Lovely hotel if a bit out of the way, although we did get the bus to Gloucester from the village. The hotel has been very stylishly refurbished. Very comfortable lounges and bedroom. Lots of hot water for showers etc. Views from our room were stunning although no lift might be problematic for some guests. Dinner and breakfasts very good. Nice...

So, let's start with the positives about staying at the Bowden Hall Hotel. It's a beautiful, listing building, with a luxurious dining and lounging area, where you can relax and plan your village-hopping to the Cotswolds. I can wax lyrical about the speedy internet connection, the wonderful lattes, sticky toffee pudding. We had elderly family members with us and I...

Basic! I've stayed in better premier inns that this hotel. The room was clean but so basic no luxury at all. The food was just awful , I can eat most things but not this meal. The staff were extremely helpful but the whole experience was a let down! Couldn't wait to leave.

Stayed for three nights in late April and used it as agreat base to explore the Cotswolds. The whole of this enthusiastic, kind and caring staff team is a tremendous asset to this Mercure Hotel. The refurbishment programme is working well and the hotel itself is in a very peaceful and attractive location. The Privilege room allocated to us was...

We are currently undergoing a bedroom refurbishment which includes all 72 bedrooms and corridors to complement the refurbishment we completed last year to the public area. Perhaps you would be able to...

Like I say, this hotel is at a reasonable standard for its rating and cost, but that doesn't mean that we were blown away. The building, once a stately home, is an odd amalgam of styles, as bits were added over the centuries with little attempt being made to blend new with old. This seems to have been carried over...

Just got back from a night at Bowden Hall. We got a deal on Secret Escapes. Guess you get what you pay for! The communal areas are lovely. The room was very dated and dark with only a double bed. We ordered 2 scones and tea in the afternoon which cost us £16 not worth it!! We had dinner inclusive...

Although the hotel does look a bit tired in places, we found it to be the perfect choice for a relaxing few days away. It was our silver wedding anniversary and we were upgraded to a huge room with a big four poster bed. This was a total surprise and we were both overwhelmed by the gesture. The staff were...
