Whenever we are in South Africa on holiday we either start or finish our holiday at The Clarendon Fresnaye. We arrived to a wonderful welcome from Adele and Mavuto (who treated us like family, he's such a lovely man). Emmy is on maternity leave - congratulations to her - but it is still a fabulous place in which to stay....

The rooms are large, and well laid out, and the hotel has a pleasant garden with a small pool. The highlight for us was the service. Nothing was ever too much trouble - staff recommended and booked restaurants for us, booked tickets for us to visit Table Mountain. They were friendly and efficient throughout, we couldn't have asked for better.

We spent a week at The Clarendon, Fresnaye, and were very impressed by the whole experience. The situation of the hotel is ideal for lots of the Cape Town attractions and restaurants - just a 5 minute walk away from the promenade at Green Point. The room we had was lovely and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pretty garden,...

Our planned accommodation in Clifton fell through at short notice and we were lucky to get a room at the Clarendon. From the moment we drove into the gates we knew we'd found a really special and welcoming boutique hotel. Warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating staff, from Adele ( stand in manageress/ magnificent chef and baker) to Maputo, Shadrak, Achmat,...

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Clarendon in Fresnaye. I dont think that we have had such personal service before, certainly not in Cape Town. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and then if we had any requests nothing was too much trouble. All the staff that we had interactions with were...

We spent 3 nights at this luscious property in Cape Town. The staff, especially Emmy and Adele, could not have been more accommodating. They even arranged a take away breakfast on our last morning when we had to leave at 4 a.m. to catch an early flight. The rooms, the breakfasts, and the High Teas definitely earned The Clarendon Villa...

This hotel was perfect for our 3-night stay in Capetown during our honeymoon. We love the boutique feeling where the manager knows your name and you feel like you are being taken care of. Emmy was perfect in welcoming us, making us at home, suggesting places to go and see and even making our dinner reservations. The staff here is...

A really nice hotel offering a lovely breakfast as well as tea and cake every afternoon. Wonderful pool area (there are 2 swimming pools) with comfy deck chairs. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place

I'm almost reluctant to give this treasure of a hotel a good review as I'm nervous it will become too popular and I won't be able to find a room. Ours was a late booking through an agent which I rarely do (Planet Africa Safaris - well worth using). The advent of Uber has made this home from home highly...
