The Meridien Mai Khaw Beach staff was efficient, the resort fairly well maintained, and our room extremely comfortable having being upgraded, I think, being a Marriott gold member. Access to the beach was good. It should be noted that this resort is obviously geared towards, at least this was my experience, Russian families. Lots of children.

The breakfast buffet afforded a lot of selection, and the food was good. Unfortunately, and I’m not certain how the hotel would change it, both hotel restaurants were old 1980 cookie cutter Marriott type set ups. Nothing special!

The Russians guests claim many of the lounges by the pool early on, and there is little or no service provided by staff during the day. No staff ever came by to ask if we wanted a drink or something to eat. The lounges were never stripped of towels once a party had left. The pool operation is a real downfall of the Meridien.

Due to the hotels location, there is very little choice with respect to dining outside of the property without calling a taxi or a grab taxi. We did go to the Melia one night and had an excellent dinner. As one would be aware, when traveling to Phuket, there is a cartel on taxis, and the prices are 3 to 4 times higher than would be paid in Bangkok.

Paradise on Earth

Previous year we stayed at the same region as a couple so this year having the kids with us we wanted to come again to the same region but with a great kid friend resort.
Le Meridien Mai Khao had just opened (i think they took it over from Holiday Inn) and we were one of the early guests who came to stay.

Firstly beautiful, clean, simple but elegant resort. We had a family room that had bunk beds for kids with their own room. The room was gorgeous, decorated perfectly. Had the sweetest toys and coloring. Had all other necessities for the parents, coffee machine ( important for me) , great balcony and comfortable bed.
The pool was fantastic. There was a section only for kids with slide, buckets and water fountains. Kids simply loved it.
And then the beach - i can never get bored of this perfect beach. The sand is soft and smooth perfect to walk and play. The water temperature is neither cold nor hot perfect. Yes there are some waves so you cant leave the kids unattended but i personally love it.

The kids club was also of the best one we have been to. Really new, creative and impeccable. Our boys loved it. The toys were all very thoughtful, new and uncomkon so very attractive for children.

There were only two restaurants which were great but in case you want different things to try there plenty options around it. For instance stance one time we went to a local Phuket Restaurant that our concierge recommended and was fantastic. We also went one time to Benihana at JW Marriott with kids that was also fantastic.
Also the staff was very helpful, thoughtful and always had a smile on their face. So relqxing to be around them.
So overall it was the best vacation we had.

It was amazing experience. Very cosy, quiet and peaceful atmosphere of relax.
The best thing is the hotel’s beach that gives you the feeling of staying on an uninhabited island, so deserted and clean it is. There is a rural area around the hotel, so it’s the great place to escape from hustle and bustle of big cities.
We were lucky to celebrate Chinese New Year in a hotel’s restaurant. It was so beautiful, nice music, The staff did their best to welcome guests and make their visit memorable. We really appreciate the team of Nah, Ae, Far, Tang, Mai, Tum, Nudn, Bank, Slof and Noolak (hope, haven’t either forgotten or misspelled the names)!

The check in and check out process is ridiculously slow. 15-25 minutes each. Most of the clerks seemed very new at their jobs and were unsure of what they were doing.
The A/C in the room was poor: worked well at times in the day but poorly at night. Seemed to be on some uncontrollable timer. The power went out twice in four days.
The food is overly expensive for Thailand, feels like you are being taken advantage of.
The pool and beach care is very substandard. No one is removing towels left on the loungers. There is a rule posted that loungers left unused for more than 45 minutes will have the towels/possessions removed for others to be able to use the lounger. Good policy. Not enforced whatsoever, however. People were staking out loungers early in the morning, not actually showing up for hours, and keeping them all day whether there or not.
There is no daytime care of the beach beanbags and seats, nor is there anywhere near enough of them.

Too bad, since the pool and facility are nice. The beach is nice. The jellyfish limit ocean time.

The resort itself is about an hour from downtown Phuket, so that is a significant inconvenience.

we stayed at this lovely hotel with my family , the staff were friendly and helpful special thanks to Mrs. Aoff, Ms. Tuang, Raju, Bank, Kay, and all there other staff.
The staff greeted us with warm smiles of welcome, It was clear that the hotel staff valued excellent customer service, and they made us feel like valued guests from the moment we checked in. Apart from their friendly and warm reception, the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. the hotel staff was attentive to our needs and always ready to assist. They promptly responded to all our requests, whether it was for extra towels, room service, or directions. If we had any questions or concerns, they were available to address them, and their cheerful attitude made our interactions with them pleasurable. The attention to detail and the personal touch that the hotel staff brought to their service was extraordinary. In conclusion, the hotel staff's warm reception and exceptional customer service were a highlight of our stay. We left the hotel feeling like we made new friends, and we look forward to returning back to this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay that is filled with warmth, comfort, and exceptional service.
Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable."

