Excellent place, beautiful experience! Monjit and his family really made my stay in Majuli very amazing. When I couldn't locate the exact location of the hut, one of his teammates even came up to pick me. Stay and home food were awesome. One should definitely try the local rice beer (Apong) and the tribal food they offer. Their hospitality went...

We could only get 1 night stay for our group based on our travel plans. Getting the bikes on the ferry to reach majauli was a challenge. The cottages are basic bed and bath room attached places, that are designed to get u a experience of the local people. The food, the wine was excellent. You can explore the village...

La Maison d'Anand offers simple, basic, very affordable accomodation and the opportunity to live a unique experience. The bamboos bungalows are simple and comfortable enough. I stayed here December 2013. I've been looking at reviews today because we were talking about how disgusting it was, the rip-off price and the useless caretaker - and how much fun we had and how wonderful the island of Majuli was. We communicated via email before we arrived, including arrival time (rushing to get the right ferry to arrive...

It's an authentic bamboo cottage with tons of character, in keeping with Majuli itself which is pretty neat. Loved our room and outside portico where we stretched out to watch Majuli life go by. Bathing was by appointment as water is heated on wood fires and carried by bucket. Bathroom is basic but serviceable .Owners/managers are helpful. Best was breakfast...

If you are planning a visit to India, forget the hyped Delhi-Jaipur-Agra triangle and head to the North East ( the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, etc.). You would be surprised to find how different this part is to the India you have known through popular media. If in Assam, don't miss the gem called Majuli for an absolutely authentic...

Majuli is one of the most serene place I have ever traveled. La Maison de Anand has accommodation for around 10-12 people. Two separate cottages, one made of bamboo and other one of concrete and 4 bamboo rooms. All the sattras are far from the cottage but river Lohit and Mishing Village is nearby. The man who looks after, Manjit,...

One of best places to stay for hospitality and simplicity. There are few cottages for accommodation and food is available. Not to forget tea and coffee. Garmur market is not far away neither are most other places of interest. One would wake up to chirping of bird's. Lot of them come and sit around due to greenery and they look...
