Super clean and nice hotel in the best street in Phuket. Quiet. You have motorbikes for rent there, and one restaurant. It is only 5 minutes away from the beach if you walk, and 40 sec with a motorbike. Super restaurants close by, Higaway Curry is one of the best restaurants in Phuket if you like Indian food. Their Italian restaurant is also fantastic, serving super delicious food. It is ABSOLUTELY the best location in Phuket, you are lucky, not only with the owners, their restaurant, and their bike rentals, but the location of everything. Rent a motorbike to see the Island, or try some Italian goodies

Very nice location in Kata Beach, besides the in house restaurant, there are many good others around. It’s off the main road so noise is at a minimum. The room was nice, roomy, clean and felt like an apartment especially with the nice size balcony.

We needed three days transition to our Airbnb. Found Casa E Mare and could not have been happier. Price was great. The restaurant serves very good Italian food, which can be a nice break from Asian. Good breakfasts. They give you beach towels and have a free shuttle to Kata beach. The room was clean, the towels a little old but just fine. We had a little balcony on which to sip a beer at the end of the day. Good AC and fan. Bed a little hard but I like it that way. It is not fancy but it was a really nice place to hang out for a few days. We will be back for dinner before we leave Phuket. Nice people.

We had booked three and stayed ten days. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay at this marvelous place. Lovely host, very clean rooms, tasty food and such a nice atmosphere. A true and real Italian home close to Kata Beach.

We stayed in 2 rooms - 1 was an upgrade. We found many ants crawling out from beneath the fixed wardrobe in the non-upgraded room the first night. We told the owner (husband) but he barely speaks English and didn't understand. The son went upstairs to check our room, then asked his father for advice (the son, though passable at English, is not at all knowledgeable).

His father gave us a can of insecticide. Though we weren't happy about sleeping in a room freshly sprayed with insecticide, he immediately told us that we couldn't change rooms because hotel full. On the bright side, at least the chemicals did the trick...?

In the upgraded room, the toilet didn't flush properly right from the start (caused water to flow into sink). The next morning, we told the owner (husband). After some gesturing, he understood, but basically said blamed me for flushing too much toilet paper down the toilet... (Let's just say he's not very professional - or friendly) He also wouldn't really confirm whether or not someone would fix it. We returned from a day at the beach and the sink was STILL overfilled and gross. We luckily caught the cleaners working right outside our room and they fixed it for us.

FINALLY, on our third and last night, we asked the owner (husband) and son hanging out downstairs about getting a taxi to the airport. They reported it would cost 900baht. We were a bit surprised, as on meter to Casa it was 750baht, so we asked if there was a metered option/why going back cost more. Then the dad/husband suddenly got very pissed/defensive - he loudly told us that he didn't set the price and he wasn't ripping us off.

We were really confused by his anger, but reluctantly asked him for another transport option. He waved his hand to dismiss us and basically said 'no'. He then turned to his companion and obviously talked badly about us in Italian (ah, yes, his usual professional behaviour).

While ants and broken toilets are forgivable as they happen often, it was THE WAY the owner (or the husband in particular) treated us and the situations that was offensive and unacceptable. OWNING a hotel requires good customer service and professional behaviour. The husband's attitude was outright immature during the 'taxi incident'! With due credit to the hired Thai staff, however, they were all very polite.

A perfect value for money hotel. It does provide all basic amenities which made our stay quite pleasant. To top it the owners who are both Italian are pleasant with you. Ms.Lorella (owners wife) is a wonderful charming lady and won our hearts with her Italian English and Thai hospitality. I would advice you to rent a bike from the hotel itself and trust me renting a bike makes ur commute easy and ensures seamless travel. Do I recommend this hotel - Yes
Do we stay in this hotel again - Yes (no brainer)

There is NO taxi service as mentioned.
There is NO pool as mentioned.
There is NO laundry service as mentioned.
There is NO carpark as mentioned, room out front for about 10 mopeds (which the hotel own most of)
Internet is terrible unless your in room A1 (we moved about four times)
Food is a rip off in the hotel it cost me 350thb for tea and toast which should cost 120thb MAX, there is NO port "down the street" as mentioned.
The hotel is very Italian orientated.

The owner encourages you to go behind the reception desk to leave in your key and take it out... If I can do this can't other people take my key???

The room was OK - bed linen was ripped and had cigarette burns in it!
We also woke up every morning with lots of mosquito ans ant bites!!!

