The staff make your stay a pleasurable experience, they go out of their way to welcome you and make your stay enjoyable. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family room. The rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Balcony's overlooking the pool and bushland are an added bonus. Room service is exceptional and would recommend as the staff catered to our dietary needs and the steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Breakfast from the menu has a good variety, is good value, fast service and was enjoyed by the whole family. Would recommend this accommodation to other families who are after a central location in the Newcastle area that is welcoming, comfortable and good value for money.

I went from minus 4 accommodation to what seemed like plus 10 accommodation following my move to the Best Western Apollo during a recent stay in Newcastle. As my days were spent in a distressing situation at John Hunter Hospital, it was a particular relief and luxury to return each afternoon or evening to the quiet calm of the hotel, to my very clean and comfortable room, where, without exception, every staff member I was in contact with was notably professional, polite and helpful, The cost of a room there is also very reasonable, and even then I was gladly provided a reduced daily rate due to my extended stay there. In that time I found nothing I could fault and I would highly recommend this hotel for any accommodation need, with pleasure. I don't think I've ever stayed in accommodation that I would rate as highly as this hotel.

We found this hotel to be very dated and the cleanliness of the bathroom was quite shocking. Mould all over the grout and tiles, bath edge covered in mould, hair on the shelf and walls were really off putting. The ceiling was peeling as the bathroom had no exhaust fan. I was shocked with how dated it was. Beds were comfy but the quality of the room was really bad. We wouldn’t stay here again. Thankfully it was only one night as the showers were stone cold in the morning. Other guests were also complaining about cold showers at checkout. I would not recommend this hotel as the lev of cleanliness was just unacceptable.

Dear Vanessa, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are both surprised and saddened by your feedback and would like the opportunity to address some of your comments. Unfortunately, we were unable to match your name with a reservation, so we could not identify which room you stayed in. However, we believe your stay might have been some time ago, as some of the concerns you mentioned have been resolved following recent maintenance to our ensuite bathrooms. Cleanliness is of utmost importance to us. A senior staff member conducts a thorough room check after housekeeping, to ensure everything is in order. Our maintenance team has been diligently replacing the silicone in all rooms to maintain pristine conditions, and we assure you that our bathrooms do not have flaking paint or mould. While our mosaic vitrified floor tiles are prone to staining, we regularly scrub them with a commercial scouring machine. If your bathroom did not meet our high cleanliness standards, we sincerely apologise. Each bathroom is equipped with a ducted exhaust fan, with the motor located on the building's roof to minimise noise. The quiet operation can sometimes lead guests to think the fans are not present. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by a cold shower. On rare occasions, simultaneous shower usage can strain our commercial-grade water heaters, but they typically recover and reheat quickly. Regarding your comment on the aesthetics of the property, our hotel consists of a newly constructed wing and an original wing, which has been fully renovated with over-sized guest rooms. We assume you stayed in the original wing and regret that the room did not meet your preferences. These rooms retain some original features, like dado rails, but also offer modern amenities such as North-facing balconies, 55-inch smart TVs, plush pillow-top King Coil mattresses, workstations, separate seating areas, and sparkling ensuites with large-format wall tiles, mosaic floors, magnifying make-up mirrors, and excellent lighting. Our intense desire is to please every guest, and we are disappointed that we fell short of your expectations. We would love the opportunity to welcome you again and demonstrate our commitment to providing you, and all of our guests with an exceptional stay. A short but pleasant stay on a hot day in Newcastle after a long and tiring drive from Canberra. Plenty of parking, although the parking spaces are quite narrow. At reception, on arrival, we were greeted with a room upgrade and consequently enjoyed lovely views across the tall tree tops from our top floor room. The air conditioning was relatively quiet by comparison with other places we have stayed and did not disturb us during our sleep that night.

Rooms were huge, very clean and comfortable
Every staff member we encountered was friendly, from the front desk, to Dining room staff to room cleaners. Nothing was a bother.
Onsite Restaurant was clean, food was lovely and prices great. Dining staff were brilliant.
The whole hotel is clean and inviting, plenty of parking
100% would stay again and recommend.

Excellent food, great staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent on site parking choices and location. We ordered room service after a very long day of driving, food was hot when it arrived at our room, very generous portions and reasonably priced. This is a top hotel. The rooms are large and bright, with floor to ceiling glass looking out to a green wooded area. Wifi and air conditioning both work well. Bathroom has full lighting and night lighting. The in-house bar and fine dining restaurant are sensational, and diners come from all over Newcastle to eat there, make sure you book early! There is a lift from rooms direct to basement car park and Tesla car charging is available there. Highly recommended.

We both enjoyed our stay at the Apollo. Our room overlooking the bush was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony listening to the birds, we even had a friendly kookaburra visit.
We ate at Babbingtons both mornings for breakfast as they were delicious and very reasonably priced. We had room service one night and the burgers were very tasty.
All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Been will definately stay at Apollo next time we're visiting Newcastle.
