Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Dewa Phuket Resort and Villas garners praise for its range of amenities, including a selection of villas, rejuvenating massages, and inviting pools, all within a stone's throw of the beach and attractions. While opinions on value vary, with some guests finding certain services like the spa reasonably priced and others questioning the accommodation costs, the staff's attentive service is frequently commended. Cleanliness is a strong suit, though some suggest housekeeping could be more efficient.
The location is a hit for its close proximity to scenic spots and a nostalgic village vibe, but the atmosphere can be compromised by noise and light pollution. Rooms are generally well-kept, yet there are remarks about them appearing dated and occasional lapses in maintenance.

Welcome to Thailand! This was the sensation we felt when we first arrived at Dewa Phuket Resort. The check-in was quick and courteous before we were guided to our villa. The villa was spacious and very well appointed. The concierge pointed out the various amenities and features of the villa before leaving us to settle in.
The package we booked included a couples massage which we quickly booked on the first morning of our stay. We were able to upgrade the massages to longer ones with oil rather than the traditional 60 minute Thai massages. The massages were incredibly relaxing and great for settling in after such a long travel day.
The coffee shop on the resort is a highlight as the coffees and teas are very tasty and the lite fare options are perfect for a quick bite to and from the beach. The main restaurant on the resort has a great variety of options and their service was quick and attentive. We greatly enjoyed the food options.
If you need to exchange currency, the Airport Exchange is a short walk from the hotel and gives you the best rates. It was recommended by the front desk of the hotel.
Overall we had a great stay and look forward to staying again on our next visit to Phuket.

My partner had booked the holiday as a surprise for me and had organised everything with myself in mind.
After a long flight, the hotel taxi picked us up from the airport and I was happy that it was a very short transfer. Upon arrival CC checked us in, she was very friendly and polite and though it was extremely early (9am) we were told that the room would be ready in 30 mins which was a relief after a long journey. We were shown to our room and I was delighted that he had booked the grand pool villa it was amazing! The decor was charming, gorgeous comfy bed, lovely garden and a bonus of our own pool.. I particularly liked the small touches in the room, such as the dressing gowns slippers and flip flops. Free daily laundry service, the gorgeous Dewa branded soaps shampoos etc (they smelt devine) Our maid was a lovely girl, who kept our room spotless and was very helpful too.
The grounds of the hotel are really well maintained, all the staff are wonderful. You are literally a stones throw from the gorgeous beach.
Breakfast was really good, as was dinner (we ate at the hotel a few times)
I’ve seen a few reviews from people complaining about insects and lizards etc what on earth do people expect? The hotel can not control the wildlife, as much as they do ie fogging, providing the sprays and burners etc it’s impossible not to see insects! I got bitten by a mosquito a couple of times but it didn’t impact my holiday in the slightest! If you don’t want to get bitten then I suggest you go skiing next time!!
My main enjoyment is watching aircraft and was over the moon that we were just a 15 min walk from the hotel to the airport to see the majestic metal beasts coming in to land about 60 foot above your head (it was awesome) but for those people who have no interest in planes, the airport does not impact on the proximity of the hotel in anyway...
We enjoyed the pool, it’s kept nice and clean and were always able to get a sun-bed. We also enjoyed the beach and walks in the national park .. The sights and sounds of the native birds were amazing.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Book it and you will not be disappointed...
Thanks to all the staff for making an unforgettable time.. ❤️

I am glad that the team was able to accommodate for early arrival, and that you liked our restaurant. well. We would typically travel to the southern part of the island but given we were only in for a long weekend and with our 5 month old (for his first holiday!) opted for somewhere close to airport to limit the travelling and make the most of our last day.
We really wouldn't of known we were 5 mins from the airport at all! The beach is lovely (As nice as any others in Phuket) and there are 7-8 restaurants along the beach for dinner/lunch and perfect to watch the sunset.
The resort itself was very well maintained, had a small but nice pool and even though the resort was full, didn't feel crowded. We initially opted for a deluxe room but upgraded to a pool villa on day 2 which was the best decision of the holiday! It was great, very spacious and feel homely. The deluxe room was quite dark and didn't feel as holiday-like. It is absolutely fine if planning to be out the room most of the day on trips or at the pool but with a baby, we wanted to have a nice room to relax in when he needed naps etc.
Staff were all very lovely and they had a nice bar area with a live band one evening.
The breakfast is ok, standard egg station/fruit/pastries but a little repetitive if staying for more than a few nights. We also only got a turn-down service on 1 of the nights even though we were there for 3 nights.
Overall we were very happy with our stay and will very likely be back!

