My stay at Suchipakari Jungle Lodge was among the most memorable parts of my eight months in Ecuador. It's located in a beautiful, off-the-beaten-track part of the jungle. Sweet hosts, very comfortable. A perfect place to relax and/or go exploring! Tena is also a charming town to visit with lots of outdoor activities to take advantage of on the way...

The surrounding jungle is beautiful and it was nice being next to the river which was a short walk away. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful in ensuring that we made the most of our...

“While the local village tours were good, but like our experience in travels to more than 30 countries, the dances tend to be phony. Imagine what happens to authenticity, when you live in one of these villages and have to dance with Caucasians in the local dance, when 5 such tours pass by your "village" every day. You just want to collect your money and get the hell out of there. Skip these pseudo-touristic places, which are self-acclaimed exhibits of the local "culture".”
