We stopped here overnight on the way south. Located on the main street of this tightly packed old town, the hotel building is about 200 years old with solid stone walls. Our room consisted of an entrance room with wardrobes, good size bathroom and stylish bedroom with thick local carpet (Aubusson is famous for carpets and tapestries) Although we overlooked...

This was our second stay at the Le France, we managed to get the last room after a disastrous AirBnB experience. Smaller than our last room but spotlessly clean. Once again, the staff were lovely, the food in the Restaurant superb and a lovely breakfast. We travel regularly to the region and will definitely stay again.

We spent four nights during a wintry February at this traditional hotel in the centre of Aubusson. Firstly, the staff were lovely, polite and only too happy to assist. While not fluent in English, they always made an effort. Rooms are simply furnished but comfortable and warm. Rooms were turned down and cleaned daily. The breakfast (an extra EUR10 each...

A very nice hotel where you feel the history in the walls. A fantastic atmosphere that you do not find in new and modern hotels. The staff and the kitchen is superb! We had dinner and lunch before we left. This is an affordable hotel where you feel at home. We will for sure be back.

On arrival the hotel staff couldn't do enough. Free parking was arranged for us, but a little walk was required. Room was clean and comfortable. Set Dinner was great, considering there were 35 of us for dinner, well done to the chef to get all the food out on time. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. A lift is available. Very...
