My husband and I booked four nights in this resort for a luxury stay on our way home from Ecuador. Our booking was based on the recommendations of friends who had stayed here in early 2008. While the facility is somewhat grand and rooms and bathrooms lovely, there are a myriad of problems with staying here in my opinion. So...

This is a huge complex, with many guest rooms, which are quite large, with huge bathrooms, and balconies with rope hammocks! We were really disturbed by the mold/mildew smell in our room. The breakfasts were excellent, with lots of quality choices. Additionally, we ate dinner here one night of our two-night stay, and it was also excellent. The pool area,...

The resort is part rainforest retreat, part glitzy resort hotel, and has to make some compromises on both ends. That will leave some dissatisfied, but we found it ideal. We were able to go out and see all kinds of wildlife (tons of birds, plus mammals like night monkeys and capybara), and then cool off with in the pool. Our...

Six of us spent 2 nights here with Caravan Tours. Caravan picks such beautiful places to stay on this Panama trip. The hotel itself is so lovely, the rooms were great, the hammock on the deck was such a nice added touch. We were greeted with a delicious punch. The food was good, but the DESSERTS were over the top....

We just returned from Panama and a two night stay at Gamboa Rainforest Resort. It is a beautiful resort, with beautiful rooms and bathrooms, and unbelievable views of the canal and the Chagres River from the hammock on the balcony. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We did three of their tours. We did the Aerial Tram tour, but because it...

This is a lovely old hotel in the rain forest, on Lake Gatun. Large terrace had a great hammock with view of lake & trees, very sureal looking when we arrived in a light rain. You may see strange animals on your way to the dining area(not near enough to touch!) Just don't need something done quickly;it took a while to...

First, our room was in an older wing of the resort, so the room was not in as good a shape as others. For example, the air conditioning didn't work well when we got there. And when it was repaired (maintenance staff responded immediately, even though it was in the evening, and it did keep the room cool when repaired), the...

I was so grateful to be here after suffering the Royal Decameron. This resort was BEAUTIFUL. It lived up to my expectations and then some. The food was fantastic. Such great selections. This place might have been nice in its day , but that day has passed. Perhaps our expectations were high. It looked good online and the reviews were not bad, but do not go there if you expect anything better than a typical holiday inn type facility. Dust and cobwebs around every corner. Beautiful location, but hotel is 30 years old and in need up updates! Hotel grounds need more maintenance. This was our second trip to Panama and we were looking for a mountainous location near the international hotel. Spent 3 nights here and would have been happy with 2.
