A great stop over enroute to Kruger National Park. Great bar and excellent friendly hospitality. The chef is outstanding producing a first class curry and a hearty breakfast. Recommended for a nice safe and relaxing stopover. Ask for Bob and his better half Betty!

Welgekozen is a great stop over place in the perfect location...despite being close to the main road it is remarkably quite and peaceful. The beds were every comfortable and linen of good quality. There is a secure parking on offer and a security guard walking around the premises throughout the night which ment that we didn't have to unpack the...

This was probably one of the saddest hospitality disappointments I have had in a very long time and I say sadly because I do actually love the place. Unfortunately I have never felt so unwelcome as showing up at this beautiful manor house and being welcomed only by a locked door. After about 5 min the owner showed up at...

This place is one of the very few good ones in the area. Well maintained and clean. Friendly welcome. It offers what you need. Restaurant, Bar, Swimming pool as well as a lapa for a braai. Shaded parking is available. The room was clean and the bed was good. The bathroom did not have a shower, only a bath tub....

I have stayed at Welgekozen Country Lodge for a very, very long period. Betty, Bob and the whole staff made all possible efforts to make me feel like at home. I surely did and I'll be grateful for the rest of my life. Why I chose Welgekozen among all the options in Piet Retief? The spacious and well equipped rooms....

I would never consider staying anywhere else in Pietretief! Our stay at Welgekozen was fabulous and all you need. The rooms are huge, spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious and clean and the shower great. We left before breakfast but apparently it is amazing too! Thank you Welgekozen for a comfortable and great night!

You don't expect this comfort and professionalism in a little town like Piet Retief but Bob & Betty run an exceptionally fine B&B establishment. For Room 6, we could park our car almost next to the bed! Although on the main road, which is where it would seem just about every truck in SA comes to rest, our room was...

This B&B is managed by Bob and his wife, who both add a lot of personal touch to this place. The whole place is very well maintained. Each things in the rooms is taken care of personally. The rooms are very big, clean, and the linens and toiletries are all very good. WiFi is free with a very good speed....

“The best room is room no.1 in the main building. It is huge with a huge bathroom. All the rooms in the main buildings are best for quietness. The outside rooms have more privacy and you can park your vehicle next to your room. However these outside rooms do pick up a certain element of noise from traffic on the hi-way, but not enough to have been bothersome to me.”