Having in stayed in Thailand this time of year many times from 3-5*, bed and breakfast to all inclusive hotels, we are qualified to say that the Dewa, whilst well situated, is on the expensive side if you want to stay in a Grand Pool Villa.
We loved the privacy the villa afforded, the pool and the space, but we did not like the mosquitoes or other biting insects we endured despite using local 95% Deet at all times. The outside toilet was a particular problem at night even though we were given a massive can of insect repellent by our maid. One of our garden chairs also appeared to be infested with biting bugs - until we put it in the shower and cleaned it thoroughly. The grounds were fogged once a week, but the pathway outside our villa is lined with pots of bromeliads which were constantly full of water and therefore a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
There was something for everyone at breakfast with a choice of breads, eggs, cold meats, cheese, cereals, fruits, yogurts, juices, teas, coffees, cakes and pastries, and daily different hot dishes. The pancake making machine was genius and made delicious pancakes in seconds. We didn't have dinner here as we were unable to find a menu!
Our maid Propaporn was delightful; she worked hard and quickly cleaned our room. She always made sure we had everything we needed and was always cheerful.
In 2 weeks we experienced the turn down service just twice, but to be fair on some occasions it could have been because of the "Do not disturb" notice on our door. Staff were courteous and polite. Our villa had plenty of storage space and was well laid out. We particularly liked the oil burner with lemon oil and the mosquito coils were handy. The villa was comfortable though a bit rustic. It was well equipped. A parasol with our sunbeds would have been nice as the aggregate on the ground in our garden meant you couldn't move the sunbeds round into the shade if required.
For a 5* hotel we were disappointed to find pillow cases with holes in, badly torn dressing gowns and the rattan type garden chairs in a dilapidated state. There were insufficient sunbeds at the main pools for the amount of guests.
Having arrived early, before check in time, it would have been useful to know that there is a hospitality room and also showers in the gym where you can freshen up. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and we asked if we could have breakfast then instead of on our last day, when our airport pickup was earlier than the start of breakfast. This was granted, which we were very grateful for.
We had an amazing holiday at the Dewa with it being so well situated, across the (quiet) road to the beautiful tree lined beach, close proximity to street food, restaurants, shops and local market. Despite being close to the airport, the planes landing and taking off were not a problem.
Would we stay again? Yes if the price was right, we had such a relaxing and happy holiday.

I have reservations about the Dewa but mainly good and we would return
Pros
Wonderful staff including Khun Nitty, Meow, trainees Be and Fa and Porre in restaurant and cocktail bar
Jen in the Spa - great masseuse
Food at dinner was very good as was the cocktail bar
Gardens beautiful
Location great for walking to restaurants, night market and beach
Cons
Booked a pool villa to get away from many children during holidays and were very disappointed to find pool but no lounges - ridiculous When I asked if we could get lounges I was told NO even though there is space for them. It appears they have been removed - management decision. Either book a grand villa (with lounges) or save your money and book just a room. We had to go to the pool every day which was what we wanted to avoid We saw several other people complaining about lack of sun beds. I have attached a photo of where they used to be
Worst coffee that we have ever had anywhere in the world in the restaurant. Told that no one has ever complained!!! I saw many people complaining amongst themselves and the near full cups left on the table should tell
Reception is the only place that the staff let them down. They are not particularly friendly or helpful, it seems that they can’t be bothered

Dear missiquincy, Thank you for staying with us at Dewa, and for your feedback - I am so happy to learn that Dewa team did a great job. I am sorry for the villa sun loungers confusion - the setup has been changed quite some time ago. Indeed, Pool Villas do not feature sun loungers anymore, while Grand Pool Villas do. Thank you for the pool feedback - lets see what we can do about it. As for the coffee - we are actually using the same supplier as branded 5* hotels in Phuket, like Marriott and Anantara. I will recheck on the coffee. We will also do better at the reception - hope to welcome you next time to beautiful Dewa. Best regards, Olga

We stayed at the Dewa Phuket for the first time as we wanted a quickly transfer from the airport as this is the first time we’ve travelled this far with our 18 month old daughter. We weren’t disappointed, the transfer was 5 minutes, the Dewa staff arranged an extremely early 8am check in for us so that we didn’t have to wait until the afternoon and our room was great. We had a one bedroom suite which has a kitchen and living area as well as separate bedroom and bathroom which worked well for us.
The best thing about the Dewa is the staff, they are so friendly and helpful and they loved our daughter. She couldn’t wait to see them everyday and they would dance and play with her which was so lovely to see.
The beach is a 1 minute walk away and is very quiet. You can walk just 5 minutes down the road and there are lots of options for meals on the beach which we enjoyed, especially watching the sunset. We’d highly recommend this location and hotel for families as it’s so convenient and the staff are great.

