Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is no other campground in Hermannsburg apart from “Ntaria Caravan Park and Wildlife Sanctuary”. The nearest camping ground is in Palm Valley, located in Finke Gorge National Park (about 15km South of Hermannsburg). It does not have so many conveniences as Ntaria Caravan Park provides and was horribly overcrowded during peak season – people practically camped there bumper to bumper in August while Ntaria CP had vacant places. Ntaria CP is very spacious, has a lot of shady cosy sites, hot water showers, flush toilets, kitchen with microwave (!), free wifi and all is very very clean and tidy. I do not think you need to prebook a site in advance there in March. Prices were very reasonable. They have a website – search “Ntaria Caravan Park and Wildlife Sanctuary” and ask owner about current rates and conditions. Accommodations for Ntaria also include two, 2-bedroom houses and two 3-bedroom duplexes, 4 bungalows fully furnished with carports and fenced yards. “Units are $150 NIGHT, weekly is $840 up to max 2 mths. powered site is $30 twin. tent site $10 twin, no animals allowed” - reply on similar question by the owner 4 months ago Campground is fenced with gates locked 24/7 and only people who camp there have keys. Keys are obtained after payment at petrol station/shop (Opal petrol only), which located at the intersection, right at the entrance to Hermannsburg. If arriving after hours : there is a big sign near petrol station with mobile number (owner is living in the house across the road). Make sure you have phone with Telstra as provider because there is no Optus signal there. When we arrived after hours some locals advised us just to park near patrol station and honk until somebody will come. Hermannsburg is a small Aboriginal community (population of 625). It is famous as the home of artist Albert Namatjira and as remnants of historical mission (National Trust-listed historic precinct). In fact, travellers are not allowed to enter areas of Hermannsburg outside shops-campground-mission section. It is very convenient for campers to leave their vans on campsite, travel to Palm Valley, spend the day there in return to Ntaria for a night. By the way, tea rooms at Historic Precinct with strudel is an absolutely must addition to the breakfast if staying in Ntaria.
