Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely greeting from Connie at reception, was very welcoming and polite prob the best part of the stay was meeting her. Sorted a lot of problems for me she was a superstar 5 stars for her.

The stay was ok, room was standard but for work accomodation was ok. Bathrooms were filthy but very hard to clean properly when dust is everywhere.

Now where do I begin for the rest, the staff (excluding Connie) have no idea about food safety, I have allergies and was handed my dinner with the said food that I have allergies to which I did not order. I took it back and said I did not order it and the backpacker behind the till didn’t even apologise instead his response was “s**t happens bro” this ticked me off and replied with it not s**t happens when you kill someone with yourf**k up. Then the manager got involved. Now bearing in mind she was on shift (she was an American backpacker) she shot up from the table where she was drinking multiple glasses of wine, shouted at me that I was wrong (she does not believe that her staff/ backpacking friends are wrong and the customer is always wrong) she should not be managing that place.

If you have kids do not take them there it’s dangerous the cleaning products I.e bleach are left out in the open for anyone to take, lift potentially drink. There is a store room about 5 yards from where they are and the door is always left open (Photo attached)

Food safety and health and safety need to go in there and have a good look and check if the staff have there certification in order because they are very unaware about food hygiene and safety, the manager couldn’t run a bath let alone a restaurant and motel service especially when she drinks wine whilst on shift.

Prob best to stay away from that place till the new owners take over and completely do-over the place. Having backpackers may be a cheap way of running things but they don’t care about anything.. even food safety.

I must say I’m totally disappointed in the conditions of the toilet and shower areas as it’s very badly maintained.
I can understand that it’s always covered in red dust due to the fact it’s mostly a miners campsite but still more could be done to make it more accommodating.
There’s no hand wash liquid, no paper towel or blower and most toilet seats are broken.
On a positive note, the location is convenient as a base to visit Karijini as this is the closest caravan park that has power and hot shower.
If the sites have proper markings and ablutions given a makeover, your park would have been the best in this area.

ok stay for a night or two no more than that we have stayed here quite a few times. Staff are friendly and toilets and showers are ok the old toilet and shower combo for the ladies is gross there is never any paper towel and it never looks cleaned properly bin is never emptied. Laundry always gets flooded and some machines are out of order as well. The newer shower toilet combos are a bit better but there is nowhere to put your stuff when you have a shower, there is never any paper towel in the dispenser to wipe your hands and there has been on a few occasions no toilet paper. Roadhouse food is way overpriced and they don't understand when you tell them you want a runny egg in your toasted sandwich happened several times. Garden and grass areas look soooo much better from all the previous times it was all sandy and drab looking so whoever does them deserves a pay rise. Staff are lovely but there is always someone in a white 4wd who drives around the camp watching everyone which is kind of creepy and off putting think it may be the manager.

I/we work for a mining company, we HAD to stay in this place with many other mining personal and contractors. The shop/food area was very untidy, the person we deal with behind the counter really did not want to be there, we could not believe how dirty it was. there was only one working washing machine and one dryer I can just imagine what the kitchen area is like where the food is prepared. This roadhouse is halfway to nowhere, but this does not mean that the condition of the premises has to be third world !! and because they are halfway to nowhere the money turn over has to be good/outstanding so spend some of it on cleaning and do something about the dust, they can even afford to asphalt the area, they can afford it. I might even call the health department as no one should have to stay in these conditions.

We came late to the hotel due to having an accident on the road. When we arrive at the hotel, we didn't get any instruction on how to get the key for check in (not even a map of where the reception is). We have to be a detective to find it, long story short we found the reception and a mail box with our name on it.

We ordered a room for 3 people for early april, which supposed to have 1 x queen bed + 1 x sofa bed. However, the sofa bed wasn't prepared and still intact as original. So, inevitably one of us have to sleep on the small sofa not sofa bed. The next day, the reception promised to offer a small refund of $10 which I think it's too small (normally $50 for extra sofa bed). However, we accept it anyway.

After contacting the receptionist several times via email and phone, until now we haven't received our refund.

The room is descent otherwise.

Staying at the motel. It is spacious and clean. There is also free commercial washing machine and dryer for the guests.

Also had dinner here which is one of the most reasonably priced and delicious mains that we have had while traveling basically from road houses to small motels. There’s a good selection of burgers, pizzas, roast and steak. It also opens early at 5 am for the FIFO crew.

Recommended if you are traveling around Karijini region.

Room Tip: Motel rooms are better than the donga type accomodation. Pay the extra, it’s worth it.

This is a reasonable place to camp overnight. Nice large site which was drive through. Was told to find a site we liked and take it. No booking required, no site allocated, find and choose your own. Site was ok but on sand (dirt). Long walk to ablution block which was good and clean. Ladies was closed and they had to use disabled toilet which was fine. Purchased our evening meal there and it wasn't too bad, although some staff members seemed a bit flustered and not overly happy. Purchasing alcohol was very expensive which I thought not justified. No where else to get any, but on principal, I chose to drink tea that evening. They need to also put up clear signage as to where to check in and pay for caravan sites. There was a small sign, but everyone missed it and went to the cafe/restaurant only to be told to go to the other office. This could be a better park and should be for the price charged, if they put a bit of effort into improving it a bit. With a free camp not far away, we will not be staying here again.

No hot water.
Will get maintenance man onto it tomorrow - after you have left.
Terribly run down and dated.
Understand that there is a water shortage and power is generated on site but overall the whole package is very poor. It is clearly that it is the only place to stay in the area that keeps this Place open. Booked out is what we were told the next day as we were leaving. No apology or offer to refund part of booking. Clearly too expensive for them to have a maintenance man do something after hours - so customer just has to pay up and shut up.

While this is advertised as a roadhouse and caravan park:
1. The roadhouse is very low in stock, nothing useful for tourists and the shelves are covered with dust.
2. The entire area is more like a demolition site and there appears to be projects begun & remaining incomplete.
3. There are many FIFO accommodations which seem to be the priority.
4. There are roadworks all around - someone said there was a railway being built (?)
5. There was one antique ladies’ shower. The roadhouse ones were unclean.
6. $40 powered site = free laundry

Our room was of a good size, spotlessly clean and was a lot quieter than we thought it would be. The personnel were friendly and helpful - going out of their way to provide extra blankets for us on a cold night. Best chips we have eaten in ages too. Well done Auski.
