This is our 3rd visit to this resort and we loved it again. If you want a thorough relaxation spend 2 nights here. The rooms are big and clean. The service is outstanding and the food is simple and tasty. We took the Harrier Package this time and got a lake facing room. The view was excellent. A must visit for birders, nature lovers and people who want to 'take a break' from hectic city life. Birders would have a great time as there are lots of species in and around. Bird within the resort, go on treks with naturalists (provided by the resort for free) and visit Karanja Reservoir and Airport Area (Blackbuck area).
WE stayed for 2 nights in Cottage no 7. The cottage was neat and clean, with fresh bed sheets and linen. The bathrooms are large and absolutely clean. The ambiance was so comfortable, and the food very very tasty and hygienically made. The people at the resort, especially Parshuram and Siddhappa are very hospitable and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make us comfortable on our trips.
Location- very good Rooms- good Food- excellent Staff- well mannered, soft spoken Beautiful views in early morning n evening. Avoid Bidar trip n stay at resort if u r nature lover. Highly recommended for a getaway n relaxation!
The lodge is situated in Bidar, about 150kms/3 hours drive from Hyderabad. As any other Karnataka Jungle Lodge, staff is welcoming, food was good and the USP of the place - Blackbuck sighting offered satisfying views. Blackbucks can’t thrive in wild (easy prey) and are therefore bred in private reserves, which was about 20kms from the lodge. Deducting two stars for following combined with the casual attitude of office staff when we reported the matter: 1. No sign board on the trail road that leads to the lodge about 2.5 kms from lodge. 2. Wrong signage about 1 km from lodge. There are two paths and the one with lodge signage is not safe. Steep decline with loose sand and deep holes. A small car can easily get stuck. There is little to no phone signal in that area and no WiFi setup by jungle lodge for seeking help. 3. Lots of small mice were present in the cottage and one even crept inside our bed at night. While these things can’t be prevented in a jungle setting, at least an insect netting should have been setup in the bed. Some lizards were also crawling in and out of the house through roof which was kind of porous for them. 4. Given there’s no phone signal or WiFi in this place, a telephone should be provided in each cottage as an emergency connect with office. Some of the cottages are 7-10 mins walk and one wouldn’t want to venture in the middle of night for seeking help.…
