We stayex 2 nights with 1 day in the parc. Easy access to the parc and admission 30minutes before the others in the parc. The room was spacious enough and good beeding except for the foldable sleeping bed/additional bed.
The cleaning could have been better, a few spider webs seen. We also had a small terrasse.

Breakfast buffet: fine but missing bacon. Also there was no gluten free option at all which was disappointing, and gave very little option to eat.

Dinner buffet was nice and also the bar/restaurant near the reception on the ground floor with fixed menus served at the table ( reservation needed) was good.
A good place to stay if visiting the parc Asterix.

Our family of four stayed while visiting Parc Astérix. Room was great with separate bunk room for kids and lovely forest features. Buffet dinner and breakfast were amazing, even had wild boar pate. Appearance of a couple of Astérix characters in the lounge was a highlight. Offered shuttle around to official Parc shuttle service to CDG airport.

Tip, if catching the train from Gare de Nord to CDG 1, you catch the bus from the train station. You don’t need to go to the actual terminal. The shuttle is outside terminal 3 near the Ibis hotel.

Us and the family had a great stay at the hotel. The breakfast was lovely, the room was spacious. We had our own room and the kids slept in a bunk bed. The bathroom had a fair amount of space aswell, so enough room to move.

The breakfast was very complet and fully stocked. With enough choice, but not too much.

The only downside is that, because of the rain, the room had a slight sewery smell to it. Something you’d stop noticing after a few minutes. The staff checked for an other room, but being fully booked, they made sure the room smelled nice, by masking it.

We would like to warn future travellers about the very unprofessional behavior of the hotel in these Corona times.

We have booked a school group of 188 kids from 18-20 may 2020. Of course due to Corona the group was cancelled by the hotel. We have absolutely every comprehension of this situation.
What we do find very disturbing is the non communication of the hotel. No confirmation of the closing. Allmost 10.000€ dissapeared. No voucher. No proposition for repayment. No proposition new date. We have been trying to get in kontact with hotel sales services groups without succes. Or you do not get threw or you will not get passed reception. Nobody wants to handle the case. In the best case they answer you that someone from sales will call you back wich of course doesn’t happen. What do we tell the school and all the parents now? Even in these difficult times for everyone we must continue to communicate and help eachother. Solething this hotel hasn’t understood very well. So warning when you book in these Corona times.

One positive note: our experience with the hotel in earlyer years was positive!

Room very clean and nice.
Nice breakfast.
Good bar.
Not the cheapest hotel but it is worth the money you put in it.
There is no seperate toilet in the room, it is in the bathroom, you should know this when you travel with 6 people.

How do you rate such a unique hotel? It is simple, but a great place to stay, thats why I ranked it "above average". It is a theme park hotel, so made for families. And they are on of the only really thinking of how family with kids can stay comfortable in a hotel.
The hotel is just outside the park (you can see and hear the roller coasters) in the forrest. It looks like a forrest lodge. Made out of wood and consists of 3 buildings. Two buildings contians the rooms, the other ones restaurants etc. Kids can play in the forrest why their parents are enjoyinging wine.
The rooms are simple buit well overthought. As you enter the room you will find two beds for kids and two doors. One leads to the bathroom, the other to the parents bedroom. All rooms have a balcony or terrace. Kids can go to bed early, and the parents can still enjoy their evening life, without disturbing the kids.
I have been here twice now, I love this please, the simplicity, the way it is well overthought and the silence of the forrest in the night.

During a 3 week stay in the north of France in July 2006 we (Granny, Grandad, Mummy, Meghan [8] and Lewis [5]) visited the Asterix Theme Park and spent one night in the Hotel des Trois Hiboux. We did not know what to expect so were delighted with what we found. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming and we loved the bedrooms especially the bunk room for the children and the balcony. The only down side was that we were there on what was probably the hottest night of the year so the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms was disappointing. In spite of the heat the children loved the park and are now Asterix fans. In the evening, after an enjoyable meal in the hotel, we spent a very pleasant evening on the terrace at the edge of the woods - an entertainer moved among the families doing tricks, creating balloon swords, characters from the Asterix stories etc. The children played together among the trees until it grew dark and everyone went to bed tired but happy. In fact we are going to do it all again in 2007.

We stayed at this hotel for a week (it's a long story re. why it was such a lengthy stay - basically I'd say fine for a 1 - 2 night stay but clearly not the sort of hotel you'd voluntarily stay a whole week at). It has good and bad points.

