I am tempted to give Rancho Encantado a 5 star review, just because their staff is the nicest. Everyone asks you how are you, from the front desk to the gardeners. They really know what great service means. We stayed only for 2 nights in our honeymoon (July 29 - 31). We got one of the front site cabañas, (they...

This is a fabulous place right on the banks of the laguna. The rooms are spacious and clean, the restaurant is excellent serving great food at a good price, all the staff were helpful and friendly. We only spent one night here but would have been happy to stay for longer. It is really peaceful and a wonderful place just...

I read the other reviews for the hotel, I see that they review the Bacalar lagoon rather than the hotel, so I will focus my review on the hotel. In a nutshell, Rancho Encatado is your best lodging option in Bacalar. I was able to visit several other hotels, and I think Bacalar is the best. Akalki is also very...

Was here a day around middle of july. Really nice place, absolutely stunning view. And good priced also. The food from the restaraunt could have been a step higher which would have made it a 5 star. But I reccon most people would have given it a 5 for the food also.

Rancho Encantado delivers on all levels. From the start Isabella made us feel welcome and explained all the amenities including the free use of paddle boarding, kayaks and wi-fi. My review is influenced by the amazing Cabana 8 which has it's own private sun lounges, hammock, king size bed and porch which provide a great view across the lake.. Put...

We are visiting the Yucatan for three weeks and decided to take a mini-trip down to Bacalar and Chetumal. The drive took almost four hours but the roads are good. We stopped twice to get gas and rest but mostly we drove. Be sure to take passports when you travel though Mexico...even mini trips. You can't exchange American money for...

What a beautiful place! Everything about staying at Rancho Encantado was great. It started even before we got there. I made a mistake with the booking, and Nelly at the main office was such a great help in correcting it (THANK YOU!!). We stayed for two nights in a cabaña. They are clean and spacious, ours had a double bed...

Last year my 91 year old father and I spent 2 nights at this hotel, this year we spent our entire trip staying at this hotel. My father wanted to return because he loved the rural location, being able to sit outside to enjoy the birds and the scenery, and the wonderful cabins. He has limited mobility, but this hotel...

This area, in the southernmost part of the Yucatan Peninsula, is just at the point of developing as a tourist destination for the eco-minded traveler who seeks escape from the larger, often over-developed areas of the northern part of the Peninsula. ... more   less
