Sunsuri Phuket garners appreciation for its amenities like the sumptuous breakfast and kids' zones, alongside the luxury pools and comfortable, modern rooms, despite some calls for updates. While the hotel's location near the beach is a hit for those seeking serenity, opinions on value and room conditions are divided, with some guests expecting more for their money and others noting the need for a refresh in the slightly dated accommodations.
The service receives high marks for its friendly staff and attention to detail, and guests consistently commend the resort's overall cleanliness.

Detailed Reviews
The Sunsuri Phuket was a relaxing, luxury getaway for our family in January 2020. We had a suite, which allowed us to sleep two adults in a bed in the bedroom and two children across a sofabed and a camp bed in the living room. The pools were great, including a water slide, diving platform and three other pools, and were well-used by us and the kids. Also, the five minute walk to Nai Harn beach was handy. We managed to get an online special price for the hotel room, but otherwise it was on the pricey side, so made good use of Lucky 13 Sandwich 5 mins walk away, Thai Lagoon restaurant 10 mins walk away, and the 7-Eleven 15 mins walk away. Still, the food and service was uniformly excellent. Note you can hire a kayak from 1hr from the surf rescue people for 200 baht for an hour on Nai Harn beach, and there is apparently good snorkeling near the beach just on the other side of The Nai Harn hotel. It's a much more secluded part of Phuket compared with say Karon or Patong, so would suit people looking for relaxation and nature rather than night life.

Great place, stayed second time and wish to make it again.
The hotel gets cleaner till 2019. Food is good but if you choose a HB it may be more affordable to eat somewhere around with almost the same taste and wider choice. If you order the same dish everyday it will differ somehow, don't know why. Be ready for that.
The pools are good and clean.
The only thing that makes us upset is room cleaning, sometimes i had to ask a maids to clean because they just forget to do it. I think that the cleaning service must be excellent and invisible for guests.

We stayed here early jan 2020 wanting to be near Nai Harn beach and this was the perfect property. The staff were so amazing, super friendly , super helpful and ontop of all our needs all the time. We stayed in one of their larger rooms high above the treetops but it was quite a way from the lobby but the staff would always buggy us up on call and buggy us down whenever we wanted. Even when I had twisted my ankle at the beach one day a very helpful front desk member Jade arranged the shuttle to take me to dinner and back at the beach outside of the normal shuttle service! Thats service for you. Beautiful Nai harn beach is a short 5 min stroll from thew hotel or there is a free shuttle every hour too. The room we were in was huge and was one one of the highest points of the resort with great views. I'd definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing holiday.

Me and my husband were staying in the beautiful pool villa for our late honeymoon. The stay was nice and quiet. The villa I stayed comes with a high ceiling so we feel breathable and there are high trees surrounded the villa for our privacy. The villa was full of activity and relaxing combination with a private jacuzzi pool. This was our first trip after the Covid pandemic and it was a very much pleasant and romantic stay. There are full with amenities we need for the stay in place in the room and the housekeepers have done their great jobs replacing and restocking amenities and clean towels daily. There are beach towels had been prepared in the room ready to use. The staffs were greatly providing great supports. They are very polite and respectful. The hotel is providing a scenic view and has a very beautiful private swimming pool with a slider for fun play with families and friends. There are a big beautiful decorated reception and also a big gym with full of exercise equipments available to use. The hotel morning breakfast were great and very tasty. There are a daily special local menu provided for each day with a different menu daily. We were having breakfast with a beautiful swimming scenery and we enjoyed it very much.
The hotel located nearby Nai Harn beach and only 6 mins drives to Rawai beach and Cape Phrom Thep. We are best highly recommended this SUNSURI PHUKET for your stay and you won’t be disappointed!!

Before we travelled, we read quite a few reviews and fair to say, they were usually honest. We arrived to be welcomed to an easy check in with a coconut ice lolly and very friendly staff before our luggage was taken to a well appointed (and thankfully air conditioned) room (3305) with the biggest bed I've ever slept in! The room had a waterfall shower, balcony, Netflix, sofa, table, kettle, fridge, desk, phone, in fact all you could really wish for so we were happy. Top tip, there is a control panel behind the bed head to call for room service to clean your room whilst you're out which is very handy. We were however 152 steps away from the hotel lobby; fine going down, not so much coming back up, BUT having seen several negative reviews regarding this, it is fair to point out that a FREE shuttle bus operates to take you back up the hill from the lobby! Phew! The view was also pretty awesome over the lagoon across to the sea.
The hotel pool is a series of interconnecting pools, complete with a jumping platform and comfortable shaded area with large cushions and a poolside bar which was very comfortable, however the poolside glass is in desperate need of jet washing as it looks grubby. Free towels are provided.
Food; we stayed half board which was a mistake as food is so cheap to buy off site. It was also a little repetitive, with set menus (Thai and Western) for the evening meals, so if you didn't like it, choices were limited. Breakfast was reasonable, with freshly cooked omelettes, pancakes, doughnuts and noodles available, but the staples (eggs, sausage, and others) left under warmers were at best lukewarm. Theme nights broke up the menu and I have to say ALL staff both within the restaurant and hotel were superbly polite, attentive and a pleasure to interact with.
A free shuttle bus also took guests to the beach and back, taxis and trips could be arranged from the lobby, there is also a kids play room, well equipped gym, some evening entertainment and of course the spa (we didn't use it, so I can't comment).
To summarise; although advertised as 5*, the Sunsuri probably is better scored as 3-4*. Let down only slightly by the food, it does show patches of wear and tear (rust marks on metalworks, glass fittings need a jet wash and some litter within the grounds) BUT overall we had a VERY pleasant holiday. The room was very good, the staff superb, a five minute walk to the beach, so would I recommend it? Yes, if you want attentive staff, peace and quiet, and rock hard buns after climbing several thousand stairs over a two week period!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in October 2019 and we had a great time. The room is spacious and overlooking Naiharn lake, and the hotel's pools (there are like 3 pools including a diving part). We could also see a glimpse of Naiharn sea view from our balcony which is lovely. The pool bar staff we encountered was very friendly. The breakfast buffet provided a variety of food. I loved their freshly cooked egg dishes, and their choices of milk for the cereal. We liked spending time at their pools. They're clean and peaceful. The room was unfortunately not thoroughly cleaned. There were stains on the sofa cushions and on bathroom wall and floor (like molds). But, the room was well equipped. The best thing about the hotel is their security guard who was soooooooooooo nice and we could't praise him enough. He told us to call him Flintstones. :) Oh, and the guy (with glasses) who checked us in and out was courteous and friendly too!

