As always first impression is my last with the team at Altitude Smiggins are next level from start to finish. Home away from home feeling, fantastic staff with amazing leaders (Lisa & Phil) are the reason we continue to return.

The Lodge is a delightful place to stay on the snow. The staff, admirably led by Lisa & Phil all go out of their way to help and make you feel at home.

The staff were second to none, and went over and above their call of duty to accommodate our every need. It felt like we were with family from the word go.

Location is perfect, comfortable clean rooms, beautiful meals. Can’t wait to return to Altitude Smiggins!!

We have been travelling to Perisher/Smiggins on and off for 25 years. We have tried out every possible way to stay in the area eg Jindabyne, Perisher and Smiggins. In the past ten years we have concluded staying on-snow in Smiggins Holes is the best option. We have tried a number of different establishments and now have a good idea of what's great and what's not. Hire gear on-snow so you can change fittings if you need to. Easy to return.

This is a comfortable, warm and friendly lodge. Rooms aren't huge for a family of four but a loft area is able to store excess baggage. Beds are comfortable. No tea making facilities in room but you can get this in the dining area. Bathroom - toilet lid did not stay up - not great when you have a family of boys. (This was an issue in other rooms as well). Some cleaning issues here as well.

Dinners were to a high standard. The only problem for us was that we were a large group and could not sit together due to the configuration of tables. No flexibility here and it was a first in first served basis. As this is our annual family get together (coming from different areas) we wanted to be together. This could be a factor in deciding where to stay next year.

Also an issue was the split times for children's and adult meals. We had to upgrade our younger teens to adults to enable them to sit with us. (Other families we spoke to did not like this arrangement as well). Instead of having children sit at 6pm and adults at 7pm why not have two family dinner times. One for the families who want 6pm dinner slot and one for families at 7pm as run at other lodges. Maybe worth a try.

Staff were helpful and nice apart from the above inflexibility. A great feature of this lodge is their pick-up service between 4-5pm in the afternoon to take you back to the lodge. (Also run a drop off in the morning). On site parking if you book ahead and pay extra. This lodge ticks most of the boxes.

The rooms are clean, very neat and tidy not that we spent much time in there when the snow had our name on it. The Staff at the Lodge are very Friendly and most helpful. Of a morning they dropped us down at the snow, after the Fully laidout breakfast and then picked us up in the afternoon. The bar is open at 5.30 and the fire was lit and waiting for us all. The children sit down to there beautiful, yummy, and filling dinner. The 4 course dinner is prepared by Head Chef Andrew and staff and is of world class standards these are served to you every night. The Childeren are well looked after By Manager /Teacher Lisa. Anyone looking for a wonderful family stay or a place to meet your friends for a great holiday /get away on the snow this is A MUST place to stay 10/10 for Lisa and Staff.

I've been to the altitude twice now and I don't plan on staying elsewhere any time soon! The customer service here is second to none. They really want you to feel at home - But I've never cooked myself a 4 course meal - So, they've really outdone themselves.

With a gourmet chef, amazing serving and bar staff, and very friendly owners, I recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to ensure they're going to receive the best for their money. Its really makes a ski trip worth the money!

Morning breakfast buffet (hot and cold) is included too! Makes the difference for a big day! Don't miss this place!

Location - it's 'on snow' so that's convenient, but The Lodge occupies one of the higher parts of Smiggins so it was an effort to walk the distance from the snow to the front door in ski boots & carrying gear, although free transport is provided by the Lodge between certain hours in the morning and evening.

Like a lot of the other accomodation here at Smiggins, The Lodge has seen better days with old and in some parts, falling apart facilities. The rooms are small, the bathrooms have old fittings and generally an odd colour scheme throughout. Not sure if my sheets were changed from the previous occupant ??? In house shampoo ect below average so bring your own.

Seperate gear room with no facillity to lock your equipment, open to anyone, so bring a cable & lock. Same for boot drying room.

The staff were mostly just doing their job and not going out of their way to be all that friendly, although when engaged did appear to be helpful.

The food was usually of a very high standard from a set menu, but Sunday morning breakfast was distinctly ordinary with some hygiene issues and small servings without a smile. It was a case of 'first in best dressed' with regard to seating arrangements for dinner, so if you have a large group and want to be seated at the same table then turn up about half an hour early.

