Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Reviews summary

Travelodge Hotel Hobart Airport offers a mixed bag of experiences, according to guest feedback. While the hotel's cleanliness and proximity to the airport earn high marks, the atmosphere is often described as lacking character. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, yet some have faced challenges with air conditioning and noise.
The staff's accommodation is noted, but the shuttle service's limited hours and extra fees for certain amenities have received criticism. Overall, traveler opinions suggest that the hotel provides the basics but could improve on service consistency and atmosphere.

Most unimpressed with Travelodge at Hobart Airport. Limited towels, $5 paid parking, one washer and one dryer at $5.00 a load, internet $9.95 per day. Use to be a good place to stay but now every cent is being squeezed out of travellers.

Airport Travelodges provide predictably good, clean, workable accommodation with an above average comfort bed. Dining is good basic fare, Hobart offering quite a good selection of local wines by the glass. Because of its spacious setting, this airport Travelodge has a more relaxing air and could even serve as a base for a couple of days stay in the Cambridge/Sorrel region.

Good for early flight . Rooms spacious and very clean. Front desk staff friendly and efficient. Restaurant staff very friendly however food wasn’t very good...would go to servo or subway next door to save money

All other accommodation was unavailable. booked executive suite. Room was adequate but service was appalling. Room was next to reception and carpark. Noise was constant. Water& drainage noises constant. Smoke from smokers outside the entrance wafted into the room. Even though there was a kitchenette, no washing up equipment was available. room wasn'r cleaned each day as requested. Rubbish wasn't collected from hallway all day. A used tissue on a seat near reception was there when we checked in on Thursday and is still there today, Sunday when we checked out. The restaurant wasn't operating for dinner or breakfast. There was a basic "grab and Go" option but inedible. Ther Uber eats delivery person wouldn't enter the building as the facility has been used as a COVID quarantine hotel. reception staff we dismissive and reluctant to assist with coins for the laundry, ice, washing up liquid, cleaning and extra towels. All of this for a grand total of $995 for 3 nights!! An "executive suite" should be better placed in the building and with better customer service.
Red Cross had a family placed in the adjoining room with small children. Their noise was disruptive and with the other noises that were heard in the so-called "soundproofed" rooms were relentless. The room was one bedroom with a lounge area and kitchenette, with a large bathroom and spa bath. The bed was comfortable and the bath a pleasant addition, but we would not stay here again and certainly not value for money.

We stayed here as it was close to hotel and it was towards the end of our 3 week drive around the Island and we were headed south so we did day trips every day and it was really convenient. Eith the Airport kess than a kilometre away there was no panic rush to get there fir our flight out. Its not noisy there either.I thought I would hear planes, but that was rare.

The hotel is about 2km from the airport, and ideal if you arrive late. It is also a good base for Port Arthur. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. The rooms facing the motorway are noisy, due to the traffic. Rooms 222-230 are the quietest.
There is a free shuttle to the airport for maximum 7 people. It runs from 7 am till 5 pm. If it is full, you have to book a taxi. You can only book the shuttle from the previous day. Food in the restaurant was good. Reception accepted to print our boarding passes.

+1
Our flight got in at 8.30pm and by the time we got our bags and car it was pitch black and even with the GPS I was glad we booked close to the airport, I still took a wrong turn as leaving the airport at night is a bit confusing even with GPS, in daylight its completely different.
We booked a room with a separate bedroom which cost a little more but meant the room was huge. The bathroom was huge plus we had a great little kitchen and lounge. Very clean.
The breakfast which we paid for in the booking was basic.
We would definitely stay here again. We booked direct so with breakfast for 2 it cost us $244 probably the cheapest night in Tasmania and it was far from the worst. So very happy a bit of a hidden gem.
Being close to the airport I was worried about noise , but I only heard one plane at 6.30am and that was all, heard none during the night, I think its far enough out of the flight path not to be a problem. And their carpark is also huge and well lit.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel a number of times since it first opened. Over time, if anything, the property has improved. It continues to be my "go to" hotel when I travel to Hobart.
On a recent solo trip to Tasmania, I stayed at the hotel twice during the same week. Both stays were enjoyable. I normally find airport hotels to be convenient but disappointing. Not so this Travelodge. I want to start by thanking Abbey for her gracious hospitality and over-the-top help during my stays. In a nutshell, on arrival into Australia,, both my smart phone and my laptop crashed and would not function at all. Abbey located a computer repair shop in the Hobart CBD and the shop was able to restore my devices. Without Abbey's help, I literally would have been unable to communicate.
As to the hotel, it remains perfect for my needs. Rooms are well maintained and have everything I need. The TV channels are extensive. Wifi {once I was able to get my laptop to work} had adequate bandwidth/speed. The guest laundry machines were clean and reasonably priced. The restaurant food was tasty and reasonably priced. The HVAC in the room was excellent. In short, both stays were perfect.
Rest assured I will be returning to this hotel next time I visit Tasmania!

Desk staff very good, couldn’t fault them. Waiter in dining rooms needs some basic training. Could do with more amenities in the room eg a flannel per person and a hand towel each. USB ports would be useful and magnolia walls “are so out”!

I appreciate everything that is being done to control Covid.
Now We are stuck here in quarantine; having visited a hot spot in nsw. fortunately only for 5 nights. This makes it very real!
I need to tell Tasmania health and any future guests that this room is substandard!
To be locked in here for quarantine is very hard, I can manage for 5 days if the room was ok. However, in this small room, where we have no escape ,we are subjected to the noise of everyone’s air conditioning and / plumbing. The noise is as though someone is having a shower in the room!
In addition, the bed is very soft and after one night, I have a bad back and in pain!
As a detainee, our rights are limited and a room change not possible,
However, when I had the opportunity to tell reception that the bed was giving me a bad back, the response was that they are all the sameness!
Not true, my husband’s bed is ok! I know can not sleep with the pain from sleeping in an unsupporting mattress.
In addition, The windows are filthy as well! We have to look out all day!
Yes, everyone is very pleasant and it is an unusual situation and we all need to try but if you want a quiet room and a good night sleep, don’t stay here!
There is always a shower, or whatever is the cause of this distressing noise, from about 5am until well after midnight! This is the biggest distress of being locked in a small room! Don’t stay here unless there is no choice!

Give the hotel a call, I cant remember if the shuttle was a 24 hour service or not, and you are right it will be cold.
The hotel provide a free Airport Transfer. Inform the reception upon check in.
No shuttle after 8 pm. Best option is to cab to Maui pick up that very night and then drive to hotel. We did that. Next day no rush to wake up and can leave hotel at your convenient. Otherwise you would need to cab to hotel and next day cab to Maui. Plenty of parking at Hotel. You can call Maui and change your pick up date.
Hope this helps. Enjoy Tasmania it is just BEAUTIFUL.
I was at the hotel in mid-November of 2018. I recall their shuttle only runs during specific hours. If I recall from 7am to 5pm.
I was lucky to have my tour operator drop me off at the hotel when my day tour was over. For my departure they arrarnged a taxi to take me to the airport for $5 for the short ride. It is really too far to walk it with baggage though. It appeared to me they had some sort od deal with the taxi driver.
It is free of charge, thanks.
"Pays to fly in before 5pm or use rental company that has collection at airport as taxis don’t like taking people the short distance."Read full review
