We are just back from our 7 night honeymoon at Hidden Cove and had a wonderful romantic escape. We stayed in the tree top glamping tent/villa and it really felt like we were on our own private island. Amazing views, with welcome sea breezes, and a comfortable four poster bed. We relaxed into island time very quickly.

It was handy to be able to snorkel directly from our front doorstep, and we snorkelled every day. The visibility was excellent, the water temp perfect and we saw an abundance of fish. We also snorkelled the blue holes on day trips. We brought our own snorkel gear and would recommend others for the same.

Sue was an attentive host and checked in with us, without being intrusive. Sue gave us lots of useful tips for making the most of our trip. Rose, her assistant, looked after us so well and brought us delicious breakfasts each morning. We had a massage included in our package and it was so good that we organised another one with Rose.

We went on several trips with Tusty, recommended by Sue. He was a great tour guide, funny, knowledgeable and flexible. The horse riding with Megan was another highlight. The ebikes weren't available but we were able to walk to the Black Pearl for lunch, Sue gave us a lift to the supermarket, and we used Tusty to get around to other places.

Overall, we had the most amazing honeymoon and have returned home so relaxed. We felt thoroughly pampered.
We would highly recommend Hidden Cove to couples looking for a relaxing and unique romantic holiday, with a love for nature. Just remember it is in a remote but very beautiful location.

Hidden Cove Eco Retreat was just wonderful. The tented villa was magnificent. Very comfortable bed and bedding and lovely to go to sleep and wake up with the sound of waves. Delicious breakfast every morning. She our host was lovely - there when we needed her but otherwise we had our privacy. We used the bikes to tide 14km round trip to Turtle Bay for lunch. We also took a day trip with Tusty up to Champagne Beach and Port Olry. The colour of the water has to be seen to be believed. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing but luxurious getaway. But remember also it is not the Gold Coast so don't expect cocktails and waiters. But do expect gorgeous views, magical waves and nature at its finest.

We actually felt like we escaped! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was absolutely perfect. Brilliant hospitality, quiet and interrupted surrounds on the prettiest of Vanuatu Islands. We definitely recommend Hidden Cove for anyone looking to truly unwind and recharge and celebrate. Brilliant and informed host.

Close to the amazing Black Pearl restaurant, within walking distance.

This review has been a long time coming and I'm ever so sorry it's taken so long to post my review. My partner and I stayed last August for a week and it was absolutely fantastic. The setting is spectacular. We had the tent with the huge tree up through the deck and it was truly magic. The hosts were great, very helpful and assisted us with going to town for shopping and took us on a great little tour the first morning, giving us all the local information we needed.

The tent was great, very spacious and the view from bed delightful. My only suggestion would perhaps be a more comfortable couch for lounging on. The little kitchen house was great with everything you could need. The dinners were amazing and breakfast every day was delightful and plentiful.

The bathroom villa is also beautiful, open to the elements and fresh air but covered over head so fine even if it's raining. There is a luxurious bath to relax in with a glass of wine, a view and some great company, it doesn't get much better than that. One evening I was greeted by little crab who joined me in the shower!! At first I was a little scared but he was harmless and hid in the rock wall.

One of the best parts about Hidden Cove was the use of the electric bikes. Honestly, what a fantastic asset to the place. We biked all over the place and they were very easy to operate.

Santo is such a great island. Very quiet and undeveloped. We couldn't have chosen a better destination or a more private and relaxing spot to stay.

I don't think anyone would regret a stay here! We certainly didn't and would love to return one day.

I needed to get away for a while and found hidden cove, well it is the most welcoming, friendly relaxing and private hotel I've ever stayed in . The host, Sue Morris knows every part of the word " privacy " but is there when needed . This is not a place for everyone, it's a place for peace and tranquility and I would gather very romantic for couples ( young and old ) if there was a rating above the TripAdvisor rating I would well and truly put it above it . Thank you Sue for making my stay so memorable. I will be back

What a truly amazing place. Sue and Chris have designed a unique retreat like no other. We spent 6 nights to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary and we both had an incredible time. Everything was just perfect. Food, electric bikes, mobile phone, hosts who would do anything for you.
The tent is comfortable and truly spectacular.
We cannot wait to go back again and again and again. The island of Santo is an unspoilt paradise and the locals are very welcoming.
Thanks Santo for great memories.

