Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Caravan trip - Booked 1 night stayed 2, $38 per night with ensuite site, nice friendly managers, they are doing a great job, quite hot when there, lots of ants, but I'm sure they were waiting for the rain to arrive…. See Michelle, she has ant sand 😉

There are a lot of drive-through sites available. All these sites have en-suite bathrooms attached and they were clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. It is a short walk into town.

The Major Mitchell Caravan Park is one of my absolute favourite places to stay in South West QLD - It's right on the river with fantastic amenities and only a short walk to the local artesian water pools, shops and cafes. The customer service is amazing - You'll always receive a warm welcome from the park's owners!

Booked a cabin for one night after a big day driving. The cabin was clean, bed comfortable, outside table and chairs for a sundown drink. Comes with undercover parking. Staff friendly. 5 minute walk to town, the springs, pub, bakery and butcher. Very good lamingtons at the bakery. Good meat at the butcher and they will cryovac the meat which is great for roadtrips.

Great 2 day stop over! Spent a whole day at the town spa and excellent local museum near by. Cheerful chatty locals very proud of their town. Queen size comfy bed in clean self-contained cabin. Clean mini fridge, utensils and crockery, electric frypan, chilled wine glasses. Not enough well placed bedside power outlets for those travelling with CPAP and phone chargers. Undercover parking. Friendly service, great value. Just 2 mins drive to town, delivery available from local cafe. Aircon split system in the cabin if you need it. Disappointed in the tiny 900x1200 deck in the Lawson cabin far too small for outdoor chairs and table so they put them outside on the gravel. Not conducive to relaxing arvo drinks but faces west at least so enjoyed the rich sunset and busy bird life. Nightly communal fire pit nearby provides opportunity for mixing with others. Would stay again next trip.

Booked way in advance and confirmed a week out. Arrived and was checked into our ensuite site. Site and ensuite was very clean and overall the park was very tidy. Let down (not the parks fault) was that out of the four pubs in town, 2 were closed and the other 2 were not doing food. Hard to get a meal in Mitchell at night.

Great caravan park and nicely looked after. Host were friendly and helpful at all times, really enjoyed my 7 night stay. Loved the bonfires... provided an opportunity to meet other camper. Only problem I had was not being able to book by phone, not everyone has internet facilities.
