We had the perfect stay at Villas D'Or.

If you are looking for privacy in a beachfront property which is close to the village, this is the place for you.

Each villa is spacious, extremely clean and the kitchen has everything you need to make a meal. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The garden is extremely well looked after by the staff and lots of beautiful birds came to visit in the morning which made my daughter so happy. The beach is steps away from each villa and you can easily walk to the village on low tide via the beach (about 15mins). In general if you want to explore the rest of the island I recommend hiring a car. The sea was affected by the northern wind during our stay so it was quite choppy but I am sure it is very pleasant when the wind calms down. It is impressive how nicely the property is camouflaged behind the bushes and therefore you can barely see the villas when you are at the seaside, very respectful of the environment and very harmonious. The village has super markets and restaurants (including local take aways). Mr Pierre is a wonderful person, he is always available to help with organising car rentals, taxis or excursions. He is contactable by WhatsApp and generally very accessible. Mrs Georgette has also been extremely kind and so have the rest of the staff. I wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely come back.

This facility was our second travel point on our Seychelles hopping. The start wasn’t brilliant before as the hotel was overbooked and we had to spend the first night at Club Vacanze Cote D’Or Lodge instead (separate review). The receptionist, Pierre, then made up for it with additional services and very great helpfulness, but of course was not a great start.
The bungalows are self-catering. Norwalus we do not book such a thing, but by having breakfast delivered directly to the bungalow, this inconvenience is compensated. The breakfast offers a very good selection and large quantities and is brought directly to your door by appointment - highly recommended. Furthermore, the facility offers a barbecue once a week with delivery to the bungalow. It was really great Creole food and we almost burst. So definitely try it out. Restaurants, takeaways and shopping are plentiful in the adjacent town of Anse Volbert, which can be reached via the beach path in about 10 minutes.
The complex is very well maintained and very nicely greened. It has a variety of small lizards and birds which can be observed from the terrace. Access to the beach is possible via a wide swath in the plants. This protects you from prying eyes of other beachgoers. The hotel is quite remote anyway and has little "through traffic". The beach itself is very pretty with fine sand and equipped with cozy sun loungers. The swell was a bit rougher than we were used to from La Digue and apparently it also has stingrays, which is why we didn't really bathe. But the water was wonderfully warm. On Praslin you either have to rent a car or take the bus. The roads are NOT geared towards cyclists. It has a bus stop nearby and the buses run quite reliably, albeit at somewhat more erratic intervals than we are used to. This allows easy access to the main attractions from this hotel.

We had a lovely stay and can recommend the Villas d'Or.

We stayed at Les Villas D’or for 8 nights in sept. 2022 and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay on Praslin. The first welcoming by Pierre was thoughtful. The villas at Les Villas D’or contain a perfect size bedroom with comfortable bed, bathroom and a separate living room that give you a real sense of ‘home’. The villas are fully equipped and there was nothing we missed really. The porch of the villas was were we spend most hours, since this was a perfect place to enjoy the well maintained garden. And if you’re lucky one of the gardeners will hand you a fresh coconut to drink.

But! The main reason to visit Les Villas D’or is the staff. Pierre, who is managing Les Villas D’or, embodies hospitality and is more then willing to help you out with whatever question you might have. And outside of Pierre all staff was remarkably kind. Everybody says hello and is keen to have a quick chat, although they might be in the middle of cleaning, gardening or some other task. These people all make you feel very relaxt and welcome while staying at Les Villas D’or.

Les Villas D’or is also nicely situated at the beach and near the start of the local village. You can walk there both via the beach as well as via the main road.

If you want to discover all of Praslin, I would recommend hiring a car. Busses run frequently (and are extremely cheap), but nothing beats the freedom of having your own car.

And before I forget! When Pierre calls you to offer a home made dinner (made by his wife) to be served at your villa, please say ‘yes’. This was some of the best food we had in Seychelles and definitely worth a try! And for the price . . . you’ll be asked to pay whatever you think it was worth.

We loved this place!! I can't explain quite how relaxing it is. We were going to have 4 nights here but having seen the location, extended it to a full week - and we're so pleased we did. The villa was perfect with a big verandah with views down through the palms to the sea, cooking facilities including a fridge (beer for your afternoon sitting!), and a comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, but also discrete - we didn't feel hurried to let them clean etc. We made use of all of the facilities including kayaks, bikes (crucial to get beer/snacks), books, the BBQ - honestly, it's brilliant. But most of all the location is just breathtaking. It's so peaceful and quiet (well it was for us) and just plain beautiful with the turquoise sea, white sands, palm trees... Amazing. Most local restaurants will come and collect you and deliver you back. Our favourite was Cafe des Arts, highly recommend you try them. And stay here!!

