I had the pleasure of visiting the Wild Apple hill b&b with my girlfriend for 4 days. The location is a little tucked away, but only about 5 mins from Osler mountain, and 15 mins from downtown Collingwood and/or Blue mountain village.

The house itself is gorgeous, and Carol, is absolutely lovely. She was warm and inviting and the rooms were impeccaple with a gorgeous view of her 6 acre lot.

The cost was much cheaper than many of the other B&B we had found and probably the best experience we've ever had.
The breakfast were amazing, and feel free to ask Carol to make you her special "blue jay's nest". While having breakfast, we had the joy of seing all the squirrels, bluejays and various animals that come to feed on Carol's outdoor balcony. A true treat and a nice change of scenary from our normal Toronto views.
Carol is extremelly friendly, knowledgeable and Kody, her dog, is one of the nicest and well behaved animals I've ever met. Overall a great experience, and we're planning on returning in the next few weeks for another getaway.

My partner and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at Wild Apple Hill B&B.
We stayed in the Queen Room, it had a very comfortable bed and nice furnishings. We shared a bathroom with the Room With A View but that was fine by us. The bathroom was huge and very equipped which I though was better than having a tiny private bathroom as is the case in most b&b's.
Breakfast was very tasteful and plentiful! You wont need to eat again until dinner time after Carol's breakfast!
The property is really nice, about 5 acres with with beautiful gardens and walking trails. The house is about 8mins drive from Collingwood. There are great hiking trails around Pretty River which is just down the road (literally). Jim can give you all the directions you need.
Blue Mountain is about 10mins away, there are activities and restaurants there all year round.
If you want to go someplace nice for dinner go to JJ Long's in Collingwood. They have great food and awesome cocktails for very reasonable prices.
I totally recommend Wild Apple Hill B&B, it's a beautiful place in a great location with great hosts. I have attached a couple of photos. One of the house close up and the other one Carol took of the house from a distance with the fall colours all around.

One of the best B & B's and we've travelled the world! Carol and Jim were amazing hosts, like visiting family. We enjoyed the panoramic views of Georgian Bay from the deck while enjoying our personalized gourmet breakfast. The rooms were beautifully furnished and spotless. The hosts attended to all of our requests, and anticipated our needs regarding restaurants and activities that we would enjoy. The private natural forest trails (over 6 acres) are a must, accompanied by the host's beautiful and gentle siberian husky, Phantom! We'll be going back!

If you are looking for a B&B that has peace, privacy, and panoramic views of Georgian Bay, yet is only minutes drive from Collingwood and other places of interest, then look no further than the Wild Apple Hill B&B. Carol, the hostess of this B&B, succeeds in every effort to make her home feel like your own "home away from home". Breakfasts are delicious, plentiful, and visually appealing. Apple motifs blend in seamlessly with the elegant and tasteful décor of the entire property. Whether for rest, relaxation, winter sports, or simply a weekend escape... this is the place to be.

P.S. While there, remember to keep on the lookout for both wildlife and angels.

My husband and I have been to Wild Apple Hill Bed and Breakfast for at least five years and we go there about 2-3 times per year. The B&B is hidden in the forest, creating an instant peaceful atmosphere. The lovely grounds and beautiful decor of her home are the result of the owner, Carol Deffett. Carol is such a great hostess--warm, welcoming and extends herself to her guests.
A new lovely dining room addition has been added this year and what a sight. As soon as you step through the owner's front door you are suddenly struck by the stunning new dining room addition with it's arched entrance, and most of all, by the striking dramatic chandelier designed with leaves and crystal shapes that look like raindrops. The chandelier is enough to keep you chatting for some time, and you can't help but keep looking at it. What a glorious site indeed!! The new dining room table and chairs add to the charming decor. Lovely expansive windows surround you and you are left in awe as you overlook the scenic vast forest and breathtaking Georgian Bay that beckons you. The warm sun casts a ray of various beams of light in the dining room area, all adding to a soothing relaxing atmosphere. Eating breakfast in the new dining room addition is such a treat now and John and I love it!!

My wife and I decided to visit the Scandinavian Spa and looked around for a place to stay. Having never done the B&B thing before I wasn't sure about it but was so glad I did. This place was better than any hotel. Right from the start Carole made us feel so welcome. The room was great and I would suggest to others to get the "Room With A View". It has a private balcony with retractable awning so even if it does rain (which it did while we were there) you can still sit outside in comfort and see the lights of Georgian Bay and Collingwood. The bed was very comfy and even more important the pillows were great. Each morning we were treated to a fantastic breakfast which kept us going until late in the afternoon. Special thanks to Dakota for always greeting us outside when we returned to the house.

Another vote for "great breakfasts"! This is a charming B&B with a spectacular hillside view overlooking the Collingwood area. It's a short drive to Scenic Caves, Blue Mountain, Collingwood and the Beaver Valley. Carol was an accommodating hostess with lots of suggestions for what to do in the surrounding area. She was renoing to expand the dining room in early June 2015 so it should look great by now, with a big window facing the vista! The downstairs room with a walk out to the fountain and backyard trails was cozy, there's even a sauna if that's your thing. (PS: Carol, sorry I accidentally nicked the bottle opener from our room, I found it in my bag when I got home...)

We spent 3 weeks travelling Ontario, Boston, Maine and New England, and I can confidently say meeting Carol and Cody the dog was a real highlight of our entire trip. I was extremely sad to leave them both and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her beautiful house, gardens, trails, breakfasts, rooms, facilities and outstanding hospitality. She is one of the most interesting and warmest hosts I have ever met in my 25 years of travels! Outstanding! I hope the industry recognise what a truly wonderful experience she provides.

This BnB is absolutly terrific !
Carol, the owner, is a warm and welcoming person.
Her place is simply gorgeous : a splendid house with a terrific view of the Georgian Bay and its surrounding valley. The landscaping is astonishing with its garden and its numerous paths.
We had a lovely room, very private and very comfortable, with a large balcony. The breakfast was delicious and Carol went out of her way to accommodate a person with many food intolerances.

We were given a two night stay in the King's Quarters as a wedding gift. Lucky us! The house was absolutely beautiful, not to mention the views of the incredible landscape. Carol was a wonderful host who made us feel very comfortable. Her breakfasts were delicious! The house was immaculate and her flowers and pond were gorgeous. We loved hearing the little water feature from our room and also enjoyed watching the non-stop action of the blue jays and hummingbirds that would visit her deck. We had the downstairs to ourselves which included a large seating area with a big screen tv, outdoor seating area as well as our large bedroom with kitchen amenities. The location was very close to Collingwood where we enjoyed some great meals. We would return in a heartbeat and will hopefully pay it forward by giving a similar gift to friends and family!
