We popped in here twice at lunch time while we were holidaying nearby. We received a very warm welcome both times with our dog. The food was very good with large portions. Our dog was also given treats by the bar staff, which was a nice gesture. Would definitely recommend.

Visited the pub on Saturday evening for dinner, busy but very impressive. Food was excellent, service great, ambience superb. The starters were excellent. The main courses were wide ranging and beautifully cooked. Going to book for dinner again tonight, hope I can get in!!! No bad points.

Recently stayed at this great pub/bed and breakfast couldn't fault it. From the very friendly HAPPY staff to the lovely clean and comfortable room to the gorgeous food. We were made to feel so welcome, nothing at all was a trouble to any of the staff. Thoroughly deserve the yorkshire pub of the year title. What a proper pub should...

Spent 2 nights here. The room had a 4 poster bed and was lovely and comfortable. The pub was lovely and locals very friendly. The Sunday lunch was so tasty, beef tender and of course a light and fluffy Yorkshire pud and a superb variety of veg. Breakfast was well cooked with a variety of cereals, toast and splendid fry...

Took my Wife for a meal here at the weekend. Lovely pub, a good choice on the menu. I can recommend the seafood platter as a starter and the rest of the dishes we had (bellypork & ribeye steak) were just as good. Local beers, friendly efficient staff and a pleasant ambience . We thoroughly enjoyed our night and wouldn't...

The Bull Inn won Yorkshire pub of the year 2016 and it didn't disappoint. It lies on the banks of the river Ure with their garden going down to the river bank and it's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The pub serves good local cask ales as well as a good selection of...

My sister gave my husband and me a voucher for a night in a hotel and as we had never been to Ripon we chose to stay at the Bull Hotel as it was the nearest available hotel with the limited choice on the voucher. We spent a pleasant afternoon in Ripon after travelling from our home in Retford Notts....

Late afternoon mid-week- can we still eat? An enthusiastic yes was the reply. The pan fried sea-bass and the shepherds pie we're definitely not mid anything. Beautiful food. Friendly staff and good local beer for the non-driver. What more could you want?

Lovely food and very friendly and welcoming staff. We visited on New Years Eve and enjoyed the local singer. The pub is very charming and has a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back if we ever visit the area in the future.

Stayed for just one night with a young excitable pup! We were welcomed by the staff and the pup was too! Room was warm and comfortable and very quiet considering the pub was very lively that night. Food was good and service excellent. Would definitely return. Excellent value for money.
