Detailed Reviews
Amin Resort is a bit away from Bang Tao Beach town but easy walking distance. It is a short walk to Bang Tao Beach and Sea Sea Beach Restaurant. It is quiet and the rooms are clean and a reasonable size, and staff are friendly and welcoming. Bang Tao Beach is a clean, top beach and relaxing that goes for miles. 1.5 hour walk, one way. Good, free, wifi. It looks a bit older and almost looks out of place where it is located, but the price is right for the budget conscious, particularly in high season.

We chose this hotel because it was close to the beach , very quite and cheap. You can get to the Bang Tao beach with a 5 minutes walk without spending a lot of money for a room with a/c and swimming pool.

I was most impressed with the Amin Resort, located near Bang Tao Beach, Phuket. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was immaculate. Good facilities, clean and smart. A good choice of meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We loved this quiet place just 100 yards walk to the beach. If you rented a motorbike ( or not) u can run for supplies and spend a nice time just enjoying NOT being at many of the " resorts" or hotels on this coast. We could not believe it was not more busy and we practically owned it. I would love to own this jem. The big sliding glass doors gave us a wonderfull view of of a lightening storm. The staff was wonderful and helpful in finding local markets to find our dinner to eat on our porch. So get near the beach without the noise and crowds. This is the nicest place we stayed in Phukett and at the lowest price. The previous review by "Smartnic" is a silly statement concerning Thailand, more than this hotel. And the bathrooms were great! My only suggestion would be to film the sliding glass doors with one way .‘

+1
I have rather controversial feelings about this hotel mostly because of its location. First, do not trust google.maps for location, it's all wrong, it is not even on their satellite image yet. Search for 'Anchan Resort and Spa Phuket' and the Amin Resort will be next to it. Now you see how far it is from the beach and, in fact, from anything else. First you walk to the main road, you cross it and continue on a pebble road - in clouds of dust if you have the misfortune to be overtaken by a vehicle - to the Bliss beach club. I took several pictures along the way to make it all clear.
This being said, some people will appreciate the fact that there is no development in the immediate vicinity of the resort, apart from two rather ugly houses of uncertain purpose that were being built just in front of it (again, see photos). You can see green fields and grazing cows from your window and I would have described the setting as picturesque had it not been spoilt by few rubbish dumps on either side of the road. They are not a pleasant sight and unfortunately you have to walk past them as you go to the beach, restaurant, laundry, etc.
As regards the location, I would probably recommend the resort to those who have their own means of transportation, be it a bike or a car. We had a car and we used it to go to remote beaches, so it was no problem, but this part of the Bang Tao beach is overcrowded and quite disagreeable.
On the positive side, the receptionist (Mei) was brilliant. Not only was she of a kind and affable disposition, but also she spoke fluent English. She managed to give a homey feel to the resort which was further reinforced by its isolated location and small size, just fifteen rooms.
Truth to be told, the rooms are not very comfortable. The air-conditioner blows directly into the pillows, a lack of shelves in the closet, ants in the room, the missing curtain on the back window, and a poorly designed bathroom prevent me from rating it above average. However, the price is very reasonable, especially taking into account that we traveled in peak season and we only paid about 80 euros a night.

The best part about Amin Resort is how far away it is from all the ruckus of Phuket - it's basically surrounded by fields of green...except for a rather ugly construction of small houses right outside. It's a shame, since without those two small houses the surroundings would be pitch-perfect. Staffs are nice and helpful. Room is fine, although the walls are rather thin (luckily next door are my friends). Pool though is small and a bit enclosed - would be nicer if it's a bit more open so that the sun could really make it warmer. Everything else is fine - room is clear and well-appointed. It's a bit far from the shops and the restaurants, but that's a-ok by me. It's not perfect, but it's also not bad. Recommended for those on a budget.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. It is a 3 floor, 15 room complex with pool and restaurant. The structure is quite nice with new installments. The pool is nice and catches afternoon sun (great for when you are coming back from the beach). The room is clean and bathrooms have modern toilets and showers. My only complaint about the rooms is that it seems the walls are paper thin. I imagine the first floor rooms (in front of the pool and next to the restaurant) get a lot of noise. The hotel offers breakfast. .. Nothing special and overpriced for what it is. In terms of location, it's near Pang Tao Beach (walking distance) but there is nothing else really within walking distance. We had a scooter and used it everyday. I would stay again if other options didn't pan out.

The hotel is only 5 min walk to the beach. Room was big, new, nice and clean. The staff was a friendly and helpful. Definitely a good place to stay. The pool was fine, but they didn’t clean that often I think.

I am currently staying here for 1 night as it was a great price and near where I need to be. Staff are friendly and accommodating allowing me to check in early and had the baby cot all readt in my room on arrival.
It's definitely not luxury but the staff are nice, rooms large and clean with comfortable beds, they have a decent pool to use and a little restaurant on site which served nice and cheap Thai food.
All in all a great budget option near bangtao beach.

Stayed a total of 4 nights here - the lady at the front desk was exceedingly helpful, and also spoke very good English. She coordinated all our transport, recommended places to see and helped us book tours etc. Rooms are not luxurious or anything but it is a very comfortable hotel to stay at and is a near walk to the beach.
