Straw House B and B is a unique property. Being made of straw bale and stucco, this creates a space that is both warm in winter, and cool in summer. Our aim is to become self sufficient; adding solar hot water, solar for electricity and growing fruit and vegetables to start. We have also added Silver Perch to our dam which have bred, meaning that we can now have fresh fish, and the added bonus of a nice, clean dam to swim in. Chutneys and jams have become a part of a market life we enjoy. Most of these products are delicious with meats and cheese platters, not just on your toast. We choose to only use produce from our property so we know that they are spray free and delicious. Your continental breakfast includes a fresh fruit platter sourced locally, fresh artisan bread sourced locally, fresh milk and juice, as well as condiments and butter. You will find the rooms comfortable and spacious, with recently painted interiors to freshen the place up.

We had a family get together with kids and adults and we all had an excellent time. The farm animals are adorable, chickens, cows, alpacas and goats. We even got to collect the eggs in the morning and evening. The accommodation is lovely, comfy and fully equipped. We were there in mid winter and although freezing outside at night and early morning with frost inside our rooms we were nice and warm. The Hosts, Anna and Tony are so accommodating, oh and the breakfasts absolutely delicious. We had a BBQ one night (yes in the middle of winter) and we had a great fire to warm us with delicious food. We are planning our next trip to this region as there is heaps to explore and will stay here as it is central to all the wineries in the area, Stanthorpe, Warwick

Our stay at Strawhouse B&B was absolutely exceptional! We stayed in the straw cabin and it had everything you could need! Was a really comfortable stay. The animals are so friendly and we spent plenty of time wandering the fields with them. The hosts Anna and Tony were also incredible and provided so much information on local places to visit and eat and were very accomodating. Would 10/10 recommend for everyone!

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe and surrounds, staying at The Straw House B&B. Anna and Tony could not have been more wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than friendly and helpful and happy to chat.
Each morning a delicious hot, home cooked breakfast was delivered to the room.
The property was perfect for a wander at any time of the day or afternoon, which meant we spotted birds, rabbits and the gorgeous highland cattle, that are hand fed every afternoon with an invitation to join in.
The accommodation is at the gateway to the granite belt and literally around the corner from award winning wineries and Sam's the fruit and vegetable shop. We decided to drive back to Warwick on the Old Stanthorpe Rd, which had no traffic and really lent itself to the 'Sunday country drive'.
We had the most wonderful weekend away in the straw cottage, it was warm and welcoming and comfortable, with beautiful quilts and a homely feel, with the welcome treat of chocolate brownies and an eclectic range of reading materials if you came empty handed.
I wish we had more time to explore the beautiful Granite Belt region, but no doubt we will be back, and we know where to stay. Thanks again.

Stayed with some family and shared the straw houses on our roadtrip up to Northern Territory. The walls inbetween are not super thin, but the doors aren't super soundproof so you can hear a bit of noise throughout (no biggie).

Overall found it pretty basic for what you pay. The straw houses were fairly average, they are dated properties but that adds some charm to it. It's not super spacious inside, imagine studio and a single small sink in the bathroom. It is dressed up with 'luxury' amenities like sheridan items and nescafe pod machine with some toiletries but overall nothing fancy to gloat about when the remaining furniture is fairly basic. The lounge for example felt pretty dated. Very limited wardrobe and storage space in the cramped straw houses for more than a couple.

For $300+ a night there are better options unless you wish to explore the petting zoo as it is otherwise a working farm, and the ability to take your pets? I saw some guests in the newer cabins up the back withe their pets. Probably great if you love putting up feeds on your social media posts to help drum up publicity for this place.

The hosts are fairly relaxed and try to be accomodating but by no mean overly welcoming unfortunately. I found the meals to be ok at least you can use their bbq. Had better experiences at other B&Bs and farms in Australia with more comfort and friendlier hosts at affordable prices.

We thoroughly enjoyed three wonderful nights at The Straw House. Anna and Tony were very hospitable, provided amazingly delicious meals and were able to provide great tips to explore the area. The accommodation was unique and very comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time with all the friendly animals. The B&B was very accessible to Stanthorpe and surrounding wineries. We also enjoyed an easy drive down to Giraween National Park. Anna and Tony take great pride in their property, and we look forward to seeing it develop as they grow. We would highly recommend the Straw House and hope to stay again in future.

Straw House B & B was a special find and just the escape we needed. Hosts Anna & Tony were warm and welcoming but not intrusive, the accommodation was cosy and spotlessly clean and the farm so beautiful and peaceful. And we had the most sensational omelette, with farm fresh eggs, I have tried for a long time. Thank you so much we hope to be back soon Edwina and Ralph

We had the pleasure of staying for a night in the gorgeous strawhouse! From the time we arrived we were blown away. The personal touches in the house are exceptional; from the Sheridan sheets & towels, amazing shower and home made biccies on arrival. Anna was so very friendly and showed us around the house and invited us to feed the cows later in the afternoon. An amazing experience! They are one of a kind. Tony went above and beyond too by setting us up a campfire under the stars that evening and making sure we had everything we needed. After a relaxing evening and incredible sleep (the bed is like a cloud!) we woke up to an AMAZING handmade breakfast! The best corn fritters we have ever had. We have made exceptional memories at the Strawhouse and even better we have found new friends we now consider family. We are counting down the days until we are back again!

We went as a group of 8 and could not fault the entire experience from Tony’s Amazing Japanese pancakes to the evening fire pit with a glass or two of the regions finest. There is plenty to see and do on the farm and Anna and Tony couldn’t be more accommodating. The rooms are warm and cosy, beds super comfy, we couldn’t fault the place.

We had a wonderful stay with our two pups at the straw house cottage. A beautiful farm, friendly animals, gorgeous cottage that is immaculately presented with beautiful gardens and complete with big comfy bed and coffee machine!

Highlights were definitely the home baked treats on arrival and breakfast each day too - delicious, filling and varied home cooked meals! A surprise each day to wake up to. For a cosy night in Anna & Tony can also provide a 2-course dinner. Which we topped off with star gazing and roasting marshmallows around the outdoor fire.

Would highly recommend this beautiful BnB!!

Just returned from staying in the Big Straw House for 4 nights with 3 children and 2 adults and a dog and WOW!!! We could not have been happier with our stay, Anna and Tony both went above and beyond for us and our kids had the best time with Stanley and Hugo and feeding Alkan and Bahookie the Highlander cows every afternoon and then having a fire pit.

Everything is so clean and all the bedding and towels super soft and comfortable. The food was unbelievably good every breakfast different and so yummy, I think I want to come back again just for the food!!!! We had such a great stay and will definitely be back soon
