Detailed Reviews
This is a fabulous caravan Park. Super helpful owners, spotlessly clean. Love the space in the showers. The kitchen is stocked with everything a traveller might need. Cheap washing machines and dryers, great lounge room space for spending time when it rains or anyway. And with $12 for an unpowered site, beats Cradle mountain with $64 anytime!

Room Tip:Â They sell quite a few foodie things at their reception, plus ice, alcohol firewood etc.

Nothing there except a caravan park. Very basic gravel sites. Bathroom were ensuite style, great concept but not a fan of the creatures that inhabited them, looked like leeches......they weren't than goodness! Not too far from Cradle Mtn, mountainous trip though. Close to Nth Coast and very picturesque scenery heading towards Sheffield and the coast. Have laundry facilities, but wouldn't wash there because of the brown creek water.

Nothing fancy, but amenities are clean and work well. Great place to camp cheaply. 40 mins from Cradle Mountain and 15 from Sheffield. Hire a fire bin with plenty of wood $20. Quiet camp, wombats and pademelons. With the spectacular Mount Roland as a backdrop.

We recently had a large caravan event & Christmas party here. We found Shelley and her family to go out of their way to make our time there excellent. They catered for our Christmas meal🎄 which was delicious & lots of fun. The caravan park is neat and ensuites & kitchen area very clean & well stocked. Backpackers rooms are also very comfortable and clean. Beautiful walks nearby. Fire pots provided, don't forget your marshmallows. We will return.
Would recommend for people going that way. 👌 ✔

We had our caravan here for 5 nights. Great place for nearby walking trails, and close to caves, Devils Gullet, Alum Cliffs and Lake Barrington. Great hosts and good facilities under Mount Rowland. Great price of $35 per night for a powered site.

Sorry to say we didn't enjoy our stay here. We were expecting a bushy retreat but instead we had to sandwich our campervan in between two others on a gravel car park and chose to keep our blinds down lest we invade their privacy. We were so close to our neighbours we couldn't put up our awning. There is nothing for little kids to do. I can't believe with all that space and surrounded by such wonderful views more can't be made of this place.
Amenities were clean, the camp kitchen was tiny.

The reason we're stayed at Gowrie Park because all accomodation at Cradle Mtn was full. We weren't happy at the beginning as we really want to do the walk at Cradle the following day, and Gowrie Park is about 40 min driving from Cradle. The lady owner was greet us when we arrived, and she recomend us to do Mt. Roland which close from GP. We're so glad that we found that place. We did Mt. Roland the next day, and end up stayed for 2 days at GP. Don't forget to try their restaurant as well. It's a good quality food & the price is not expensive.

Male staff member needs to be less aggressive and more accommodating when trying to resolve issues. Firstly we were told that we parked in the wrong area and were made to feel that the grass was more important than paying guests.
Secondly we were asked if we could limit our noise after 10pm which we were happy to do, we resolved to quiet talking and very low level music but this still wasn't good enough, we were told to pack up and call it a night otherwise we would be asked to leave.
Threatening paying campers at 11pm with being forced to leave isn't our ideal way to spend a night.
Don't bother staying here if you want to have a laugh and enjoy yourself.

Response from Shelley R, Owner at Gowrie Park Wilderness Village

Econovan155, you were directed at reception to keep vehicles off the section of grass. There was signage there as well stating no vehicles - you proceeded to park your vehicle there anyway. This new area of grass is for everyone's benefit.... Regarding noise, we went to the local restaurant that evening and after exiting the restaurant around 11pm we could hear the noise from this group - 200m away. We all hear the horror stories of accommodation business not addressing noise issues - our apologies to our other guests for not controlling this group earlier. Geoff (Owner / Manager)

We stayed at Gowrie Park in order to be close to Cradle Mountain. The camp facilities were great - very clean bathrooms/showers; bbq + kitchen facilities; some pademelons roaming around near our tents :) Highly recommend!

Admittedly, we WERE going to stay at Gowrie 'Wilderness' Park at the start of the year, so things may have changed since, but seriously, this place should de-list campsites as part of their offering. Our choices were recently dug up uneven ground, complete with tree roots, next to a basketball court being used as a clothes drying area or right on the road. Awesome. We actually paid the $30 (on the steeper side for a campsite) but ended up driving away in the end!
Added to being kept waiting... and waiting... and waiting to book/pay for the site and well... you get the picture!
The only thing wild about the place was the building rubble and the notion that campsites are available!
