This resort was exceptional. All staff were meticulous and professional at all times. Immaculately clean. The beach was clean and private. Meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Wonderful Thai curries and noodle dishes. The restaurant staff watched for finished plates and quickly whisked them away, immediately refilled glasses. Just amazing attentiveness. The beds were super comfortable, big rooms with lots of desk space, window seats, and we could open up and hear the surf all day. We felt so spoiled. Our week there in September was unusually rainy and the high ceilinged, beach-facing dining rooms and hanging out spaces on 3 levels were much appreciated for their openness on a dreary day. Lovely cabins connected by elevated walkways through the forest. Lots of robes, slippers, umbrellas, and little extras. Fruits and cookies, bottled water at no charge. Nice library. The resort is about mid-island and so very convenient to many of Phuket's shopping areas, parks and sights, and activities. Highly recommended.

I did a ton of research on hotels before coming to Thailand. I had a hard time picking one hotel that had everything that we wanted so we ended up splitting our time between The Surin and the Rosewood. Post trip, I woudl say that I enjoyed my time at the Surin much better and would rate the Surin one of the top resorts we have ever stayed at in our travels.
Pool/Beach: If you are someone that actually likes to get in the ocean, the beach at the Surin was one of the best beaches out of any resort that I have ever been to. It was private, barely any reef and the afternoon waves were perfect for my 6 year old to master his boogie boarding skills. The pool was also great, the water was warm and the views of both the ocean and hotel were spectacular.
Rooms: The cottages had so much charm. Situated in the jungle facing the ocean, it was so unique. Our cottage was close to the hotel and pool so it was convenient. That being said, I could see how it could be quite strenuous if you were situated higher up or further out.
Food: The breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of food. We never got bored and I think I ate my body weight in mangoes.
Location: One of the main reasons that I couldn't settle on one resort was because I wanted to stay in one that was somewhat close to patong beach so that we had the option to go out a couple nights. The Surin didn't end up being that far away, about 20 minutes in an uber to north patong.
The SPA was awesome and I had a great massage by Poppy. That being said, it is American prices so if you are looking for something more reasonable, there are multiple massage places outside the front gates.
Another reason that we split up stay across two hotels was because the Surin didn't have a kids club and my wife and I wanted to have some time to ourselves on occasion. Thankfully the hotel had a baby sitter / nanny that worked for them for 15+ years that they recommended named Sorn and she was amazing. On the first day we got her, we could tell that she was great with kids and our kids were immidietly comfortable with her. We ended up gettiner her for 2-3 hours every day. Whether it was to get a massage, get dinner or go out for a couple drinks. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for some downtime while staying at the Surin.
Thank you Surn and staff for your hospitality. We will be back again soon.

Before arriving at the hotel I contacted them a couple of times to arrange a transfer and some spa treatments for our arrival, they got back to me promptly and professionally and arranged everything I asked. We arrived at the hotel early in the morning before our check in time and they were kind enough to give us an early check-in which was very much appreciated. The one bedroom cottage we stayed in was beautiful, very well designed, comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. Really nice toiletries, lovely little touches like mosquito spray, large beach bags, fans, flip-flops, beach hats etc. The only downside was we were in room 212, which was the closest to the car park, to be honest this was a bit of a problem as I am a very light sleeper and could hear the traffic from early in the morning, in hindsight we should probably have asked if it was possible to be moved but as we were only there for four nights it was fine.
The hotel is quite simple in its design but in a very charming way but without a doubt the best part about it is the stunning beach, it really is beautiful, without a doubt the best beach we have seen other than the Maldives.
Breakfast was really nice, lots of options from the buffet and also an à la cart menu, the staff were always really friendly and efficient. We had lunch twice at the pool bar which was really nice, we also had dinner at the beach restaurant one evening which we found slightly disappointing, the food wasn’t amazing, the service was slow and it was expensive. One evening we did the beach barbecue which was really nice, the atmosphere was lovely, very relaxed, lots of food choice and nice entertainment I would definitely recommend this.
Other than the hotel there isn’t anything else on this beach, however you can get a buggy to the end of the hotel drive and turn either left or right to find small restaurants, shops, places for massages etc. We had a walk to Surin Beach which was quite charming through the day and had lots of simple places to eat and drink very cheaply .
As many people have mentioned there are lots of steps at this hotel, please do not underestimate this, when booking the hotel we saw it as perhaps a good thing as it would be nice daily exercise but the amount of stairs can be quite overwhelming sometimes, especially in the heat .
All in all this is a really beautiful luxury hotel, lovely accommodation, amazing location, great staff.

