Stayed in Farran House on a self catering basis for long week end for family celebration. We were a group of 15 with family members from ages 2 to 70+ cannot recommend this property enough. Beautiful tastefully decorated en suite bedrooms, comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Grounds are private and kids/teenagers loved it (wi fi access bit of an...

We were one of five couples who stayed together for a week at Farran House; we meet every 18 months or so in a different location, our last was Sweden, but we have been to Italy, California, Ireland, and Scotland as well. We look for a good kitchen with ample utensils, en suite rooms for each couple, an accommodating dining...

John and Patricia are wonderful hosts and have created a lovely, welcoming home in which to relax, The rooms are oversized with bathrooms to match, amenities similar to those of the Gatsby era. The grounds were similarly beautiful, making it difficult to leave but a pleasure to return. We opted for breakfast to be served each morning and were not...

I have read the other reviews and don't understand the tiptoe comment or the owners being rude. We had 12 in our group. This is a beautiful, large comfortable home. The grounds are just amazing. We had a tolite break downstairs, called and someone was there right away. We did pay for the breakfast every morning and would have to...

We had a much anticipated family trip to ireland last August. It centred around a family reunion invloving the coming together of 14 family members from far and wide. It was decided that we would have to stay in style and we should rent a large castle or manor house and Farran House was chosen. The house is stunningly beautiful,...

We stayed here for New Year's Eve and had a fabulous time. The house was perfect for a big gang of far flung friends who don't see each other very often - we ate (a lot), drank, chatted and sat around the big fire in the drawing room. We easily seated 15 for dinner in the dining room on New...

My uncle rented this house for a week in March. I was one of 10 guests he invited. The house is spectacular, I was amazed by the scale of the whole place, there is a real sense of Brideshead Revisited about it. The house was spotlessly clean which really pleased my wife and the owners were really helpful. Highlights of...

We had a family reunion here in November, 4 couples and 5 children from 16-6. The House was fantastic, I have stayed in some manor houses before and found them to be a little dark and dusty but there was something about the layout and proportions of the rooms here that I found very pleasing. The adults rooms were big...

Over the last five years I must have stayed at Farran House at least 10 times. My husband's company has an office in Cork and he often stays at Farran House, sometimes I accompany him on those business trips and also last June we had a wonderful weekend when took 8 of our friends there to celebrate my husbands 50th...

How anyone could not find John and Patricia gracious hosts is beyond me. I have had the great fortune of staying at Farran House on four occasions now--once in 2003, when our party of 13 booked the entire house, once in 2004, when my daughter and I visited; and twice last summer (2006), when my son and I were exploring...
