next hotel to enter it but its not an organised beach and there is no sand in the front.

Awful experience. Couldn’t wait to leave.

We were placed here by an insurance company as my 4 YO son had an ear infection and wasn’t able to fly home with the rest of the family.

Our first dealings with reception staff was point blank rude. She couldn’t be bothered to tell me anything, not even where to find my room.

The hotel itself is nice enough(although the photos do make it look better than it is)

the rooms themselves are clean with everything you could need if not very compact.

However the place was full of people who drank and smoked so much that by midday people were drunk around the pool and twice I witnessed the poor lifeguard struggling to control groups of clashing people.

The entertainment went on until the early hours of the morning, so if you had a pool or sea view you had the noise from that accompanied by the stench of cigarette smoke.

There are no lights on the balcony if you did want to sit out so I was stuck in a room every night once my little one went to bed, as my only other option was to listen to the noise from the pool area, in the dark,.

The breakfast was fine, if you want to eat in a stifling hot room or outside with the smokers….. and drink fizzy orange or apple juice. the evening meal was grim. Unless you got there when it first opened the choice would be limited, the food was over cooked. There were limited choices for children aside from a constant supply of chicken nuggets.

This shows as a 4 star family hotel. It’s far from family friendly or 4 star in my opinion.

5-Star Hotel Review

“I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, greeting us warmly upon arrival and checking in throughout our stay to ensure everything was perfect. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered a stunning view, making it a relaxing oasis to come back to after exploring. The amenities were top-notch, with a luxurious spa, well-equipped gym, and a delicious breakfast buffet that offered a wide variety of fresh options each morning. The location was ideal, close to major attractions but still quiet and peaceful. I can’t recommend this hotel enough – truly a 5-star experience!”
