Anil and his family are so lovely, they will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They also have the best dahl baht (order Nepalese style or it isn't spicy) I have tried. They have a beautiful garden to relax in and watch birds. Be sure to sit with Jit as he is a bird expert with a tone of knowledge. Anil took us rafting where he made it possible to see 2 wild Bengal tigers. I would highly reccomend staying here to experience the local culture and the national park.

After travelling from Banbassa in India we arrived in the town of Ambassa, then took a taxi to Thakudwara (13km south) which has numerous guest houses. We'd been approached by 2 men offering their respective guests houses to stay and their guiding services. It was hard to know who to trust. Luckily a Spanish fellow came up to me in the street and told us about his stay and safari at Riverside and highly recommended it, so we thought let's give them a go. We stayed 3 nights and totally enjoying it; a relaxed and peaceful family run guest house with many bungalows, comfortable room and bed, they provided good food, staff were friendly and there was wifi at the main dining hall. Having breakfast before the safari and chilling on the big veranda post safari was sublime. We did 2 walking safari days, which were super, Anil was very experienced and his knowledge of the animals and park made the full day's informative. It was very hot so I'd recommend that you take at least 2L of water for the day. The picnic lunch provided was simple but adequate. We were lucky to see Rinos, a Tiger, hog, many deer, monkeys, a lizard and many birds. Well priced, relaxed, helpful and we saw a tiger!!! - totally recommend.
