Nestled on a picturesque beachfront, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket garners high marks for its idyllic location and tranquil setting, making it a favorite for a serene retreat. Guests frequently commend the warm and attentive service that adds a personal touch to their stay. While the hotel boasts commendable cleanliness and a selection of family-friendly amenities, opinions on the rooms and value proposition show some divergence; some visitors appreciate the tidy, renovated spaces, yet others mention outdated decor and question the value, given the cost of services and certain amenities needing enhancement.

We just returned from an 8 night stay at the Dusit Thani Laguna 2-bedroom villa. It's one of the older hotels in the Laguna area, but rooms were clean, the morning breakfast had variety and the entire staff from the manager to housekeeping and maintenance were extremely friendly. The beachfront is exceptional, with mature trees to provide shade for chaise lounges. The Dusit clearly cleans its beach regularly, as the hotel beaches both north and south of the hotel had a lot of debris on the shore. We visit Thailand every year and we'll definitely consider staying at the Dusit again for the wide, clean, swimmable beachfront. There is only one fully usable tennis court which we used every day (part of the second court is cut off by a newly built road but you can use it for hitting practice). There's a small shopping area outside the front gates for basic necessities, but for fresh fruits and vegetables and local restaurants with more reasonable prices, you'll need to leave the Laguna area, about a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride. Construction at and nearby the hotel didn't really bother us, and the hotel website did warn of such ahead of time. It's nice that they are updating the resort as they have such a great space to begin with. Sunset views were beautiful.

We vacation at this hotel every year in winter.
Excellent location for a relaxing beach holiday and holidays with children. A very green, quiet, clean area without noisy animations, but with all the necessary infrastructure on the territory of the hotel and nearby. This year, the left wing of the hotel and the swimming pool have already been renovated; communications and hotel lawns are being restored after the pandemic; routers have been promised to be updated to improve Wi-Fi power. In this regard, we advise the hotel to also restore the tiled path along the entire beach, which is now covered with sand. It was very convenient for an evening promenade along the sea. As well as plantings of flowering bougainvillea, which previously decorated all the balustrades, and orchids on the trees, and again breeding colored carps and lotuses in the pond.
Another advantage is that, unlike other hotels, this one has its own clean fenced beach. And the sunbeds stand in the shade not of rare palm trees, but of Australian pine trees! Which is very rare for the tropics.
But I would like the side passage to the beach from the Xana club to be completely closed, and the signs indicating the private area should be turned towards the sea. In order to limit the passage of ill-mannered savage tourists into the hotel territory, they often brazenly occupy the sunbeds of hotel clients, take towels, use the toilet, the pool and leave their garbage. At the same time, the hotel incurs unnecessary costs and receives complaints from its customers. The hotel has many opportunities for children's activities and activities, there are trainers and nannies. Wonderful spa and dedicated area for beach massages. There are no queues in the hotel restaurants, very good, rich breakfasts for every taste and preference for children and adults, and always plenty of juices and fruits. But for lunch and dinner the children's menu is very limited. Of course, there are restaurants on the Canal nearby serving a variety of Asian, European and even Russian cuisine. But going there with children every time is, of course, less convenient.
And if you expand the healthy menu for children, and for adults add more dishes from fresh sea fish and seafood, the hotel restaurants will be full in the evenings.
We believe this is beneficial for both the hotel and its clients.
Moreover, the hotel has a system of discounts for regular customers and Gold Club members. We encourage everyone to join this program.
What is especially valuable about this hotel is the very attentive and kind attitude of the hotel management and staff towards each client individually. For which we express our gratitude to all of them and wish them prosperity and success!

The hotel is in a great location, backing onto a huge sandy, clean beach and with a small market/couple of restaurants outside the gate. The vibrant Boat Avenue area is approx £5 in a taxi where there are plenty of restaurants and shops.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa which was fabulous. It had two bathrooms, several outdoor spaces including a splash pool, a kitchenette and separate lounge. Facilities wise, probably the best room we’ve had as a family with teens!

The hotel has a nice pool with a little slide for the kiddies and while we didn’t use it, appeared to have a good kids club offering.

