Travellers' Choice
At Freedom Shores visitors can stay in a Boat Bungalow or Resort Suite, dine at the award winning Northerlies Beach Bar and Grill with a great selection of craft beers and boutique wines, enjoy a menu developed by our inspired Head Chef Zibby Deca, or just soak in the view of the water’s edge with a cocktail in hand and a moment of relaxation. Freedom Shores resort captures the natural surrounds of the ocean and lush Whitsunday tropical forests. Set in a hidden valley close to Airlie Beach, the destination provides various unique accommodation options from a converted boat, bespoke boat bungalow accommodation, through to well-appointed Resort Suites. The extensive landscaped gardens have pockets of peace, there is stunning craftsmanship found in all the buildings, and Freedom Shores offers service from highly experienced and knowledgeable staff. The venue is also poplar as an event destination.

My wife and I can not say enough about both the magnificent natural surrounds, the comfortable room, the view, the location, but also about the staff that anticipated and attended to our every need during our week-long holiday as if we were members of the family. Freedom Shores is so much more relaxing and enjoyable than a conventional hotel stay. The proximity to Airlie Beach and the regional attractions is ideal as is the short stroll to the delicious and enormously popular, Northerlies open-air restaurant featuring great food and cocktails. Am I in Figi? The Hawaiian islands? The morning breakfasts too, taken beside the pool were a perfect way to start each day. Thanks to the entire team, Rod, Annalise, Taylor and Allie at FS and to the amazing young people at Northerlies for looking after us so brilliantly. This is an amazing place - snap it up if you can.

Freedom Shores is a little slice of paradise just 5 minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of Airlie Beach and less than 1 minutes walk to the fantastic Northerlies Bar & Grill. The room (we stayed in Fairweather, one of the 3 suites located above the boat and beach house accommodations) was quiet and very clean with beautiful views overlooking the water and Whitsunday Islands. The continental breakfast just right, the coffee great, the staff super friendly and the landscaped grounds superb. We had a great 9 night stay and loved it so much have re-booked for another 9 nights in Sept. Can't wait.

We had an amazing 4 night stay at Freedom Shores staying in the beach shack which was such beautiful and unique accommodation by the sea. Was so private with lovely gardens, including all the little extras that make a holiday, like games to play, sunscreen, mozzie spray and a private beach lounge by the water. Annalise at reception made our stay so memorable, such a sweet lady, generous with information, assisting bookings and ensuring we had an abundant breakfast the morning of our early departure to the marina, she really went above and beyond and always with a smile! Northerlies restaurant in close walking distance was a huge bonus too, great cocktails, lovely setting and yummy food. Absolutely recommend!

My partner and I decided to stay here for a night before our flight, having visited a week prior for lunch on our way to Daydream Island. The hotel has beautiful grounds, away from Airlie so is quiet (but they have a free shuttle bus on the hour and you can call and communicate with the driver to pick you up, just excellent), has quirky boat themed rooms, stunning views and breakfast was lovely. On top of this the staff are fantastic, helpful and overall clearly love working here, which made our stay extra special. We would like to highlight Rod in particular, as he goes beyond the call of duty and his enthusiasm for this place is infectious. We will stay here again and recommend to our friends and family! Thank you for making our stay amazing! Also, just to add the recommendation of the Whitsundays Airport transfer company was excellent and their service was great too. Freedom Shores clearly have done their research to partner with other excellent services. Rebecca and Mike
