I just stayed with Charly and his wife for three days. A great host, The room is very clean and well kept. Charly showed me around and I was off. The beach is a 10 minutes walk and it is a really nice beach. I stayed in the studio next to the office. It's a large room with a big bed. Lush gardens and Charly shares his knowledge of local plants, Just a great place to stay!
I came to Phuket to volunteer at Soi Dog foundation and found Chez Charly Bungalow on their list of recommended places to stay. The owners were very kind and welcoming and would even wave to me when I ran into them around town. You get your own private room and shower which they provide cleaning service for every few days. Much appreciated on my end since I so often came home smelling of all the dogs I was working with. Laundry service is also provided for a nominal fee. Great place. Definitely recommend.
Stayed here for a little over two weeks. We originally booked the studio but when we arrived we were given the choice of staying in the studio or a bungalow (it’s low season in August so quieter) and we chose the upstairs in a bungalow. Mod keeps everything totally spotless and they are lovely. The view of the hills isn’t as others have described as the vegetation in the garden has matured more and there is a new building gone up on the plot next door, but that didn’t matter as the gardens are gorgeous ... full of birds and beautiful butterflies, there’s a funny little squirrel who’s busy all the time and as the property is on a river bank you get the odd monitor lizard strolling through. They are quite large but don’t be alarmed as they will disappear as soon as they realise you are there! Don’t book through an agent go straight to their website ... I found them on Last minute who tried to charge me £87 for airport transfers ... it’s 5 mins and Mod will sort it out for you for free and it’s 200 barht to go back. They also tried to charge me for breakfast which is also free, Mod puts bread, butter and Jam in the fridge daily for you and we also had pineapples and dragon fruit a few times too! She also sorted us a scooter for 250 a day, It is next to the road which can be a little busy at times I’m a light sleeper and always travel with ear plugs and even though we slept with the door open I was fine. We are vegans and ate in Peonies on the main strip down by the beach, which was lovely. The Moon is a nice little bar too. There’s also a market by the temple which is on most days but there are more stalls there on certain days! Would I stay here again ... most certainly in fact I shall be bringing my folks next time, I loved it and highly recommend it.…
Mod and Charly are natural hosts - warm, considerate. Mod has standards of cleanliness that I haven't seen in some of the best hotels in the world. Truly - it is impeccably clean and cleaned to this standard daily. The property is charming, with a lovely garden and sweet "garden" cats. As far as I am concerned this is the only place to consider staying in Naiver Yang beach, or in the area in general.
I traveled with my husband and two best friends and we sadly only booked two nights at Chez Charly. Charly is one of the most hospitable humans I have ever met in my life. He and his wife were so incredibly welcoming and only wanted to ensure our comfort. We really regret not staying longer, but if we return to Phuket, we may book all of our time here. The garden is stunning, and the location is a quick cab ride to the airport and Nai Yang beach. We really couldn't have asked for a better place to end our trip.