The hotel is being renovated which we were warned about. It does need a bit of a spruce up in places but this didn’t affect our stay. However there is some construction happening around the Laguna which did wake us up early a couple of times.

We stayed bed and breakfast which also included afternoon tea. Breakfast was varied and fine in quality. The pool bar/room service offers reasonably priced pizza/sandwiches etc. We didn’t dine at the hotel in evening as plenty of offsite options but onsite restaurants not that compelling. They don’t need to be with lots of choice nearby.

I had an excellent spa treatment. However this was expensive and extremely reasonably priced massages are available for £10 in the town.

We were happy with our stay and for the price we paid think it’s a very solid choice.

We stayed at the hotel in February 2024. The hotel is large. The location is excellent, almost in the middle of the entire Laguna beach. The sun loungers are located on the hotel grounds, where tall pine trees grow, which provides natural shade from the sun, and this is very good and comfortable. The hotel has 4 restaurants, one of which serves a buffet in the evening, with a huge selection of dishes and snacks. Cost 1,550b per person, drinks separately. It's all partly outdoors with sea views and live music. Everything is very decent. You even have time to watch the sunset. Cocktail parties (as they call it) are held outdoors once a week. In fact, this is an open buffet with individual dishes and snacks, which you already buy as much as you “fit” + drinks, of course. There is also live music. The lobby bar also has live music every day. The rooms have a hairdryer, ironing board, fresh fruit every day and drinking water in abundance. Cleaning 2 times a day. The staff is super: at the reception, in the restaurants, and the maids have great respect for everyone. The hotel is designed for families with children. There are just a lot of children. In general, we were satisfied with the hotel.. I won’t write about Bang Tao - everything here is very decent:. There is a free semi-open bus. By taxi - 200b from the hotel to the central part of this place.

This hotel is in a lovely location with the beach on one side and lagoons behind it and we were lucky enough to have a room with both views.
The hotel was undergoing some renovation work whilst we were there but even though it looked significant the disruption was minimal to the point you didn't really even notice it was happening other than seeing the great moves forward in paining planting etc...
Breakfast was buffet style, both with sea views although the beachfront one was better for views!
Service was impeccable and the facilities in the hotel and room were very good. A shower room was available for you if you left later in the day after you had had to hand your keys back in.
The hotel location is very good. There is a small shopping and food court area close by with a night market on Sundays. The beach front has lots of little bars and smoothie places if you want to avoid the hotel costs although the bar do serve by the pool and beach area.
If you want to walk or use the free shuttle buses the main town is not far away and full of places to eat and drink.
Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to see what it looks like after the renovations.

Dear Joanna S, Thank you for sharing your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a fantastic stay and appreciated the unique location of our hotel, nestled between the beach and lagoons. It’s wonderful that you were able to enjoy both stunning views from your room – what a treat! We’re glad that the ongoing renovations had minimal impact on your experience and that you appreciated the visible improvements such as the painting and planting. It’s also great to know you enjoyed the beachfront breakfast spot with its beautiful views, along with the impeccable service and convenient facilities like the late-day shower room. Your description of the nearby shopping area, food court, and beachfront bars paints a perfect picture of the local charm, and we’re thrilled that you took advantage of the hotel’s proximity to these spots. The free shuttle buses and easy access to the main town are definitely great perks for exploring the area. We’re grateful for your high recommendation and kind words about the hotel and staff. We hope to welcome you back in the future so you can enjoy the completed renovations and another memorable stay! Warmest regards, Waraporn Angsupasirikul Manager - Total Quality

We bought a room with a sea view. We were checked into a room overlooking the gym and its dirty air conditioners, which were constantly making noise. The sea was visible somewhere in the distance. Every day for a week, after the room was cleaned, no towels were left. Every day, returning from the beach, before taking a shower, I had to call the reception, ask them to bring towels and sit waiting for them. There are old tired sunbeds and torn towels on the beach!!! I have never seen anything like this in any department in the world, not even in Africa!!! There are abandoned massage tables on the hotel grounds. You need to either do a massage there or remove them, they do not decorate the hotel area at all. The pool is small. I liked the sea and nature. The Italian restaurant is good.

