The nearest shop to the hotel is around 6 miles away. There are no amenities close to hand not even a village pub so you are pretty much isolated. The hotel is in need of a little TLC as are the rooms. The rooms are comfartable enough and the food was ok with 3 options for starter, main and dessert....

We didn't stay at this hotel, but called in for breakfast during our travels through Scotland. Despite the restaurant being full and the staff very busy, we were warmly greeted and a table was prepared quickly. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, nicely served and outstanding value for money. Very pleasing grounds and ambiance. Perhaps we'll stay next time!

With four of us on motorcycles and no place to stay, we came across The Garve Hotel. First impression was really great and Jeanette was so welcoming. She suggested we book two of their apartments at the rear of the hotel. With availability for two nights we checked in. We were able to park our motorcycles right outside the front...

Stayed here at New year. Lovely staff and owners. They really do treat you like one of the family. food is lovely Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. Local village is lovely but not much in the immediate area, but Strathpeffer is easily accessible.

On a recent Urquart Tour we were staying in this hotel. I can only say that it was really very very good. The hotel though a bit dated was extremely clean. The breakfast consisted of cereal or porridge followed by a cooked plate and plenty of tea and coffee. At dinner at night there was 3 starters to choose from...

We had a large room with a huge shower room. Very comfortable & clean. Staff all very friendly & helpful. We had the evening meal one night which was very good value for money. The wifi worked well in the public areas of the building & even in our room.

When you pay for a coach trip, you know if you are going to have five star luxury with excellent food or not. My trip I think was very good three star, the food at the Garve is very good, not a large choice but for me it was very good. The hotel is a little tired but my room...

Old but nice hotel looks like it caters mainly for tour buses and an older generation. The room was clean and reasonable facilities. We arrived around 7pm and decided to order a meal as we were told they closed at 7.30pm unfortunately it is a set 3 course menu with limited options and the food was pretty ordinary, I would...

We spent one night here during our NC500 road trip. We arrived just in time for dinner, shared with mostly elderly people from two bus trips who were also staying over. Dinner was nothing special, basic but OK. From first walking into the hotel you knew instantly the place would benefit from a makeover to bring it into the 21st...
