We spent a memorable family Christmas at Rapitan di Vasay! We loved it that it was itself a family home, and that others could now experience how it is staying in an ancestral Ivatan abode. We loved the ambience of the place very much, the location was perfect, and we enjoyed the little touches (i.e, sufficient towel hangers for the guests in the bedrooms, a chess set, excellent coffee) that make for a comfortable stay. The only regret we have is that we were unable to meet Yolanda, who owns and manages the place with her siblings from abroad. Communication with her via email was nevertheless very easy - and all our queries (which were quite numerous) were promptly answered. Corazon (Ate Azon to our two boys), who runs the place, always had the best breakfast ready for us. The fern salad, the camote fries, and the longganisa was so good! (We had longganisa every day - it was that masarap!) We also had our Christmas Day dinner prepared by Azon - it was a hearty meal that we were very happy to have in the outdoor balcony area of Rapitan di Vasay - enjoying the cool winds of Basco. Azon is such a treasure: thanks for taking care of us, Azon! The highlight of our stay however, was how Yolanda, Azon, and the staff of RdV responded when our flights back to Manila were cancelled. Because of bad weather, we were unable to leave Batanes until 4 days later. Because no new guests arrived from Manila owing to the cancelled flights, we were luckily able to continue our stay at Rapitan di Vasay. The uncertainty of when we could leave was uppermost in our thoughts (we attempted two other trips to the airport without success) so it was truly a relief that we did not have to worry about where to stay and that we could return to a warm and hospitable home even as the flights were being sorted out. Yolanda was in constant touch, making sure that we were taken care of (and that, we certainly were) so that even though we were stranded in Basco, it was in such comfort that we still immensely enjoyed that time. In all, we think we made the best choice staying here. The feeling is very homey, and we got to experience local life as RdV's location allowed us to walk around to the city center (where the island's only two bank ATM machines are located), to the nearby family stores where we would get our snacks and beers, and to neighboring coffee shops and local restaurants. We loved hearing the church bells ring - and enjoyed that there were no fast-food places to mar the local scenery and experience. Truly blessed to have spent our family Christmas reunion in beautiful Batanes, and in Rapitan di Vasay! We hope to come back soon and enjoy once again, the warm hospitality and experience we had here.

Since inquiry, I had very smooth dealings with Ms. Yolanda via email for quotation and reservations. She seamlessly handled all my queries and requests for discounts (PWD and seniors) which gave me an impression of professionalism and a business valuing customer satisfaction. Today was supposed to be our flight. However, the flight was cancelled from Manila due to inclement wether in Batanes and there was no option to rebook a day after. In short, our group of 7 had no option but to ask for a refund of the downpayment (one night deposit). To my surprise, I didn't even had any difficulty asking for it and, in fact, was credited same day for the full refund online. To me, this is customer experience at its finest! Kudos to Rapitan di Vasay!

Stayed for 6N/7D and it was worth it! Place is right smack in the middle of Basco town (which is perfect). It is just 5 mins away from the airport and you can even walk to the (Basco) Lighthouse from there (approx. 10 min walk). The house is spacious and always kept spotlessly clean. The sheets and towels are crisp and white thus, you know that they are freshly changed. The restroom are also always clean. Ate Azon and Ate Tina (care takers) are always there to assist and make your stay very comfortable. They anticipate your needs and are always ready to answer any question/s you may have. They are awesome! Overall, wonderful B&B in Batanes!

My family and I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. We were very happy with our stay. The house is a well-maintained ancestral house with good interiors. There is a living room with a veranda wherein you can hang out, chat and play Bingo (yes they have Bingo cards) with your family. The house is very clean and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended! :)