We booked this hotel based on the good reviews and photos from the other traveler but they are definitely not what we experienced. (please see my photos)

Location:
Good: not a long walk to Kata Beach
Bad: No one knows where it is. We took the airport bus which dropped us off at the wrong location, we dragged our luggages and couldn't find the place. Couldn't find a tuktuk that would stop. Managed to make a phone call answered by a Thai lady who doesn't speak much English, finally the lady of a massage place next to the phone booth helped told her where we were and she said she would come. A Thai lady showed up on a bike with an Italian who didn't talk nor look at us. She tried to waive a couple of tuktuk to no avail then finally got one who wanted to charge us more than what we paid from for the airport bus. Then she said she got to go and drew us a "map" then left! We walked 2 blocks in the heat and finally found a tuktuk that would take us. He couldn't find the place neither and phoned 3 times but no answer, this was 4pm, no one answered at the hotel??? Finally asked at least 5 people and found the place. The owners came out and greeted us, we told them no one answered the phone, they just shrugged their shoulders and conveniently like they don't speak much English (mind that I don't judge people by their fluency of English as it is my second language too). So remember it is hard to find, they will charge you 1000 baht for pick up but taxi will cost only 750.

Room:
Really small, our windows open up to windows of another building, definitely not what the photos show. And when you make reservation there is no different grade of rooms to choose from. Bed is big as other review but it took up the whole width of the room. There is no shower curtain nor doors so when you take a shower, the whole bathroom/toiler get wet.

Service:
Not much to mention about, we were always the one to say hello first. It is a gathering place for Italian, we often walked by and the staff or owners were always talking among themselves and didn't even acknowledge we were there. They have a firm policy that if you don't let them clean the room by 2pm it would not be cleaned that day. As for security, we were told to put our keys in a key box behind the office desk which marked "Staff Only" and picked it up when we returned, if we could do that so did anyone else!! No one checked whether we were taking the right key.

While this place is a short walk to the beach the surroundings is not very appealing (see photos) There are much better place to stay than this, even next door, the Kata Lucky Villa seems like a decent place and more secure. We arranged a taxi from the laundry lady across the street for 800 baht rather than pay 1000 from the hotel, after all they never asked if we need transport or anything to that matter.

Definitely will not go back and would not recommend it to anyone.

Casa e Mare is in a handy location 500m from Kata Beach on Kok tanod Road. The hotel has 5 floors and 20 rooms. You would feel more at home here being Italian but the family owned business of Eddy, Lorella and son Michael will go out of their way to help you. Located in a quieter area in Kata its right next door to a 24 hour Family Mart and 7 Eleven is just up the road. Good restaurants within close walking distance are Kitchen Kata, Ragualetta and Red Chair. A laundry facility is diagonally opposite the Hotel and several massage places are within close walking distance.

First impressions of the room were how clean and nicely presented it was, first ever hotel in Thailand - I was impressed. Wifi in the room was poor to good. The safety deposit box to my room was bolted by two screws to a wooden cupboard shelf – I didn’t use it. I found another hiding place for my valuables and took my friends advice to leave 20THB on the pillow with a ‘thank you’ note. The room maids were excellent anyway and respectful of belongings.

Some niggles...the hot water system in the shower (see photo) is aging and water lukewarm...not a good hot shower. It took me a while to work out how to close the Thai curtains with their wooden handles and the bed is very firm but I found these to be the norm in the four Thai hotels I stayed in. All in all I enjoyed my stay here and recommend it. Thank you Eddie, Lorella and Michael for your hospitality.

We were quite surprised to have paid very little for the awesome experience and the comfort that we had at Casa E Mare Hotel. It was not my first time to have a vacation in Phuket so comparing it with my previous experiences, staying in this hotel made my Beach holiday more unforgettable. To start off, we booked this hotel because of it's price since we were already in Phuket at that time and just thought of extending more nights there. So minutes ago we just booked it and asked a taxi to bring us there without expecting anything. When we arrived we were greeted by 2 super adorable puppies who are very friendly. Ofcourse aside from the puppies we were greeted by an Italian lady and a local girl who were both friendly. The Italian Owner was very kind and even gave us a room upgrade. she went with us to our room which we were very surprised of how it looks like. It was nicely designed, clean bathroom, good sized mirror, comfortable bed and a nice balcony overlooking the mountains. That totally changed my holiday from better to best. My friend even extended her stay in phuket too since we just loved everything about the hotel. They also have a restaurant which serves italian cuisine. We enjoyed the food and the service there too. In fact we even changed our last dinner plans from a fine dining resto to their place since we were thinking of enjoying every moment of our stay there. The Wifi is fast too by the way! They even arranged a taxi for us who was on time to pick us up. The Italian family who owned the place really made our stay the best it can be. I have already recommended them to my friends ;)