We have been returning to this hotel for many years in a row, having previously visited 5 other hotels on different beaches of PHUKET. We like the beautiful, uncrowded Bang Tao Bay, 6 km of white sand, azure sea without living creatures and algae, and clean beaches in the shade not of palm trees, but of Australian casuarina pine trees. Dusit has the longest and cleanest private beach, sunbeds in the shade and in the sun, on the sand and on the grass, there are 4 fruit tents on it, and the beach is monitored by security, it is safe to leave things on the sunbeds.
All hotel staff are very attentive and friendly. From the building you go almost to the sea. The rooms are spacious, there are 4 restaurants on site, a children's area and a children's pool, a beach area and a wonderful Spa. There are plenty of other places to eat near the hotel to suit all tastes and budgets. Special thanks to the hotel management, who personally monitor all hotel services and customer opinions every day, so the entire service is impeccable.
Of course, after downtime during the pandemic, renovations in the rooms need to be completed and towels on the beach and soft upholstery in restaurants need to be replaced, the menu in restaurants needs to be updated and the menu for children needs to be expanded. But much is already being done, and will undoubtedly be completed.
We wish the hotel a quick recovery after the pandemic, further success and prosperity!
We recommend it to everyone, but for families with children there is no better place

The hotel is environmentally friendly and fully worth its price. We stayed in a “premier” room overlooking the sea, the room is quite spacious, comfortable, with a huge bed, all the necessary equipment, from slippers to glasses for sparkling wine. The staff is friendly, there is a Russian-speaking representative. The hotel is finishing the exterior of the buildings and preparing for the season. The territory is quite large, well-groomed, green, birds are singing, and the sounds of nature make you feel as if you are in the jungle. Once we saw a monitor lizard swimming in the river on the hotel grounds. Breakfasts for every taste, varied, various yoghurts, fruits, dried fruits, breakfast cereals, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, pancakes, waffles, delicious non-soy sausages, salads, vegetables, sliced meats and cheeses, juices, coffee is brewed. The beach, in my opinion, is one of the best, the sun loungers on the beach are normal and in good working order, the towels are 50/50 new, some are well-worn, but it didn’t matter to us which ones to lie on. On the beach you can rent a jet ski, drink a cocktail, walk along the coast and find a cafe for lunch. The sea is warm and clean. The hotel is located in a convenient Laguna area. We are completely satisfied with our holiday and the hotel. We thank all the staff for a wonderful stay!

Second time in this hotel. I really like the location of the hotel, the beach, greenery, redwood trees. There are restaurants on site for different tastes, and fruit on the beach. Breakfast is varied. We never left hungry. Room cleaning is normal, if something is missing you can always ask the girls serving the rooms, they will help with a smile. The staff is friendly, always smiling and saying hello. Receptionist Ilya, special thanks, always helped and resolved any issues. We will come again in the future.

We rested at the hotel in December, we have been holidaying for several years now. The hotel’s location is great: a large area with large trees, so there is natural shade, which is very important - there is somewhere to hide from the scorching sun. It also has its own beach. The hotel is very good, although and not new, but half of the hotel after renovation, they say that they will renovate the other wing this year. Good breakfasts and restaurants in the hotel, there is also Boat Avenue nearby, where there are a huge number of different restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly, I especially wanted to mention the Russian-speaking manager at the reception, who is always ready to help at any moment. Perhaps the only disadvantage of the hotel is that a huge number of outside guests can enter the hotel premises, easily take beach towels and then use the hotel infrastructure, The security and sports staff are inactive, I would especially like to draw the attention of the hotel management to this. I would also recommend introducing a system of bracelets, as in Turkey, and then it would be possible to determine who is one of our own and who is a stranger. I also spoke with a guest from another hotel, she was vacationing at the Cassia Hotel and said that she had purchased a subscription for a whole month and could walk and use the hotel’s infrastructure. It’s a shame that when you pay such a lot of money, but in the end you could pay five times cheaper and have absolutely the same rest.
I hope the hotel will correct this small defect and next year you will have a much better holiday.

Hi there are plenty of restaurants around 5-10 minutes walk down Bang Tao Beach. The town you are referring to is Cherngtalay and its about a 20 minute walk, it would be safe to walk that or about 300THB in a taxi available at the front of the Dusit. We have been to this hotel around 10-15 times and its superb
