Detailed Reviews
A two night stopover in Geneva led us to this hotel. It wasn't cheap, it wasn't expensive, but then you don't expect cheap in this city! A little difficult to get to because of major roadworks and road closures right outside at the moment, and the noise from the works was a little annoying early in the morning, but that won't last forever.
Considering this is a three star hotel, it looks and feels a lot more luxurious than that. The décor is modern and bright and classy. The star rating is more to do with the facilities offered, which are minimal in some ways. We booked a lake view room which was spacious without being overly large. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good but can be expensive if you don't get a good deal when booking.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times. There is car parking underneath the hotel with reserved bays for guests. There is a train station a few minutes walk away and the hotel gives you a free travel card for the duration of your stay, which is a great benefit (and common in Swiss hotels, I understand) so it is very easy to get into central Geneva.
There are a few restaurants around the area, but they are relatively expensive. Even a medium sized takeaway pizza from a local shop was around €17. A large Co-op supermarket is on the doorstep which is useful but the room does not have a fridge or microwave, so you are limited to what you can consume in-room.
Finally, there is a cat that lives in the reception area. Say hi!

I have visited this hotel twice. Once a few years ago on business when I did not have the opportunity to explore either the hotel or the area properly. After my first visit I vowed I would return to experience this place with a bit more time. Fast forward a few years (due to covid) and we were able to return in September this year. The hotel is situated very close (about 15 mins taxi ride) from Geneva airport. The location looking over the lake is astonishing. The rooms are laid out so that you have a seated area that looks out to the lake. Amazing! The rooms are spacious and have all you need. When we arrived in Geneva our suitcase didn't and the staff provided us with an emergency toothbrush and toothpaste. There is also a supermarket underneath the hotel for emergency supplies. The staff were super helpful, professional and polite. Any email communications I had with the hotel prior to our visit were answered promptly and effectively. The staff were also able to advise on local excursions, train times etc. The rooms were well cleaned. I can't wait to return.

+1
The hotel is beautiful, modern and clean. The rooms are simply amazing with window seating areas controlled by electric blinds (keypad to control the blinds on the wall near the door - took me a minute to figure that out!). All staff were friendly and attentive. Hotel location is okay but must be noted it is not in Geneva it is located in Versoix, 25 minute bus / 15 minute train ride. Bus stop 5 minutes walk from the hotel and train station right at the back of the hotel so 30 seconds by foot. Great peaceful location but during my stay Saturday through Tuesday there were not many restaurants open so I struggled to eat in the evenings in the local area. Restaurant and shops that are open tend to close / stop serving food by 7/8pm so a lot earlier than most places. Overall the hotel is fabulous but the location wasn’t ideal for me.

This hotel and it’s manager do not show any emotional consideration for people’s genuine exceptional circumstances. They refused to change the dates of a booking at all even after explaining that there were genuine special circumstances just because we didn’t pay the £20 ‘refundable’ option. We didn’t just ‘decide’ to change the dates but they didn’t care at all.

I traveled to Geneva in February 2023 solo,
I stayed at lake Geneva hotel, the service I received when I first checked in was amazing from Lysa, I was rarely for check in but she managed to get my room sorted with an hour of me showing up! They even looked after my suitcase for me while I went for Lunch. She was extremely friendly and super nice! And spoke fluent English which helped a lot. Any issue I had due to faults of my own she resolved quickly and helped.
The room was lovely I stayed in there basic room as booked via easyJet. I wish I stayed in one of there suits!
The bed was super comfy and massive!
Shower was nice and powerful and even warm!
There was a safe in the room which always helps.
Fresh towels and bedding every day which is amazing
The hotel is a two minute walk from the train station which goes direct to Geneva and take about 20 minutes.
Or there a buss station just outside.
There is a supermarket underneath the hotel which have everything you can need and a pharmacy across the road.
The hotel has been placed in a perfect location
Worth every penny

We booked a junior suite --huge windows and balcony overlooking Lake Geneva was amazing. Easy checkin, but be aware that hotel requires a $100 franc per night deposit, which will be refunded. Also when you checkout you will be charged $7franc per nigh local tax. Versoix is a short train ride to Geneva, but the station is a 1 minute walk from the hotel, and anyone staying at a Geneva are hotel gets free train, bus, and boat pass. Overall excellent stay

my 3 stars seems a bit mean, however there are a couple of reasons why that really affected our stay. I had emailed the hotel in advance that we needed a fridge in room for my daughters insulin, and a travel query, they answered the travel query and i wrongly assumed a fridge would be in the room. we were also hit with a 300chf deposit upon arrival and then told of local tax. It was 31° whilst we were there and i am not complaining about that but there was no air con and you could not not turn the in room temperature of 25.9° down. On the positive the staff were very friendly, the hotel was spotless and the location was stunning. We were room only and eat in Geneva most of the time. Transport links all over were amazing and always on time!

We stayed here for 2 nights so cannot give a complete honest judgement of the hotel, i would recommend for a short stay and not a long stay hotel though.
Reception and staff :- all staff very friendly, our room was available to check early as we had an early flight which was tremendous. Always greeted by staff even the window cleaning man! You do have to pay a deposit which worked out around £250 which you get back at the end of the stay but was a bit of a shock so make sure you have this in your bank. Very clean and aesthetic hotel reception too.
Rooms :- were amazing, could be a little more spacious but not complaining. Bed was very big enough so your partner isn’t sleeping on top of you, also very comfy. Air con needed a pin which we didn’t ask about as we just used the fan kept in the cupboard. The sofa bed by the window which the blinds and lights are controlled by a switch was amazing! The best part of the room. Bath included too, and very well clean and bottled water provided.
Area :- so close to airport, can get a train do not be fooled by the taxis which cost £40 for a 10min trip. The train station is directly outside the hotel which we got into the city Geneva which was lovely, but not a lot to do there. There is a mini beach by the hotel across the road with sand and you’re allowed to swim in the lake, we spent most of our time here to be honest. Not a lot Switzerland had to offer. There’s a couple restaurants around hotel but nothing much and very expensive. There’s an Aldi by the hotel and a corner shop which was very convenient.
English isn’t very well spoken, the hotel speak very well but outside of that it’s not great. Shops and restaurants it’s rare they just speak to you in French, but the ones that speak English are very clear and fluent.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay, we had a pleasant time, thank you.

This is one of the best Hotels I’ve stayed in on any of my holidays. The view from Hotel was stunning, staff friendly and very helpful. Train station is literally at the back and you get a travel pass so it costs you nothing to travel. Geneva centre is 20mins and supermarket is downstairs. The rooms are modern and very clean. Couldn’t recommend enough. We will definitely be back *****

This was my first stay at the Lake Geneva Hotel. Beautiful view. Hotel very clean, well decorated and comfortable. One issue is that for January, the room was a bit warm at 22.5C and thermostat operation was not intuitive at all. Everything else worked very well. Restaurant was fantastic, creative and every meal was delicious. Definitely not the typical hotel food. I'd highly recommend HLG when in Geneva in the Versoix area.