Overall, not as good as some of the other accomodation here, but if you are here for skiing and just want a value for money place to sleep and eat then The Lodge is for you.....

We're back! Eight years in a row! Staying at Altitude- The Lodge Smiggins has become an automatic entry in our calendar. All four children have experienced the right of passage from the kids dining table to the adults dining table once they reached 15. Over the years we've been joined by both small and large groups of family and friends, and every year Lisa and her staff look after us like we're part of her family! The food is fabulous and the drinks menu has something for everyone. The rooms and facilities have been upgraded over the years, but that's not what makes Altitude- The Lodge Smiggins a sensational place to stay - it's the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by Lisa and her staff. Parking at the door- make sure to reserve one! Daily drop offs and pick ups from the slopes or SkiTube - no problem! Special dietary needs- no problem! Clean, warm rooms- always! Log fire started every afternoon for great atmosphere in the lounge, dining and bar areas- amazing! Pre-dinner bar snacks/nibbles while the children are being well fed and looked after- yum! Kids entertained with a movie or activity while adults enjoy a delicious three or four course dinner- priceless! After dinner retire to the T.V. lounge downstairs, join your kids in the games room, grab a board game from the cupboard, dive into your bestselling book, participate in the weekly trivia quiz, watch the Wednesday fireworks above the ski slopes, chat with other guests or simply roll into bed- you choose! In the morning a full skiers breakfast is served from 7.30am - cereals, bread/toast, fruits, juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, freshly baked muffins as well as a terrific hot breakfast! Whether you want to ski, board or relax inside with your favourite books, Altitude- The Lodge Smiggins is our favourite winter/spring family and friends getaway destination. Thanks also to Phil for juggling our booking each year when we are gathering final numbers for our group! Snow or no snow- staying at Altitude- The Lodge Smiggins is already marked on our calendar for next year!

We have stayed at The Lodge for a number of years now and why we keep coming back is the great food, excellent service from Lisa and the crew and friendly atmosphere of the Lodge. I was originally recommended to go because of the amazing food but the whole experience is so worth it. They make the normal difficult experience of getting the family to the mountain an absolute joy, helping to create some of the best family holidays we have ever had. We will definitely be back.

My partner and I stayed at The Lodge in late August for 3 nights, it was just beautiful! Don't be fooled by the photos, unfortunately they are a little out of date. The highlight for me was definetley the staff. They are lovely people who go out of their way to chat with you and make you feel special. I was there for my birthday and one evening for dinner, they bought a slice of cake out with sparklers in it and everyone sang happy birthday, and they also left a bottle of free wine and two glasses in our bedroom one afternoon. It was those touches that made us wish we stayed there the entire week! The dinner is a 4 course meal every night, and is rather fancy but very nice! Kids sit down at 6pm for a separate dinner, and the adults all sit down together at 7. Brekky was also awesome! The bathrooms in the deluxe snow view rooms have been updated and modernised into beautiful ensuites. Staying in a snow view room was definetley worth the few extra dollars as we got a stunning view of the mountains. I could not recommend this place highly enough!! Oh, a bit of a tip, every Wednesday night is Christmas at The Lodge, EVERYONE sits down for a roast dinner together, Christmas carols are played, and in good weather, Smiggins put on a fireworks show. :)

We stayed for a couple of nights last season. We were picked up on arrival at Perisher ski tube and transferred to the Lodge at Smiggins. It was only a 5 minute drive down the road. Checking in was easy and hassle free. The room that we were given was really nice. It is not that big, but it was welcoming after a long day of travel and most importantly it was clean.

Although it is not in Perisher itself, there was no problem getting there. There is a free shuttle from Smiggins to Perisher and the staff gave us a lift down to the shuttle bus stop after breakfast. After a day's skiing in Perisher, we took the shuttle back to Smiggins. From the bus stop, it is about a 5 minute walk up to the Lodge, however we were pleasantly surprise to see the Lodge staff waiting at the bus stop to take us back up to the lodge.

The service was impeccable and the best we have ever seen in the industry. The food was one of the best we have had in the mountains and a highlight of this resort. Lisa and her team is highly professional and friendly.

Great place to stay, we’ve been going there for the past few years for Interschools. Nice people, comfy, good food and value for money, if you want a place to stay on the snow. It’s a 7 min free shuttle bus ride to Perisher. Child friendly.
