WE stayed as part of a G adventures 5 Stans tour. The intimate guesthouse offers free wifi, and firm, thin mattresses, which I like. Modern showers spout plenty of hot water. The ample buffet breakfast included eggs, meats, delicious local breads and fruit. Great coffee. The staff is exceptional helpful and accommodating.

Kemin is a very basic but very comfortable guesthouse. Plenty of electrical outlets, but very spotty Internet. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot. There was not a glass in the room for a drink of water or to rinse my mouth. Dinner was quite tasty. Breakfast wasn’t served until 9 AM and no coffee or tea service was provided in our room-so the innkeeper graciously gave me a key to the restaurant and put a hot water pot and coffee out for me to enjoy at 6 AM.

We were a group of 18. We arrive and the owner/manager asks us to get the luggage up to the front door . Fair enough. Then I ask him for the room keys as we had a rooming list and he clearly did not. Highhandedly he refused which did cause a lot of confusion and waste of time , and we were already tired from a long journey.
Rooms are quaint , rustic and clean. Pretty minimal with not even a glass to drink water from. Most guest houses in Kyrgyzstan leave a jug and glass in the room , and you can fill water from the cans placed in the corridors. Some of us wanted water and were even told to wait until dinner was served. Addressed this to him and were promised glasses soon after dinner , but none arrived until the very end.
We were told we could just walk anywhere , but no information other than that was forthcoming. And we did walk and it was beautiful. He said he would come and show his horses if anyone wanted a ride and this did not happen as well.
Now, after our walk we arrive back to see some other groups being waited on in a very different manner. Their luggage was carried right from the van. Horses and carts organised in a jiffy and his entire demeanor changed. Worse still, we wanted an early breakfast , by 7.30am . This we informed him the previous night. We were sternly refused and told that we could have breakfast only at 8am. We arrive at the dining hall early and find two groups already finishing breakfast. For all this , we were the first to check in the previous day.
I would definitely say, that this is brazen discrimination. He just spoilt the entire stay and atmosphere for us and tainted the good memories.
Food is good , but that is besides the point.
This may be one of the best places around the area, but any person with a bit of self respect would not stay here.
Had it not been for the big group of 18 with me , I would have just left and found another place.
I have travelled to so may countries and places, and sadly this is the first ever time that I have experienced such discrimination.
Wish there was some forum to which we could complain about his behavior so they could take action.
He is a face of this beautiful country and such behavior does not showcase them well.

Stayed here as part of a group tour. This far exceeded my expectation of a guesthouse anywhere. We stayed in the new block upstairs in a modern twin room with en suite shower room. Towels were provided. The shower had a cloud head. Some people in our group reported issues with hot water but i gound there was enough to wash. The room was cozy, well furnished, and had plenty of hooks and shelves for your possessions. Food was served in an alpine style building with picture windows giving stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Food was local and wholesome; bread, salad, soup, and a casserole with potatoes. I don't eat meat particularly, although not a principled vegetarian, and felt well catered for. Breakfast had eggs, coffee, bread, and fruit. All food served to your table with tea. You can purchase beer, water, and soft drinks from a fridge in the dining room. If you are a picky eater, maybe take snacks? The scenery here is stunning, and we went for a walk the next morning in the mountains. As it rained, we didn't get to enjoy the fire pit.

This weekend we were back for another stay at Kemin Guest House. We love the peace and beauty of the Kemin valley, the local walks, the beautiful scenery, the variety of wildlife and the friendly atmosphere created by the family hosts.
The bedrooms are comfortable and the dinning room wonderful, with its huge windows that help you to feel part of the spreading valley. It is lovely in every season of the year. The home-cooked food is fresh, with thoughtful variety and a delightful mix of local and regional cuisine.

We really enjoyed the hospitality of this guest house. The two brothers who own the place are friendly with excellent English and were very helpful. The food provided for dinner was plentiful but no vegetarian option (to be expected considering the location but something to be aware of). Breakfast was equally as filling. The rooms were comfortable and the shower was great. The only downside is the price of this place, we paid more to stay here than we did for a 4 star hotel in Bishkek. However, that was our choice and we did have a wonderful stay.

We had the most amazing stay at the guest house. Aziz was wonderful and I loved his vision and the way he interacts with visitors. Location is perfect for star gazing, horse riding, hiking or just to laze around doing absolutely nothing. Rooms were very comfortable and food was equally good. We loved our two night stay here and will surely visit again. Thank you to all the staff.

During our overnight stay at the guesthouse, we had an overall satisfactory experience until a specific incident during lunch. While dining with my friend, we noticed that another Slavic couple was greeted and offered additional portions by the owner, while we were sitting right next to them and completely ignored. This incident left us puzzled and somewhat uncomfortable. Later, I had a conversation with the owner's mother, who candidly shared that they prefer foreign guests over locals and hold biases against them. Unfortunately, this revelation led me to conclude that the guesthouse operates under a discriminatory policy towards local guests, which ultimately influences their level of service. It's disappointing to feel unwelcome and prejudiced against based on our nationality. As a result, my impression of the guesthouse is tarnished, as it seems they prioritize certain guests over others, hindering their ability to provide a fair and accommodating experience for everyone

A wonderful setting, but a developing venture that is a bit of a building site. Ask for a first floor room - for the views. We were on the ground floor with a view of the washing lines. Nice enough room. Very good evening meal & breakfast. There are probably lovely walks above the property, but the owner would only say 'walk anywhere'. We did, and it was lovely, but more direction would be useful.