We chose these hotel as we were looking for a beach resort and the beach here is wonderful. Not too packed, spacious and serene.
The hotel has beautiful amenities but service lacks in pretty much every area. It didn't feel like a 5-star resort and definitely didn't have Le Meridian level service.
Mai Khao beach is already quite isolated so there is not many food options nearby and in the hotel there were only two restaurants available for lunch and dinner. The menu was okay but you had to wait for a very long time for your order and there would be a mistake every time. The pool restaurant was the worst, every time we went there we had to wait for over an hour and the staff would forget half of the order. One time we had to leave after an hour with no food and just waited for it in the room.
Ordering room service or being on the phone at all was quite painful as staff barely spoke english so they didn't recognize things we were trying to order off the very limited room service menu.
Every time we tried calling guest services the call didn't get picked until second or third time we called.
The room was beautiful but design was quite weird as there was only one draw and less than half a closet to hang things. We were staying for 2 weeks with a toddler so it was quite inconvenient not being able properly organize and our clothes had to stay in the a suitcase.
My son and us really enjoyed kids club, its brand new with great toys and lots of activities to choose form so it was a highlight for us. Everything else needed lots of work.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort! The facilities were top notch and service and hospitality were impeccable.

To our surprise the dining options were delicious as well and were of great value! More specifically, we loved the traditional Thai plates served at J's Restaurant. Staff members Fern, Noolek, Wut, and Nah K. provided exceptional service and made sure we were taken care of every time we ate there.

Our only critique of our first time experience at this resort was the rejuvenating spa package that we booked directly through Le Meridien website when booking our room. We loved the massage and the facilities; however, we felt the advertisement was a bit misleading because it sounded like it was a true spa package experience. We were under the impression the massage was included in the package price and that "package" also included other services, as this is the case with most spa packages at other high end resorts (usually it is a massage, facial and or mani/pedi type package per guest) However, when we checked in, the staff was not aware that we had booked this package--though our hotel price included the package. They then noted that our booking included one massage but we could add on another for a reduced priced, which we ended up doing. Had we known this "package" was not truly a package, it would have been cheaper to book our spa services directly at the hotel.

Other than that, we loved our stay and would come back again if we were vacationing in the region!

Nice and lovely hotel at Mai Khao beach, Phuket. This hotel very close to the Phuket International Airport that only 20 mins car tour to reach the property.

And all the rooms are new here with comfortable sofa bed in the room. My room has a terrace that could enter a private pool on the first floor.

What’s more, hotel provide 2 free drinks and 2 ten mins Head and shoulder Spa free to the guest. But you should book in advance! Very nice experience!

And you could have local Thaifood at the Nook. Then another seaside restaurant provide western cuisines with nice sunset.

We stayed here for 12 days over Christmas The hotel had recently re-opened as a Le Meridien and are yet to be fully staffed, which was a bit of an issue as they were full over Christmas . It is clear that they are still finding their way. However, the staff were excellent. Our room was well maintained by Nim and Nam. Nim(?) in the Spa and the F&B staff including Pat, Soipan and all the others went out of their way to look after us despite the challenges.

The food in the Ocean Kitchen restaurant was good but some Thai options would be nice to see. Breakfast was an exceptionally busy standard buffet. It would be better if the Ocean Kitchen was opened at such times. The Christmas dinner was fun thanks to the staff but the food presented required a rethink given the flies.

The beach is a highlight. Having Miles of relatively empty golden sand to walk and enjoy was a pleasure.

It could be a fabulous oasis away from the Patong area once the management sort the staffing levels and sort some of the food issues.

Overall we had a very relaxing stay

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and generally speaking it's fine, just not great. The rooms are clean and stylish as they were recently renovated so we were very pleased with that. When we first arrived, we've also been greeted by friendly staff especially Nigel who also served us some tea and cold towel. The issues with other services started to surface when we ordered room service on day 2. All breakfast came cold - room temperature at best. And when we phoned the front desk to let them know the situation, there was no solution nor apology offered apart from the front desk lady offering to come check the food which would have been pointless as we phoned them 30 mins later. And on the same day, although our room was made, none of the toiletries like body wash were refilled. We also had no water and had to ask the staff to provide which should have been placed in the room after cleaning up. The food at Nook was good and so were the food at the Ocean Kitchen. However, there were a couple things missing here and there which I guess added on to the experience we had. The pool was ok - crowded though as guests seem to come hog on sun beds early in the day. The beach looks lovely, but there were jellyfish so beware!

It‘s around 20-25 minutes to the airport. Book a BOLT car (similar to Grab) which is more reasonable than a normal taxi. No, there aren’t any beach restaurants nearby. Can recommend the Yenjai restaurant but it’s on the main road; about 1 km away

I don’t think Denge has any preferences when it comes to hotel brands and services… mosquitoes are everywhere in Thailand (and many other countries). I just use some repellent spray and seldom get bitten. As for the hotel, it’s great!