We were with family and had a spacious “villa”, with 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Quiet, with direct access to the magnificent Côte d’Or beach. Pierre, hotel manager, is happy to facilitate excursions and dinners according to our expectations.
Worth mentioning is its strategic location in addition to its direct access to the sea: by car less than 5 minutes from the village and less than 10 minutes from Saint-Anne Bay.

This was a wonderful place right on the beach. It was a very busy time of year but Pierre, the lovely person running the place, managed to work flexibly to get us 2 nights there, with the last one in the gorgeous 2-bedroom beach house. They also provide breakfast and dinner where you pay what you think it's worth, so sit back on your veranda, soak up the tropical atmosphere and relax to the sounds of the crashing waves.

We started our vacation in the Seychelles at Villas d'or in Praslin, making use of a left credit due to the Covid situation. Definitely no regret, just in contrary: Pierre was very helpful, made everything possible to change our initial reservation.

Location is just ideal on Anse Volbert at Côte d'Or: quiet, yet not isolated, just a quarter of an hour away by walk along the beach from little shops, take aways, restaurants... Villas (ours was a double-bedroom one) are very spacious with integrated kitchen, excellent bedding. Being located a few meters away from the beach is very convenient when staying with little children.

People at Villa d'or are very kind and helpfull: we were more than warmly welcomed and the team did everything to facilitate our stay and make it pleasant. For sure, this is a place we would reconsider for staying again in Praslin.

Fantastic location, the 3 km long, directly on the almost deserted beach. Good shopping opportunities, restaurants, takeaways (very tasty) in a small village that can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot.
The bungalows are a dream, just like the whole complex! There are only about 10 bungalows in total, which are so embedded in the beautiful garden that you feel very exclusive thanks to the spacious complex. Breakfast is brought to your large private terrace every day. The staff is extremely helpful, always ready for a little chat and advice, but always very discreet. Pierre, the manager, is on hand 24 hours a day to give tips and information. The barbecue, which is sometimes prepared by him and his family (Creole), is definitely not to be missed.
An incredibly beautiful and peaceful place to stay!!! Would go back anytime!!

We spent 1 week of our nearly 3 weeks in the Seychelles at this beautiful, peaceful, small resort of self catering private bungalows in Anse Volbert. We could not have chosen a better place to stay in our opinion. From the point we arrived to the time we left the staff team were so friendly and welcoming & helped us choose the right restaurants for us, how to buy fish from the local sellers on the beach & convinced us that a car for a day was the best way to see the island. The beach in front of the resort and the views up and down are stunning. Everything you need is available in the villas. A very special thanks to Heidi, Sylvana and Georgetta, for making our already fabulous holiday to the Seychelles a really special personal one. We will definitely return again and would not even consider trying anywhere else. We would also make this our longest beach stay option on the islands.

This place could have ruined our whole holiday! Pierre and his wonderful staff set the bar so high that everywhere we stayed after Les Villas d’Or didn’t quite make the grade!

A wonderfully friendly welcome and a refreshing towel after a long flight. Super villa which worked perfectly for our family of 5. Less than a minute to the beach. Simple breakfast delivered to the villa every morning. Daily housekeeping to keep the sand at bay.

And then there is Pierre. Fountain of all knowledge. Nothing was too much for him. This was our first trip to the Seychelles and he really helped us make the most of it. Booked restaurants, drove us to one when the transport didn’t turn up. Managed to find us a taxi - big shout out to the hero that is Clifford- tips to keep the sand flies away and dinner delivery during the middle of a tropical downpour.

This wasn’t our first choice of hotel for Praslin, but I am SO very glad that the other place didn’t work out. Les Villas d’Or is on the edge of the village, I guess about a 10 minute stroll along a sandy beach, and we very much appreciated being away from the action …. Seychelle action, nothing wild, but less people on the beach at our end!

Thank you Pierre and all of your staff for such a wonderful introduction to Island life.

Hi there, It's true there will be some sea weed. I have seen it on several islands and coast. However, and that's personal, it didn't disturb me personally. So that means there was some sea weed, but not that much. But hey, nature does his or hen own thing hahahaha. Have fun in Paradise, because it's truly a paradise destination, love to go back :-).
