This hotel is an absolute perfect choice and we’d strongly recommend any first-time family visits to Phuket to base themselves at this resort. The resort is large and enjoys a semi-private location at the end of Karon Beach, which is a large strip of sand that also has public access.
The resort has stunning views of the sea and the rooms are large. In our opinion, we found the rooms slightly dated but it wasn’t much of an issue. The staff are incredibly helpful and courteous and always smiling and offering their support. The gym is of a good standard and the restaurants on site are very high quality for lunch/dinner.
There is a very highly rated authentic Thai restaurant based on the beach which is absolutely delicious and very cheap priced (in comparison to the hotel outlets.
Overall the hotel is really comfortable, clean and well located to visit surrounded towns and market areas. It is around 30-45 minutes away from Phuket Old Town and 10-15 minutes from Patong.
Areas of improvement (in my opinion) would be the quality of the breakfast. Whilst comprehensive I felt it wasn’t the best quality that would be expected of a 5*. That being said, we will absolutely be back if we ever visit Phuket again. I cannot strongly recommend this hotel enough!

I had an amazing stay and experience, the rooms were so nice with a great balcony view, comfy bed, cool big nice bathroom with a bath, delicious food, awesome fun big pool, and great service. The design of the resort is just stunning and makes you feel so special and you can legit walk out of the pool to the beach with waves and is a good beach to swim at, called Karon beach with parasailing and umbrellas down the other end. There were plenty of gorgeous sunsets that we saw from the balcony, pool, and beach. The resort had nice pathways with a river with fish in it and nice plants and trees. It’s a great location to travel to different activities like going to Patong and Kata which is really helpful. The hotel had security and would organise transport for you to get around with a nice lobby, entrance, seats, Starbucks cafe, gift shop, travel information table, and toilets. It is a big resort but it isn’t that busy or noisy so it’s really nice when walking around, swimming and eating at the restaurants which has amazing food choices to choose from. The pool has a fun section with 2 jump rocks one big and one small with deep water so you won’t touch the bottom, 2 slides and a little one, and has a waterfall. The pool had plenty of seating, sand, spa, adult pool, and a swim up pool bar. The resort had a spa place and a gym as well which looked good but never went in. The resort supplied swimming gear, towels, and things you can hire like a sea scooter. The entertainment was really good, Tina and Vili were very friendly, fun, happy, kind, and entertaining while in the pool and around the resort. We played many pool games, sport games, aqua aerobics, nice chats, and adults could play too. It made our stay and time happier, enjoyable, entertaining, and fun. The whole resort (Everyone) had great customer service and staff as well from the cleaners to reception, food truck, buffet, restaurants, pool bar, and had good English and were so kind. Ida, CD, David, Sat, Charlton, Santa, O, and many others were just very accommodating, caring, fast, friendly, approachable, calm, and happy! They all made our stay so very special, happy and enjoyable. I would recommend this resort to anyway coming to Phuket Thailand!

Great hotel, check in a bit slow as they wanted us to download the Centara App. Also they required about £500 on debit card to cover “a deposit” on the room which we would receive back anything up to 14 days once checked out. Other than them 2 small items the hotel was great. We had a room with private plunge pool, excellent to finish the day off. We also only booked bed and breakfast as we like to eat out. The breakfast was great, if you can’t find something you like it’s your issue not the hotel. The gym was fantastic, I’m lucky enough to travel alot and this is one of the best equipped gyms I’ve seen. The pool is great with a lazy river, look out for monitor lizards, 2 big slides and 2 rock jumps, not just for the kids. The hotel is very clean as well as the beach front. If you're walking out for dinner don’t go by road walk along the beach, it’s safe but your feet will get wet but hey you are on holiday. Nearly forgot one other small issue is sunbed saving with towels!! I’m an early bird to gym then swim but the amount of towels out with no one sitting on them til 11 o’clock!! Bloody annoying!! Let’s end with a positive though, great hotel all round.

