Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The hotel has a very nice location between a beautiful river and the beach. The premises are quite big and fairly well maintained, however the amount they charge for the room is way too high expensive. First of all they didn’t provide the room we booked at Agoda, putting us in River Front view instead of Sea View room, which we booked. Luckily provided us a 10% refund, but the room itself was not matching the rate the charged us anyway. Not enough towels, no soap, no kettle, the shower had running water all the time. The room was too dark. Also not well cleaned. If they charged us 50% less probably would even rate the hotel 4 out of 5, but with the rates they are charging now the value for money is simply not there.

Pros. -The reception staff was nice while checking in. -Atmosphere is lovely -close to Pakmeng pier Cons. -the lady who escorted us to the room just open the door and left. The room wasn’t cleaned after the previous guest checkout. Pretty slack.

We had booked and paid in advance for a double "Sea View Room" through Agoda. When we arrived all their "Sea View Room(s)" had already been rented out, although Agoda's booking confirmation clearly stated that we had rented and paid for a "Sea View Room". At the reception, nobody could speak English. The woman rang the Pakmeng Resort Manager and handed me her phone that I talk to her manager. I tried to speak to him. However, the manager could hardly speak and understand English. At the Pakmeng Resort, staff don't speak English at all. Only Thai. In the end we got a "River View Room". The manager claimed that the "River View Room" was MORE expensive than the "Sea View Room", but I would get it for the same price I had paid in advance to Agoda. From Agoda's website, I know that in reality for the "River View Room" is cheaper!!! Further, our "Riverside View Room" excluding bathroom with a bare concrete floor and not tiled as shown on Agoda's website and verandah was much less than 16 sqm, when the "Sea View Room" was supposed to have 30 sqm. My windows 10 laptop normally shows available internet networks. Internet was not available at the Pakmeng Resort. I requested a partial refund for the "Sea View Room" paid for in advance. Pakmeng Resort refused a partial refund. Agoda offered a cash refund of USD 9.94 as a gesture of goodwil, but refused to credit the sum to my Visa account. Agoda refused to answer all specific questions regarding the cash refund, which led me to believe that the cash refund is only meant for future bookings with Agoda.

We stayed here for just 1 night on route to Ko Ngai as we arrived late into Trang. It's about 40 mis from Trang Airport. I think we possibly were the only guests!!!! A big room with a patio overlooking lovely well maintained gardens. We arrived about 7.45pm and there didn't seem to be a restaurant open. Also it's in the middle of nowhere, nothing walkable to get a meal. Breakfast was included and was ok. They were helpful organising a taxi to the Pier. A word of advise, Trang Airport is tiny, we had already pre booked a cab which was waiting for us. We were the only westerners on the flight and as far as we could see there were no taxis outside.... pre book a cab. We used Siam taxis.... good price.

We tried to stay 4 nights and was told that only 2 were available. On the second night two bus loads of teenagers showed up with there own DJ, they set up and played music till late at night. I was told we could check out until 3pm when I went to check out I was told that the room was avail for two more nights, not interested. Then I was told I must pay 2000bath late check out fee, when I said "no" she just laughed. When I asked for my 500 baht key deposit back she tried to only give me 200 back. When I demanded the full 500 she just laughed. I think they were playing me for the dumb tourist. It is a nice place to bad the help treats you like a fool.

We went during low season so the resort is quite empty. Room is spacious, quite old looking but clean. Surroundings has a lot of trees. Just cross the small road and you can enjoy the long beach, watching sun set. Breakfast is not included but there are quite a selection of meals. No pork served. Wifi is free.

The room here was clean and spacious with a modern bathroom and fridge. The resort offered no breakfast or other meals but did have beer. This is right on the sea front set in a lovely garden. Ideally placed between the town of Pak Meng and Hat Chao Mai national park for those visiting the area with their own transport. There's minimal catering in Pak Meng during the off season but shops and a food court in Sikao about 10 minutes drive away.

We stayed in one of the cheap bungalows at the far end of the resort next to the river. At 900 baht they were very disappointing. There was a mild damp smell and the bungalow was a bit tired and worn. It felt unloved, if that makes sense. The windows were sealed shut, the TV had limited choice and terrible reception, no WiFi in the room, the aircon was filthy, the bathroom was adequate but could have done with a good spring clean. We were going to stay for a few nights but moved after the first night. The staff were nice enough and the place was pleasant enough in appearance but we got the feeling it was more catering to the Thai market than the standards of most Westerners. It is a shame because the location is beautiful. Please note: we did not look at the more expensive rooms so there is a chance that these might be to a higher standard.

No foreign tourists during long holidays of Thai New Year. Mainly Thai from other provinces as far as Northeastern parts. Mostly big family group with kids (who are running around, shouting & pushing your chair) Jungle style with rush trees in yards and green canal at the back. Mosquito is giant and fierce. Room is decent clean. A hair in bed and dust at corner but other things else is clear and comfort. Sufficient amenities e.g. towel, glasses, shampoo, soap, hanger. No hair dry or shower cap or hand towel or facial tissue. Service is delay. Room is not available at 1.45 pm (check-in time is 2.00 pm) At 4.30 pm, the receptionist calls my mobile that room is now available. No one at counter to check out at 9.00 am. Breakfast is good with great boiled rice. Dinner is ok. But always run of of some ingredients so some items are not available. Be warned: deposit Baht 500 for key. Cash only for everything. Guests should be informed when making reservation; not while arrived there & found these unpleasant inconvenience. Boat trip of this resort to vicinity is best value. Staff are helpful. Food and beverage included. Highly recommended. P.S. Thai superstar & his wife (the owner) are friendly and nice. Beach is excellent spot for sunset watch (maybe not for swim) Other restaurants or stores are 2 km. away. Bring snack & drink with you before check-in.