Personal review based on my own preferences so take it as you care. But I think it’s information that’s good to know. I booked the pool villa for 2 nights. Villa is a bit old and I’m not sure if it’s cos it was closed for a bit of time due to covid, but the villa smelled musky and was a little moldy.
But what I would like everyone to know is that the villa layout. I personally will not recommend for families with children or group of friends as there is no shower door. You literally shower out in the open, facing the pool and the main entrance. That means if you value privacy everyone needs to remain indoors while you shower. From my open bathroom you can look up to the hotel building which means they can look down at you too. Not much of a flasher so I had to shower with a bikini on which was a hassle. And then the war with mosquitoes while brushing your teeth. Toilet is also outdoors so at midnight if you need to go you have to get outside. Again not a big flaw but I think it’s information that’s good to know.
That said the front office staff were excellent. The room service lady was nice but food came in a paper bag which was surprising. And no doorbell for a villa?! I can’t hear the knocking when I’m inside with the tv on.
Breakfast was buffet cos it was the long weekend so I guess enough guests in house. Pretty average but they do have some items for Thai guests like nom jeen. A la carte menu and room service menu was really limited but I guess they’re not running at full capacity due to covid.
Anyways just thought this was information that’s should be shared so you know what you’re getting into when you book the pool villa. Also there’s no sun lounger to tan on next to your pool. That’s a pity actually.

Rented a Garden Villa at Dewa for a week, absolutely lovely. All of the staff were bright, helpful and full of smiles and welcome. The food was excellent, cocktails ice cold & well made, an excelletn location, right next to a beautiful long sandy beach of some restaurants dotted around & other, typical Thai localities. If we were to go back to Phuket, we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thakn you to everyone at the hotel!

We had a Grand Pool Villa #111. The room it self was nice as well as the small garden with a pool. Overall we where happy with the whole stay as well as the service. Would be nice if maintenance could take a look between rentals and test taps, locks etc. that they are working. It is not a major thing, but eye for detail is often missing in Thailand everywhere, not just in this place. The switch to shift from bathtub to shower was stucked in the shower position. We had to fill the bath with water from the shower witch was quite slow. The warm water was enough for 1/3 of the bath, we then had to wait for 30 minutes and continue to get enough for a 2/3 bath, so i assume the warm water boiler is way to small, it was the same every day. Our pool newer got any sun, making it very very cold, borderline unusable! I had a few quick dips but my wife could not enter more than knee deep and we are from Finland. Room 111 needs to have a few branches removed to help heat up the pool a few degrees! Also had to move the sun-beds around a lot to get sun. they have a small concrete platform to stay at but you wont get many minutes of sun every day if you are not moving them around a lot. Well small things like this only. Personel was lovely and service good, although roomservice food was 2,5 out of 5. Okay, but expensive and not even close to any restaurant around in the area in taste. We are happy with the stay, but some details can be better. typical 5 star in Thailand i guess :-)
We would come again but ask for a room with warmer pool that time.

On my Birthday, we decided to venture to a hotel. I heard a lot of great reviews from Dewa. Therefore, my father booked a Pool Villa and we stayed there for three nights.
As we entered the hotel, the staff was very helpful and guided us to the reception. After a very swift check-in, we were heading to our accommodation. The path was large enough for two people to walk aside one another. The staff that was kindly helping us with our bags opened the door into our Villa. The door looked as if it was from the medieval times, since it boasts a large wooden frame with oversized rusty metal handles. I could smell the fresh aroma of the plants running alongside the walls, but after we excitedly went inside the Villa, it smelt mouldy. The chair and bed frames had terrible scratches and the television looked thirty years old. However, we did not let this bother us so we changed into our swimming apparels and walked to Naiyang beach. My dad and I stayed for a few hours before walking back. There are many different dishes and cuisines on the menu (that were overpriced), but we went to one of the many restaurants near the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. We got back to our rooms and turned on the television, but there were only Thai channels. We went on our phones and tablets, but the internet was dreadful. We sat on a sofa and chair, but they were squeaky. It was nearing bedtime and I slept on the bed they provided us. It was uncomfortable and hard. Unfortunately, the pillow was the same. I could hear the occasional whirring of planes, but that didn’t bother me as much as the cheap bed.
I would recommend the hotel for everyone. There are some aspects that I dislike; expensive food, old furniture and bad WiFi (for those who like going online). This should not stop you from going to the hotel because it is a great place to get away from all your distractions.

Hello Mark B,
Greetings from sunny Phuket.
Grand Pool Villas, apart from having a larger outdoor space, has 2 sun loungers by the pool- while regular pool villas do not feature those.
Look forward to welcoming you to Dewa.
Best regards,
Olga