We stayed in a beach villa with direct access to the ocean. The bay is beautiful! The view is cool! The water is warm, clean, transparent. There are no foreign people, paid sunbeds and merchants. The beach area can be said to be private. The villa is small, everything is minimal. The shower room is not very comfortable, it is small. The air conditioner is noisy, we set it to low at night, it's still loud. Room cleaning is 3 points)) I called and asked that the cleaning be done during our breakfast, apparently they didn’t hear us and came right when we were returning from breakfast..🥲 Breakfast is also three points for such a hotel. The menu says freshly squeezed orange juice, they bring it out of a bag and assure you that it’s freshly squeezed. Then they bring fresh tangerines and say that they don’t have oranges. They asked for a mango and pineapple smoothie, and they offered to go down to the bar and buy it. At breakfast there is no papaya, passion fruit, if you don’t ask, you won’t get it... Cheeses for breakfast are cheap, there is no jamon, some cheap sausage is lying around. Once there was a queue for breakfast because there were no free tables..😳 this is not acceptable for such a hotel. We asked for late check-out until 15:00 without additional payment, we were offered to pay. 20,000 baht, although our villa was free at 18:00 that day.

This is a beautiful hotel with generally good service . I stayed for 6 days in hilltop cottage. Although I was aware that location could prove challenging if had mobility issues I did not appreciate how much exercise was involved in staying there . I am very fit and go to gym 5/6 days a week and walk everywhere but found the steps to my cottage too much in the heat. There are buggies but they do not access most cottages directly . The rooms were lovely . Food was good . Gym was very good and the beach sports staff very helpful . I paddleboarded most days . There were some issues with service . My room was not made up a couple of days till evening and on second occasion only after my calling reception. I had asked for order of steamed vegetables with a grill menu option but was told that I could not have this as I was having roast potatoes but could take salad option. I didn’t take or wish the salad option and advised that I was content to pay extra for vegetables but was charged £6 which I felt was rather mean when I had eaten exclusively in resort and not availed of all options of that dish . The weather was turning as it was end of dry season . Some evenings there were downpours , but I felt it was more about getting the £ out of the customers rather than ensuring they ate in comfort and were not drenched . I struggled to attract waiters attention to ask that I get bill so I didn’t get soaked as they were still trying to take orders from other customers even though rain was starting and outdoor restaurant packing up. I had asked for late check out and whilst I appreciate this may not be available , there was no option of paying for another room to freshen up, but one had to book an hour and compete with other guests for your slot. Ultimately because of other issues with cleaning my room I was allowed to check out late but this wasn’t great experience for last couple of days . Manager was not visible although they resolved latter matter . Impression I got was that hotel was trying to recoup covid losses . This was part of a 3 week stay and had better experiences with other hotels which were both cheaper and more expensive.

We are glad to see that you enjoyed your stay overall and that you were particularly satisfied with your room and the helpfulness of our activities team. We’ve just completed a 12 night stay at The Surin.
The hotel and locations are excellent. The staff are highly attentive and very customer focussed. We ate food in all of the hotel restaurants as well as trying some Thai food in the local cafes / restaurants just outside the hotel gates. The steaks I had (twice) at the poolside/beachfront restaurant was excellent and the setting at sunset and thereafter is excellent.
My wife and I had Spa treatments, whist this was one of the larger parts of our bill (c£300) the experience was excellent and better than any other hotel we’ve stayed in around the world.
The rooms are good (not excellent) with amazing views of the beach / sea - ours was a little dated and had nosey air conditioning.
We had some other noise issues with neighbours and fruit falling from trees (an issue that only occurs for a short period every year), but overall this didn’t spoil our stay. Use the hotel complimentary umbrellas to protect you from berries falling on your head / clothes (they will stain)
Constructive feedback to make an excellent hotel even better :
1. Beach staff could be a little more proactive and remove plastic bottles from the beach if/when they appear 2. Fruit selection at breakfast was limited and needs covering-up/protecting from insects. The alternative being to add a bespoke fruit option to the breakfast menu (which was excellent otherwise, with a great overnight oats option) 3. Increased seating would be useful at the beach bar, as everyone wants to see the spectacular sunset.
Overall, excellent hotel with amazing staff, in a spectacular location - we’ll be back

