This somewhat quirky hotel is situated in a beautiful place for an escape, on Lock 15 of the Crinan Canal. Nearby are superb walks along the Crinan canal, and Crinan trail. The rooms have magnificent views, and THE most comfortable beds- which more than compensated for a few glitches with the hot water. It is family owned and the staff...

Taking advantage of the good weather, my husband, myself and our spaniel treated ourselves to a last minute wee overnighter at the Crinan Hotel. After a lovely, warm welcome, we were delighted to be advised that we had been upgraded and were shown up to a pretty and comfortable room with balcony. Our seafood dinner in the bar was excellent...

Failed to findany food at the Seafood Bar! We went at lunchtime relying on information shown on hotel website, also on menu displayed in their own window, that lunch was until 2.30. When we went in we were told lunch finishes at 2; as it was only 1.46 at this point, we thought it would be ok, but it was...

Can only apologise,as we did have a wedding and although the hotel had been taken by the guests for the two days we had planned to do lunches 12 till 2. incase like yourselves others arrived ,I cannot understand why you were not offered lunch at 1,46 as staff were still there .Notices were up all around but someone must...

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable 2 night stay at this lovely hotel situated at the head of the Crinan Canal. Superbly upgraded towpath on the canal, ideal for an evening constitutional on our bikes. We had a lovely room with a balcony and stunning sea view . We will certainly plan a return trip! The room was...

A wonderful overnight stay - arriving in the drizzle, walk up the canal, sun emerges and return to the hotel in sunshine showing all the beautiful islands out to the west. It's the only restaurant you go to where people pop out regularly to take a photo of the stunning sunset. 7 course meal was amazing - canapes, crab risotto,...

This hotel is located in one of the most picturesque areas of Scotland but it is desperately in need of refurbishment. Both the public areas and the rooms are very tired. We stayed for a friend's birthday and had dinner in the Westward Restaurant which was pleasant. The raised section of the restaurant has beautiful views over the sea but...

Thank you for your comments,I do hope your displeasure did not spoil your friend's birthday party,we do not seem to have had negative comments from them. It was of course May bank holiday and people had moved the plant pots to park. The fruit compote is cinnamon spiced has no tinned pineapple ,no pineapple at all and is very popular....

First of all, the hotel is situated in a wonderful location beside the Crinan canal. There are lots of good walks ranging from the easy along the canal path or more difficult up to the summit of the neighbouring hill but the views over to Jura and up towards Mull are well worth the effort. We ate in the bar...

To celebrate our 25th Anniversary we booked a table in the Westward Restaurant on a recommendation from a friend. We were met on arrival and shown to the lounge, where a lovely fire was very inviting. We ordered some drinks and whilst we were enjoying them the canapes were brought to us along with the menu's. We made our choices...

I chose this hotel after reading the reviews and seeing the gorgeous pictures posted on the web. What you need to understand is that the views of blue skies and calm seas are not like this all time. This is the west of Scotland after all ! But what I can say is that the views are ever changing as...