We have just been to this hotel for our honeymoon and it was excellent. We went on a B&B basis as we wanted to go out for tea locally. It’s situated well, a short walk or tuk tuk from the main streets with bars, restaurants and shops/street stalls. The hotel is extremely family/child friendly which was a slight concern for us but we spent our whole stay by the adult only ‘Ripples’ pool and bar and it was brilliant. We got beds without issue every day. Its location has clearly been planned with thought as it is separated from the main pool area and there is no sound from the main area. It’s in an elevated position with an infinity pool so you have views of the private beach and the sea. The bar is ran by O who was so friendly, polite and attentive to our needs the whole time. It was excellent. There are toilets right by the bar, a clean towel supply and you can easily order good sized meals from the snacks menu. Our bedroom was perfect. The breakfast has loads of options to meet all tastes.

A beautifully designed and presented hotel nestled across the hillside down to the white sands of Karon beach takes you away into a portal back in time and far away from the hassle and bustle of the fast-paced Phuket.
A little on the dated side but a feeling of heritage can't be but felt.
Our room is on the 4th floor and overlooking the incredible beach, sea and lush green hillside. Comfortably set up for a couple with a spa on the balcony.
Privacy is not on offer but beauties abound.
The adults only "Ripples" pool and its keeper "Mr O" are a 5 star experience in their own right.
Breakfast buffet offerings is world class and the beautiful hostess "Ms Ida" along with the younger staff members made a memorable experience every morning.
Housekeeping was excellent, clean and responsive.
The all inclusive package was excellent value for money which included breakfast, either lunch or dinner and one hour of free flow drinks everyday. Besides the change of scenery there was no need to leave the hotel.
The in house spa is definitely something to brag about topping up the overall experience.

First time visit to Thailand, staying with a girlfriend We booked through luxury escapes with an all inclusive package
Location If your looking for beach front, clear water and less crowded beaches, this hotel ticks all those boxes, we booked hotel transfers to and from the airport, it took just over an hour drive from Phuket airport, a 30 minute walk to Karon for some shopping or a short tuk tuk ride
The room We booked a standard room with two beds, it had a balcony over looking a pool, a nice bathroom with marble shower, and bath tub, small desk and couch, it was clean and roomy, the beds were super comfy, the room was serviced twice a day with turn down, the only thing that could be improved would be the lamp covers they looked old and needed to be cleaned or replaced.
Facilities Spa - excellent we booked a full body aromatherapy massage as part of our package, very relaxing, nice facilities and great attentive masseuse
Gym- we didn’t use but it offered Mai tai boxing sessions and tennis couching as well as a fully equipped gym
Pools- There are several including adult infinity pool with a bar tender who will serve you cocktails on a floating tray A main pool with a swim up bar and water aerobics every morning 2 kids pools one with a slide A lazy river with two water slides A rock cliff with two ledges for jumping off, they had a life guard supervising Plenty of pool lounges on the sand or paving
Restaurants 3 of them, all of them served great food, the breakfast buffet had plenty of variety with omelettes made to order, a special egg dish like Eggs Benedict, fruit, mini pancakes, fresh fruit, pastries and more The Cove had a different themed dinner every night.
Entertainment Kids club, and activities were great for anyone who wanted to participate, we loved the trivia night, fire show, paddleboards and kayaks could be hired
Overall we loved staying at the Centara it’s perfect for families, couples and friends with something for everyone, the staff were fantastic were friendly, engaging , always smiling and saying hello, highly recommended we can’t wait to return.