GOOD POINTS: Fantastic setting in a wood, with rooms in smart wooden Chalet type accommodation. The rooms - albeit quite small for a family - are very clean and the shower was excellent. Beautiful architect designed building, very sympathetic to its woodland environment. Only a 10 minute walk from hotel to Park Asterix (or you can drive to park in 2 mins - parking is free for hotel residents). Lots of tables for sitting out at in the evening, you also have the option for dining outside which is nice given how hot it can get in August.

BAD POINTS: The restaurant is expensive - it is a fixed price and works out at around £60 for 3 (if your child 16+) and then drinks on top are very expensive so you end up spending a minimum of £70 for a below average meal. The dinner is "self service" -a buffet system where you help yourself to salad, cold meats and a choice of 3 x hot dishes. When busy, we found the restaurant staff didnt keep the hot dishes stocked up efficiently so you can be hanging around waiting for more food to come out which is very irritating. There was waitress service for drinks at our table but you could wait a long time before anyone took your order and, like another reviewer has commented, we found our waitress to be quite surly and prone to getting orders wrong. In fairness, I'd say over 95% of guests are french (Asterix not being as well known in the UK) so possibly the issue is that the staff dont normally need to speak English. Another downside is that the rooms are not air conditioned and it was very hot when we stayed so it was uncomfortably stuffy and airless at night. Each chalet room has a door which leads to a wooden verandah but we couldnt leave ours open as we were on the ground floor backing on to a wood and the security chain had been removed from the door so there was no means to securely keep it ajar. And yes, like a previous review, you get one wafer thin pillow per person!!

In summary, if you are visiting park asterix and can afford this hotel, I'd recommend it purely because of the convenience and - as a seasoned traveller to Disney Paris hotels - it compares favourably with its equivalents at Disney. But like any theme park hotel, it is not cheap and I'd personally avoid the restaurant for dinner. You dont have much option if you havent got a car but if, like us, you came via the euro tunnel so have your own transport, I'd recommend a 15 minute drive to Chantilly in the evening where eating out isn't cheap (though no more expensive than the Trois Hiboux) but it is a much nicer experience. Mind you - if you do go out for dinner... make sure you get back to the hotel by 11pm as the park gates get LOCKED at 11pm and there is some complicated "buzzer" system to re-gain access from that point!

We were probably the only family at the hotel that did not come to go to Parc Asterix, a theme park featuring a children's cartoon character. We were looking for a hotel for a couple of nights not too far from the airport to wrap up a two-week stay in France. When I found this hotel with bunk beds for kids, I was sold.

The hotel is on the park grounds, and is accessed by a dedicated exit from motorway A1. You have to wind though the park entrance roads a bit to get to the hotel. The advantage is that you get a feeling of seclusion only a relatively short distance north of Paris.

The building is a rustic style, all in wood. The rooms include a deck or balcony overlooking the woods. Although you could hear the screams from the roller coaster during the day, the park closed around 6 or 7 PM so it was dead quiet in the evenings.

When we arrived there was a mime dressed as a bellman going about the hotel entertaining the kids. He waved in a car parking out front as though he were bringing an airplane into the gate; he started a fire in the lobby fireplace after a series of comical false starts. Oddly, there were no actual bellman. Baggage transportation is strictly do-it-yourself.

These rooms are built for families. Our kids loved the bunk beds, which even included their own little night lights. The bathroom even included a short log to be used as a step stool for children to reach the sink. Unlike our other hotels this visit, the tub had a full shower curtain, with a French-phone-style handheld shower. No spraying all around the bathroom this time!

There was no air conditioning, but we stayed during a time when the weather was cooling off so it wasn't a big problem. We opened the balcony door for fresh air, although with no screen we let in the odd insect.

The hotel has a restaurant, which exceeds expectations for a hotel restaurant, especially when you're a bit of a captive audience (it takes a few minutes just to get out of the park, and the only exit is onto A1; it would take at least 20 minutes to get to an outside restaurant). Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of typical continental breakfast foods but also proper hot foods, like creamy scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, that Americans and Britons would appreciate. Dinner was two options, either buffet or order from a menu with a choice or two or three courses. We had the buffet dinner there two nights, and although the food was good it was almost exactly the same both nights, so boredom would set in during a longer stay. I have to rave about the ice cream. They had strawberry, pistaschio, vanilla, and chocolate, all of which were of very high quality with rich, natural flavors. They tasted good enough to be Berthillon, but I don't know if they were.

You can't find a better hotel for families.