The beach is 5 minutes away by buggy, or 10-15 minutes on foot, buggies leave every hour.
The beach is dirty: used condoms were lying at the entrance, they were not cleaned for 3 days, maybe more, we didn’t see them again.
There are rooms in more or less normal buildings, such as S1,2 and terrible ones: on the mountain, walking back and forth during the day is quite tiring, especially for older people. It is generally difficult to get to buildings S7, S8: you need to overcome about 2 floors on foot, then 4 floors by elevator, and then 2-3 floors again by stairs.
The cleaning of the rooms is disgusting. We had to beg for a change of bed linen; by default, bed linen is not changed daily; after asking for a change, sometimes they pretend not to understand, sometimes they turn it over and pretend that it has been changed. The towels are not supplied in full, there are always different quantities: sometimes one is missing, sometimes another.
Water, in addition to what is left in the room, is only available for a fee.
There is nothing in the restaurant for breakfast, much less during the day. The restaurant looks shabby: dirty cushions on the chairs, table settings without napkins.
There are no programs for adults or children at the hotel.
This is not a five star hotel, it's a three star hotel!
In a five-star hotel, at a minimum, they change linen daily and do not skimp on towels for Guests

We loved this hotel, upon arrival we received the complimentary coconut lolly which was amazing after a long day travelling :) a nice touch
We ate in the restaurant and left our luggage with reception until we had finished eating.
We were both then taken to our room on the electric cart which was fun,
We woke up refreshed the next morning, the bed was extremely large and comfortable, the room is well equipped with everything we required ( although a bottle opener would have been the only thing we really needed)
Breakfast was plentiful, even down to eggs Benedict cooked to order included which was my favourite, also noodles, breads, pastries and meats on offer, something for everyone.
Anyway we knew we wanted to travel the country so spoke with reception and explained we wouldn’t be around for 6 days and that we would be leaving belongings in the room, they were intrigued to know where we were heading and engaged in conversation which was nice,
We returned 6 days later from our travels to relax for our last 4 days before we travelled home, upon arrival the receptionist welcomed us back and instantly asked how our travels went, it was nice to be recognised :) .
The room again was spotlessly clean upon our return and believe me it was needed after we flew back in from Khaosan road Bangkok,
We had a shower and put the provided silk gowns on and just sat on the balcony to reflect on the past 6 days,
It’s a hotel to lay around and relax…….. or do what we did and enjoy the beautiful beach of Nai Harn which is 5 minutes walk away offering some beautiful restaurants to watch the sun go down OR travel the full country and go back to enjoy the last few days.
It really was a perfect trip for me and my partner, and we would definitely return.
A massive credit to all of the staff at this hotel :) they work so hard and it shows here because the level of professionalism from all of them is clear :)
Well done Sunsuri Phuket and we hope to see you all again soon ,
P.s we were in room 1206 :)

From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were amazingly friendly and hospitable. The hotel is in line with the governments COVID requirements and is excellent in managing this. Our room was beautiful, clean and we had our own pool as to minimize any risk. The food is super fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The hotel is a five minute walk away from the beach, which had only a handful of tourists and ex pats on, whilst there are super little eatery’s further behind beach wall. Overall, this hotel is beautiful, scenic and tranquil place with its family pools, a water slide a huge diving platform and great views of the nearby jungle and it’s ocean.

This was home base for our 4 day stay in Phuket and while we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, we did enjoy our stay. The staff was great and very friendly. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and the food was delicious. I have read a few reviews and they say the rooms are dated. Our was good. Clean and very comfortable. We had no issues. The rooms are large. The property and building sit on a hillside and the front desk has vehicles to help you get your luggage and yourself up to your building if you want. We were in Building 1 and usually walked up. If there was one disappointment, it was that the pool closed at like 7 pm. so after a long day of site seeing and hoping to hop in the pool, it was actually closed. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. We needed to do some laundry and found Beluga Wash about 5 minutes away from the hotel. Four wash and dry with laundry soap i think we spent about $15 for 2 loads. Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute ride. We used the app Grab, which works just like Uber. Cheap and fast. Yes, the resort is a bit dated, but it was fantastic and we would stay there again.

It's 25-30 minutes from hotel to Phuket Town. The best and convenience way to go by taxi and it's cost around 500-750 THB per way for 2 person sharing
O so sorry just see your question. 🫣 6 min drive with Moterbike you can find plenty of restaurants. Or 5 min walk there are some restaurants at the beach.
About one hour with taxi. The hotel can help you with transport if you want, or just crab a taxi at the airport.
