Lynne and Ian have created a cosy retreat where you will feel welcome and relaxed. We've stayed twice now and I have no hesitation in recommending this great B&B to travellers. Beds are comfortable and rooms quiet. Breakfast is made freshly for you. Wonderful hosts who really care that you enjoy your stay.

We decided to stopover on our way to visit a friend in Devon and could not have found a nicer bed and breakfast if we tried. Lynne and Ian were charming hosts. We had only stayed one night and wished it could have been longer. Our room was extremely comfortable. The dinner and breakfast we were provided with were absolutely...

We chose this as a convenient stay on our way to visit family, partly due to being dog-friendly even though we don't have a dog. We weren't disappointed as Ozy the black lab is part of the official welcoming committee. The owners Ian and Lynn were also very friendly and helpful providing advice about the local area. Lovely comfy bed...

My wife and I walked the Coleridge Way, and our stay at The Old Cider House was the perfect way to start our 7-day journey. Ian and Lyn are excellent hosts. We were honored to taste Ian's ales and delighted to have him autograph our copy of his book, "Coleridge Way Companion Guide". As mentioned in other reviews, the meals...

Thank you for this lovely review. We're glad you enjoyed the Coleridge Way (and the guide book). This is a stunning walk over 51 miles of beautiful countryside. We're just brewing the Christmas beer - shame you'll miss it!

Visited many times and made welcome yet again. Large comfortable room and en-suite. Good hearty breakfast. Close to the stunning Quantock Hills which are beautiful in the autumn, great for walking or biking and a short drive from many interesting places. Try the host's own homemade beer and bread.

Thank you for visiting yet again. As you know, we bake every day and as I type, I can smell the next batch just ready to come out of the oven.

I was greatly impressed by the Old Cider House. It is a charming and well run B&B. The owners Ian and Lynne were very welcoming and their dog Ozy was delightful. Its location in the village is perfect for exploring the Quantocks by foot and Nether Stowey is a beautiful village with a good pub (The Ancient Mariner). The breakfast...

Thank you. We love having well behaved dogs and this month we won the Bristol, Bath and Somerset 'Dog Friendly Business of the Year' award. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

This converted dwelling place lies on one of the main streets of this Somerset village and yet is very peaceful. (It's just a shame they leave the streetlights on all night, otherwise the night sky would be magnificent.). The rooms are spacious and comfortable with plenty of room in the en-suite facilities. The proprietors also run a micro-brewery in the...

Personally, we'd love to see the street lights out at night too but, with the Quantocks on the doorstep, you can have a dark skies experience within a few minutes walk of the house on the Castle Mount.

Thank you for this lovely review. The impromptu Spanish evening was one of the year’s highlights – twelve of us eating outdoors on a warm summer evening and then talking late into the night around the blazing log fire. We even managed to capture a bit of the evening on video (including a shot of Oscar) – have a look...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We run the sort of guesthouse that we would want to stay at. That's why we cook good simple food, buy locally and have our own microbrewery. We are relaxed, un-stuffy and welcome dogs. A great place for walking, mountain biking, sightseeing and, above all, relaxing. So, turn off the Blackberry and have a good time. ... more   less