This resort was amazing! It is on the more expensive side, but definitely worth it! The rooms are all on the hillside and it would be difficult to navigate if you have mobility issues. The rooms which are small cottages are set up on the hillside and are very private. There is a pillow menu and you can also order a mattress topper. We did order the topper as we felt the bed was quite hard. The food for breakfast was really delicious and there was lots of variety. The water at the beach was very calm and very warm! The beach at the Surin is amazing! We enjoyed the drinks from the beach service, especially during happy hour when they have the drinks at a lower price! The people at the hotel were very helpful. We visited the Beach Restaurant for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It was delicious! The tables are set outside by the beach and they had some music being played. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed the table lights that were pinned to the tables so you could see the menu and the meals! Lol. The Surin is a beautiful resort. Don’t hesitate to visit if you can!

I cannot recommend this hotel more highly!!! My daughter (11) and I stayed at The Surin for three nights. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. This hotel far exceeded my expectations both in terms of the facility and in terms of the hospitality and amenities.
After 24 hours of travel, we were exhausted by the time we finally arrived, but our concierge Fern greeted us with a lei, a refreshing tea, and a cool lemongrass scented towel.
We booked a beachfront bungalow and it did not disappoint. Literally on the beach, the bungalow was immaculately stocked with a welcome fruit platter when we arrived, and restocked daily with toiletries, coffee, tea, and water.
Restaurants onsite were incredible. The food options were traditional thai offerings as well as mediterranean. The buffet breakfast was out of this world. I cannot speak more highly of the delicious and diverse spread that was set out each morning. The staff even remembered us and brought us our drink orders each morning.
We enjoyed two spa services during our stay and I have never felt more relaxed. Before each service, we were welcomed with a delicious tea then taken to a private room where we could enjoy our services side by side. Afterward, we were given a fresh tea and driven back to our room in one of their adorable little "buggies"
24 hours is a long way to travel but this place is worth it!

This hotel lacks a soul and appears lost in so many levels. While the front-of-house staff are attentive and helpful, the breakfast service is poor.(expect to wait up to 10 minute to get a coffee) there appears to be no-one managing or directing the breakfast service staff. Housekeeping is another area that requires management focus, having left our room at 09.30 and return at 15.30 our room hadn't been serviced had to call reception to have room. cleaned. The room evening turndown service is hit or miss. Overall I was disappointed with this hotel. While the hotel is based in an idyllic location with spectacular views, the attention to detail and customer focus by all the hotel departments is letting the brand down. The hotel offer afternoon Tea (but your can’t get Tea/coffee at the afternoon teal!!

Rooms are a bit small, especially the bathroom areas for shower and WC. They feel tight and the lighting + ventilation is less. The washbasin sinks are also small and not too comfortable. Plus access to cottage rooms is only through stairs and stairs are quite steep. It’s a bit exhausting and not ideal on vacation. The housekeeping for the room can be improved. In other Thai resorts, they usually arrange the bed, bathroom amenities, towels very well and help to organize your toiletries also on towels. Here it felt the cleaning was rushed and not as pampering. Even the floor mats were left folded everyday and not opened or laid out. Food options are limited. It’s the same breakfast buffet everyday with no / minimal change which feels monotonous and not enough restaurants too. Pool bar and sunset beach restaurant menus are shared and Thai restaurant only open for dinner so lunch also is quite limited. Lastly the stairs to get everywhere in the hotel is very cumbersome. There is no lift/ elevator and the stairs are steep. Buggy also has limited reach to beach, spa and lobby and that also with few steps up or down, but to breakfast area, pool, restaurants, most cottages and rooms, everything is a climb up or down which is quite exhausting. The beach and sand is nice so that makes the property worth the stay and location is good + staff is very sweet but overall I’ve had better vacations in Phuket!
