It was such a beautiful location. The camper trailer sites were generous, facilities were clean and camp kitchen easy. Platypus and wallabies on site. Small shop just in case you forgot something. Also a bar for afternoon drinks. Short drive to the entrance of the gorge.

Great position for access to the walks in Carnarvon Gorge. We took a caravan and sites were a bit tight but the amenities were good and clean. The price for sites seemed high but this is a very popular site. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Loved Takarakka. Staff were great, safari tents were comfortable and clean. They are short of staff at the moment like everywhere else, wouldn't mind working there myself. I feel they are doing well to keep it together. A great place to base your self for the Carnarvon great walk. The beer at happy hour was icey cold, just what I needed after six days hiking.

We have been here for 4 days, from the moment we arrived the place has been fantastic. From checking in, the staff were 5 star, the amenities are very clean and well maintained. Each park is of good size and close to amenities block. We had the roast dinner on Saturday night, Delicious, service 5 star, really enjoyed ourselves. Could thoroughly recommend this place for a nice relaxing break.

We stayed on a powered site for 4 nights. The staff were friendly and in terms of facilities it was comfortable. Plenty of toilets, lovely hot showers which are much needed after a big day of walking (although I suggest having a shower in the afternoon rather than evening so you do get hot water). The creek on the grounds makes the perfect spot for platypus sighting - we saw 2 on our first night on sunset, and another one in the early morning. There are communal camp fires throughout the grounds as well as fantastic camp kitchens. We splurged and had the roast dinner - $35 each for 2 courses. It was delicious and we were lucky as 'seconds' of the roast and dessert were offered (this isn't always the case). Thanks James for your commentary! Every day from 3-6pm the 'bush bar' is open and drinks are reasonably priced. It is nice to mingle if you want to with other guests. There is also an informative video about the Gorge at 5pm. All in all, we loved our time there and highly recommend Takarakka Bush Resort.
