We are here for a year of English teaching, and while we were house hunting (yes, very "House Hunters' International!") we stayed for 2 weeks at the Phoenix (Eng name)The rooms are large, very clean, very well-appointed with big screen TV, and super bathrooms. Breakfast is included and it was an excellent buffet. Downstairs lobby clean, airy and cool, spacious and pleasant.

The rooms at this hotel are very large and are in very good condition. What lets this hotel down is the location. It is quite far away from the centre of town and there is not a great deal around the building. It was also very tough for an English speaker to deal with staff in the restaurant, as they spoke almost no English at all. No menu was provided either and I was given an option of only two dishes.

I stayed 1 night here without booking, Paid at Hotel reception. Price at the reception was same however considering credit card commission fee, It is cheaper to at reception than booking through booking sites. A single room I stayed seems to be a deluxe room. I meant the size of room at this hotel is bigger than what they are at other hotels. Each room has a balcony. It was useful for sight seeing, smoking, drying laundry. Perfect place. Location was silent, No noise making facilities around hotel. Breakfast. . Oh It was great.. The catering standard was same to 4 stars hotel in Hanoi. BIG C mart is less than 1 kilometer and we can take all bus to Vietnam - To Saigon and To Hanoi and Lao Cai.

Baggage left down stairs for an hour until we collected it ourselves. Very little actually available from the restaurant menu and what was available was very expensive for such poor quality. They have security at the hotel but the guard told us that the remaining bags on our bike would not be safe over night. Staff were sorry that we didn't like the food but kept telling us this was cheap. We could have eaten better quality food for less money in England so we do not agree.