It was our first time staying at Centara Grand Resort and stayed 10 nights. We had an amazing time and everyone at the hotel were very helpful, attentive, polite and so welcoming. Although its a very big resort you still get treated like a King and Queen. The room service was great and your request for ice would be dealt within minutes There are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat and drink at and we stayed in to eat at the hotel about 3 of our 10 nights (you are always itching to hea dout and experience Thailand with its bars and night markets). They really make an effort to entertain you with themed evenings. My only grievance was the reserving of sun beds. As a couple we started going to the Adults pool to spend our days but no matter how early you got there (The pool says it opened at 9am!) the beds would be reserved but you wouldn't see them be occupied for hours. We would get there at 9 and would be a few left but the people who reserved wouldn't get there til 10.30!!! Then they would turn up for a couple of hours and head off for lunch for another few hours. It was very unfair. They really need to be stricter with this, especially at the Adults pool where there are only about 20 beds. After a few days we went by the main pool which is right next to the beach and found this to be very pleasant and so we had the best of both worlds, the beach and the pool. It wasn't loud and too hectic as we first thought and soon became our new favourite place. We then could pop into the sea or the pool. The sea was gorgeous. Although it is a very large complex, and there are lots of guests, it doesn't feel that busy. Breakfast can be busy if you go at certain times but you are hardly waiting at the egg counter or at the toaster. The spa experience was out of this world and definitely worth a visit. We had a deluxe premium room which has the larger corner balcony which was enormous and didn't need it so large. The room was lovely, spacious and well designed. In past reviews I've read the rooms felt dated but we didn't think so. The sunset view from our balcony was truly beautiful and watching the sun go down with a drink in hand was the highlight of the day. We stayed in 927, but maybe the room on the floor above would have been even better (like 937 on the 3rd floor). The hotel is well positioned on Karon Beach, up at the end, so very private, but still close to the hustle and bustle of the local towns - which is the main reason we all go to Thailand. You won't be disappointed. Brilliant for families, also great for couples.

We reserved private return transfers. They were great & on time. Checked into hotel at 8pm, Deluxe private pool room. Very nice, but there was no sea view which was disappointing considering that's what we paid for. The room was spotless, air con was a godsend. Room was cleaned every few days, very comfortable bed, decent size shower, but water pressure was rubbish. Buffet breakfast and evening meal was included in booking (inc. 1hr free drinks) which took out the need to find somewhere to eat each night. The breakfast and evening meals were absolutely fine. Plenty of choice, all very tasty, loads of fresh bbq meats and fish. Thai rice etc.. The staff were all wonderful, especially a young waiter called Jiew. He was a delight and looked after us great. Adults only pool was fab too, very peaceful, the pool bar waiter called 'Oh' was a legend. Beach in front of hotel was amazing, but not clean, with lots of plastic waste. I believe the hotel is European standard 4*, never 5*.

Beautiful resort nestled in the corner of the clean, wide and long Karon beach. Stayed in room 337 premium deluxe with extended balcony, comfortable bed, fridge and rainfall shower & bath. Plenty of storage and plug points. Great view of the grounds and sea inc sunsets. Breakfast buffet was amazing with many choices including egg station, multiple coffee and tea options, juices, curries if you fancy it. Themed buffets at night were all good, loved the Thai market night food, but also the seafood buffet too. A la carte was delicious, especially the Red curry duck. Coast and the Italian restaurants also offered good options. Entertainment was a mix of Thai dancing, boxing and music. The band Duo played 3 times and are very good. Tina from the entertainment team always had time for a chat in between keeping the kids and adults entertained from Aqua aerobics to cupcakes
The gardens, pool and beach are spotlessly clean, comfy beds with parasols as it was 34 to 37c during the day, lovely 27c at night.
The staff are all amazing and so friendly. Shout out to them all including the team who maintained our room. Also to Anan, CD, Nathalie, Chaplin, Jiew and Nuchy…too many more to mention but all so pleasant and a credit to themselves in and around the restaurant areas.
I would only recommend that the hotel builds or creates a safer lit walkway…only needs to be short, between the hotel and access to Karon…would maybe help attract more people into Coast beach club at night….but that is my only real negative, most people like a stroll at night and would make it easier. There we some simply free activities at the pool and at the beach but nothing to excite the adventurous heart. They had an activities and tourist management desk where you can arrange for external third party trips and adventures if that interests you but you can also use the street stands for the same thing at a much cheaper cost. We went on snorkelling and other trips through these tourist information stands found at markets and we had an amazing time.
There are more places to choose from in the Karon area.