We had 6 nights in the original tent and Wow it was amazing. Thank you to Sue & Chris for making our stay a memorable one - it's hard to put it all into words. Unique accommodation, spectacular food - every day breakfast was different and always so yummy, fantastic location, fantastic place ! The electric bikes really helped to make certain places very accessible without having to use a taxi all the time. The mobile phone idea is a great one - all of the local restaurant numbers, taxi drivers, emergency numbers you could need - helps you to feel connected and not isolated in a place you're not familiar with. We really had the most amazing time and from the first day we arrived we were already thinking about when we could go back ! As Molly would say "Do yourself a favour and check this one out".

We had a fabulous 3 nights staying in a secluded luxury tent, right on the beach and surrounded by the lush greenery of this beautiful island. Our hosts, Chris and Sue, were fantastic, making sure all our needs were attended to. Chris greeted us at the airport and drove us to our accommodation. A delicious 3/4 course dinner was prepared for us, showcasing wonderful local produce, such as the soft flesh of the young coconut as a starter, dipped in soya sauce (coconut "sashimi"), sweet potato soup with ginger and saw tooth coriander, perfectly cooked organic beef fillet served on a sweet potato rösti with Diane sauce and green peppercorns, and finishing off with icecream made from sour sop fruit and served with toasted almonds, coconut and a shot of Frangelico. And a lovely bottle of champagne to welcome us, all the while enjoying our meal on the balcony of our private hideaway!

Our accommodation was amazing, like a good sized home back in Oz. The main structure included our bedroom, and 2 living areas, all beautifully decorated in a kind of plantation style. This "tent" had screen windows facing the water so you always had a lovely breeze coming in. There was a separate bathroom, with a beautiful bath, and twin shower, very spacious and had a semi outdoor feel about it and yet was mostly enclosed and very private. There was also a separate building with well equipped kitchen and breakfast area where we ate our delicious breakfast prepared for us each morning, again showcasing the wonderful local fruit and produce.

Chris and Sue supplied us with a mobile phone during our stay, and it had the contacts of reliable taxi drivers to call upon for getting around to parts of the island or just going out for a meal. We ended up using the services of Ian the whole time, and he was so prompt at picking us up and returning us each time. He was so interesting to talk to and we learned a lot about the local culture and flora and fauna of Santo. There are so many things to do on Santo, but we were happy to relax and enjoy the serenity and privacy of our tent home, the waters of the various "blue holes" nearby or the beautiful sands and crystal clear turquoise waters of Champagne Beach.

We ate out at 2 local restaurants for dinner (recommendations from Chris and Sue), and both were great. We also had lunch one day on Oyster Island which was fun - to get there you bang a stick on a massive old gas tank hanging on a frame and a ferry comes and fetches you to take you to the island (2 minutes away!!). Lunch on the beach could not have been more ideal. And then we were taken by canoe up to the blue hole of Riri which was so beautiful and magical. All you could hear were the birds. We were the only people there. And our last day we ate at Lonnoc after our swim at nearby Champagne Beach, again another very relaxing and enjoyable experience, followed by a swim in the beautiful Nanda blue hole.

Chris and Sue drove us to the airport on the morning we departed. It was quite sad to leave. They had been amazing at making our stay so comfortable, and gave us such an insight into the treasures this magical island has. We would highly recommend Hidden Cove. A great place to enjoy nature, be pampered and relax in absolute privacy, or enjoy all the wonderful land and water activities on offer.

Thanks Jen for your very detailed review. It really gives people a good picture of what to expect at Hidden Cove and surrounds on our beautiful island of Santo. Good to assure people that even though Santo is an outer island, and not overly commercialised, the tourism experience is of a high standard when it comes to food, friendliness and of course beautiful scenery and the many activities to enjoy. The photo's that you took of Hidden Cove Eco Retreat are great and as good as the professional photos on the website. Thanks for sharing your experience and for your generous words and high recommendation of Hidden Cove Eco Retreat. We hope to see you back again some day.

If you are looking for something 'special', private, tranquil, unique then this is it. If you are wanting to share your holiday with other guests and some hustle & bustle then this isn't for you. The tents take 'glamping' to a totally new level and are fitted out more comfortably than many luxury hotel rooms that I have been in. Sue & Chris, the resident owner / managers, and their staff will look after your every need, most times without you knowing they are even there, or leave you to your solitude if that's what you want. Spoil yourself & your partner! Mine was very suitably impressed!
