We spent 5 days at Ash, which were pure perfection. The staff, the food, the view, the rooms, the decor, the nature. Words aren't enough. GO! while you have a chance, jump in the waterfall, lounge at the pool and walk in the clouds. Literally.

This tea estate is in the Knuckles hills - wonderful scenery, and high enough not to be too hot, although certainly not cold. The 'hotel' is a colonial era estate manager's house, so cool and spacious. There are wonderful views of the Knuckles all round. There's a great swimming pool with, again, wonderful views. The rooms are very comfortably furnished....

After a difficult journey up a slow road this is a heavenly place to discover . Comfort, views, great food, attentive unobtrusive service from welcoming hosts Gonnie and Pieter and their staff. It is a world away from five star hotels with only six individual rooms. Plenty to do, visiting their tea plantation and a local factory, walks to waterfalls,...

Such a peaceful place surrounded in beauty. Top quality food and warm hospitality. Good activities including a wonderful nature walk which intro all the plant life around. Did you know vanilla is an orchid?

We had wonderful drive up, up and up through the mountains to arrive at Ashburnham early evening. The team took great care to welcome us and show us around and the best part was their sense of humour through our stay! Charming place with all kinds of interesting views down through the hills - found some lovely spots for morning...

Just spent two deeply relaxing and comfortable days there with family. The estate has truly stunning views and an incredibly warm and friendly staff. With just six rooms and a large recently redecorated house, it's superb choice for anyone looking to get away from it all. Morning coffee over looking the Knuckle mountains will go down in my list of...

if you want more privacy and more of a homestay kinda thing, you should definitely try this property. I can clearly give 10/10 for the food and for the staff. I was there for 2 days and one day for the dinner i had chicken breast with mashed potatoes, and that was my favorite in the whole cultural triangle trip....

Friendly staff, good food, amazing views and walks. The only drawback is that it's literally in the middle of nowhere. It's probably a bit expensive relative to the rest of Sri Lanka but the service and quality of accommodation matches up. It's well worth walking up the mountains with their naturalist if you have time.

Stayed here for 2 nights..could have easily stayed here for 2 weeks. The setting, the room, the food, the staff, the management, the views, the pool, just awesome... This is the type of place where the pace of life just ambles along where you can take in the beauty of the scenery and the wild life, go for nice long...
